to be right, I could have seen myself buying this if I don't have pc knowledge and also if we choose parts correct, we can find a perfect bang for buck. It's just for people who want storage. Go for it if you don't want the spiky road of custom build and headaches of managing it.
I'd be interested in seeing if the Orico can be configured in the same way Macs have been with "fusion" drive set ups. My iMac has a 2TB NVMe and a 4TB SSD merged into a single 5.5TB fusion single drive where the data is moved through the faster interface and is written to the slower drive outside of standard processes much like a RAID array. Works weel if done properlly so it's something to look for in the Orico unit.
I see the specs for the big3 doesnt have the CF option (its listed at 1500MBS on the others) in connectivity but the big3 ssd is 3000MBS, does that not suggest the bandwidth is split on big2 & big6 but all availble on the big3 with no CF? Great content by the way.
No Cigar Since the device is new it should support Thunderbolt 5.0 with associated upgrades in speed for the NVMe drive and USB ports. The device, which is evidently newly introduced, is essentially a generation behind. The device should support upgrades to storage without any messing around with glue or plastic seals.
For this price, you have SSD internal on the Mac mini. This is a bulk and it's not cheap at all. Not sure if you know what you are talking about, to be honest.
What is genius, this pancake style exists till the 1st gen mini macs. Now thy have to make a mac mini to mac minier adapter, that would grow the minier to match orico.
So it's meant to fix the mac storage issue, yet gives you a glued in ssd in a compartment that looks like its meant to be opened? Idiodic company decision and dissapointing to see. I was interested in purchasing a unit but if they glue in the ssd then it makes me wonder what else they won't allow you to do.
This is excellent!!!!! Exactly what i was looking for but oh boy, those fans 😢
yeah... :)
@@theTechNotice Are you still using M4 MAX for editing? I have M4 Pro and am happy with editing performance considering the value.
😨

Every Orico product I've bought has deteriorated or failed within a year.
What are disgusting internal design no thanks
