I want to add, in this video you can very clearly hear the rear differential humming especially when going uphill. All of the 2016’s and 2019’s are like this.

@@stevenkbuses i should be uploading a video of my bus with the engine fan running this week. It’s supposed to be warm this week and it usually runs when it’s warm outside. It’s sister bus I rode last school year as a junior (bus 30 2016 ce with a Cummins isb) its fan doesn’t run as much as 31’s. I actually rode on 31 as a freshman too.

I wished the rear differential sounded like this in my bus! Sounds much louder than the 2016 I ride.
The 2016 I ride has like the most silent rear differential noise in the ENTIRE FLEET and it bugs me.
Bus 46 is like that. And bus 8. Bus 9 has NO NOISE in the rear axle and it’s weird. All three are 2009 ic CEs. (I think 9 is a 2010). Bus 121, 30 and 31 have audible rear axles and I like it. 30 is a 2016 and 121 is a 2019 and both rear axles is actually louder than my bus. Also the 2016 2019’s have different axles than the older ones because they sound lower pitched at different speeds than the older buses.
You should hear my districts bus 50 though. That c2 has a loud axle.
I can list a couple more buses that don’t have a differential noise: bus 80, 12 and 81 (2016-17 Thomas C2’s with Cummins isbs) bus number 44 and 42 (2012 ic CEs with twin turbo Maxxforce DT’s however when they’re engine braking when slowing down I can hear it from the front) most of my district’s buses have a hum which is nice.
Edit: this bus is a 2017 IC CE. I initially thought that after looking a second time at the build plate. I’m not sure if my district has any Cummins CEs older than a 2017 or 2016.

It does sound pretty good. Doesn’t seem to slow the bus down very much however.
It makes my private burn from my hearing sensitiveys

I drive this exact bus but mine is a 4 speed without the humming from the rear axle.
No second gen IC CE came with a 4 speed. The early first gens had them though.
@@isaiahanderson7237 mine must be an early gen I guess I’m not sure. But it does have the 6.7l cummins diesel.
@@ilbambino96 first gens didn’t come with any Cummins engines. International made their own engines from the 70’s up until 2015/16 for school buses,trucks, semis etc. they used Cummins as early as 2014 but was an option. Maxxforce series was standard until 2016.
@@isaiahanderson7237 I don’t know much about all of this but all I know is that it’s a diesel engine with a deep tone that’s addictive to listen to.
@@ilbambino96 oh. It’s ok. I love diesel’s too and I actually used to not know much of anything about what type vehicles had. I just knew they were noisy, big, and sounded great.
