    .
-North Carolina lawmakers are moving to loosen development requirements that would allow...developers to build homes on a "highly significant archaeological site" the state says includes a Native American burial ground up to 3,000 years old.
    .
-A recent archeological survey discovered the site has "no less than 11 potential human burial clusters," each containing multiple individuals as part of a Native American settlement spanning over multiple centuries between 1000 BCE - 1600 CE...
    .
-The site...on the Bogue Sound near Emerald Isle, could also be eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places...
    .
-The proposed legislation appears to cut some state agencies out of the development process and prevent regulators from blocking construction on the site - and potential sites in the future - due to archaeological concerns...

This is why NC my state is on the top 10 most haunted states of America because of things like that.

Did we not learn anything from the movie Poltergeist?

All "developers" do is destroy nature for money that cannot be eaten for sustenance. This is disrespectful and deplorable. Black Rock has terrible karma.

I understand the concern. What would you recommend doing differently?

I would really have to wonder who they think would buy, even if they could develop. Do I want to live on top of, what entirely is, an active graveyard? No. No, I don't.

I've actually met a few people that were considering this neighborhood, until they learned of the graves found. It seems like most buyers feel the way you do!

Bad idea... Not only that what else is there and what else is there left to build... They already destroyed thousands of years of history and cultivation... Keep digging in the mountains and find what's buried there.... There's a reason the ancients told us not to dig

I agree, I wonder how much has been destroyed that we'll never know about?

Alot of "could be" in your video.
It is repulsive that anyone would even think about letting this happen. I hope that the historical status paperwork was started before this happened & is not as a result of this threat.

Unfortunately, it seems like these findings were discovered after the development was approved. It is still being determined whether or not this is in fact an ancient burial ground. So far all signs point to yes.
