@suburbanhunt3653 at 75gr by weight. Loose. I haven't had it out enough to test on whitetail deer yet. Ohio starts this weekend. The neighbor lady lets me hunt her farm but didn't want lead projectiles. So I ended up with this one and it groups well
I did shoot a nice 8pt with Barnes 250g at 142yrds two years ago. 80g BlackHorn by weight. Dude only ran 20yrs or so. Unfortunately I can't find those bullets in stock anymore.
I love hearing those stories!!! Congratulations on great hunt. Which 250g projectiles? TMZ TEZ or the Hollow points? If its one of those check out muzzleloader.com they show them in stock. muzzle-loaders.com/collections/bullets?pf_m_%3A%3Aglobal%3A%3Arifle_caliber=.50+Caliber&pf_st_stock_status=true&pf_v_manufacturer=Barnes
Shot a doe with Hornady 250g SSt last night. 40yrds I hit her I heard the bullet thump. She hunched over ran with tail down. Zero blood, in fact she fell down once got back up ran into the foxtail reeds. Going back to search again this morning
Wow I’m sorry to hear that. The 300s weren’t my best groups. But I hate to hear you are having to put so much extra work into locating the deer. Best of luck with the search.
Had the same thing happen a couple years ago with the SST bullet shot a doe about 30 yards shot ended up kinda high but she fell like a ton of bricks but she stayed sitting up , in the time it took to reload she regained her senses and stood up ,the second shot finished her , upon skinning it looked like the first round didn’t expand it penciled straight through her , the second shot left a baseball size exit wound .
What 209 primer do you use ? I have traditions pursuit LT having firing issues , using federal MZ 209 primer , the more I read up on I need 209 shot gun primer which I can’t find anywhere
Man if your gonna make bullet combos try me some buckhorn 209 vs t7 pellets using the traditions carnivore 250 grain bullets. I use t7 pellets in my knight but haven't found any buckhorn to try and ordering 100 bucks worth of powder to shoot it a couple of times and it not like the combo ain't worth it to me
@@suburbanhunt3653 I live just across the state line in n.c. I have to go to Tennessee to get hunting supplies cause we just ain't got that much to choose from over here
By any chance do you know your bore size? I just went through the Thor sizing pack and realized that not all bores are the same size. So I’m really curious how much that effects people favorite round. Are you saying they are hard to load? Thank you watching.
@@suburbanhunt3653 just 100 ..2 pellets ..obviously a tad dirtier than black horn but I don't mind a Lil extra clean up with the ease of pellets...I also never have to shoot twice 😉
@@codytaylor2194 I 100% agree. I was just curious as mine seems to like the 150gr loads better. I will order another box of the 250s and put them through a pellet challenge. Thanks for watching and thank you for information.
Thanks for the video. I'm using triple 7 but I really like this round.
Thank you for watching. Are you loose? What charge?

Thank you for this video! Have been having trouble with my muzzleloader and plan to shoot it just like you did this.
You are most welcome. Good luck and shoot straight!! Thank you for watching

I use Federal 209A primers. I got lucky one of our subscribers found them for me. Other than that it is been almost impossible to find.
Have you ever tried any of the THOR bore specific bullets with pellets and BH209?
Not yet I have a couple packs that I plan to test soon.
Thumbs up guys
Thank you!! And to you Sir. Nice work on the recovery!!!
I could have missed it but what cal 45 or 50?
My CVA is a 50 cal. Thanks for watching

I saw those at Academy Sport last week and almost picked the up to test. I will put those on the list. Thanks for watching.
@@suburbanhunt3653 I get four inch groups at 200 yards off the hood of my truck with a folded coat. I know I could do much better with sandbags tho

T EZ load like crap when it’s cold out

The 250 gr TEZ cant be beat in my opinion...splits holes at 100 yds in my optima running triple 7 primers and pellets lol...no need for blackhorn.
That good to know. You running 100 or 150 grains on the pellets?

@@suburbanhunt3653 awesome man I love the videos!
My prohunter likes 84grains of blackhorn with the 250 T-EZ. Shoots just about moa and is going 2060fps
