Well done Alan, another mondy back on the road, had the fun of the back pipe's last year, went a bit wild and painted the whole underneath when the subframe came out 🤦‍♂️🤣

Wow you were lucky getting them bolts out of the fuel filler brackets 😂😂😂 just done the same job on rear of my mk1 focus and feel your love for this job. Bloody pipe goes up and over the tank into a union that aint easy to access.
Great work as always mate and totally agree with taking the subframe off to make life easier 👍

Very interesting to MK3 owner like me. My MOT man said last year get some spray on the brake pipes or they will go. Timely advice. I have trouble opening the nipples. Surprised someone willing to spend so much money repairing a 20 year old car. I did a front spring using two mickey mouse compressors. Fools rush in etc. Love your kit.

Hi Alan, I'm sure you know this, it's more for those reading comments. I have found tightening stiff, hard bolts, after some wd40 spray. Once they 'crack' they are easier to undo.
I've also used external spring compressors, they just don't feel safe, I liked your system, it looks a lot safer
Great video, clear, concise and really well explained. Great work. Thanks from Oz

Hi brilliant video keep the mk3 alive plz I've just had my mk3 Mondeo 1.8lx 56reg fail it's mot the front subframe is rotten and the 2 steel fuel pipes that run under car next to the brake pipes you are talking about are rotten i can't believe the prices i have been quoted to fix these things it is basically an insurance write off at this point i did decide to try and save it from the scrape yard but to supply and fit the new front subframe is very expensive and it being a FORD next year it will be the REAR that geos.....lol i still love it though!

I've just done my Freelander2 front spring which are the same as Mondeos, everyone bolt snapped which cost me an furrher 4 and half hours getting those out,and I had to compress the spring with my trusted handraulic spring compressor . Yes those top mounts are supposed to have a mark on it to line it up with with the bracket on the side of the strut.

Seems all I do is replace brake lines here in southern Ontario Canada.
Get the mastercool 72475 hydraulic flaring tool and use the fmsi Cupro nickle brake line.
It will change your experience for the better
As for removing old lines, cut with dykes beside the nut and drill out the line from the nut for re-use.
Remove the nut from the fitting with 6 point socket.
Nice flaring tool you use as well.

Thanks for sharing mate ; but It`s when you get the patient ready & then realise that some chump as completely butchered the torx insert for you years ago. • @MrCaprinut
    @MrCaprinut ปีที่แล้ว

I can confirm that brake pipe do corrode. I changet it on my estate. I did mine with the parts still fitted. I belive it is a tad easier on a estate. And with my method of refilling the brake fluid, I get much better pedal than my mate does that do run a repair shop. His brakes is always soggy.
I fit a bleed kit with one way valve to the caliper and start the engine. When starting the engine you get support from the vaccum and you feel instant if the pedal is soggy. I have never got a good result with those pressure bleed kits on my cars. And I also have found several times that recondition calipers suck as they then to leak around the bleed nipple. One time I got two calipers in row that I was unable to build pressure. Annoyied the hell out of me so I bought a brand new Ford one and I got intstant pressure.
These days I drive a late 03 Volvo V40 after my Mk3 failed the MOT with both rust and exhaust gasses and a few more bits. I do miss the luggage space in the Mk3. My V40 has a tad too small one for my use really.

Hi Alan , did you forget to refit the neoprene anticreak sleeve on the bottom of the spring or on purpose ? Also, like your bending pliers! and do you realise you fitted SAE fittings and flares instead of DIN fittings and flares? Not many would have tackled those jobs, so well done and thanks for the guide. Got an '02 mk3 estate myself trying to keep it alive for a bit longer....
