Speed up your mushroom log inoculations with the Trio of Tools. An angle grinder adapter and 12mm drill bit to drill holes quickly, and an inoculation tool to fill them with sawdust spawn. Growing mushrooms on logs is a great use of shady gardens or land!

    Great Video, keep making please!
Do we need a separate inoculation tool for each species of sawdust spawn used, or can we pressure cook the tool?

Hi Chris, soap and warm water between species and uses should be adequate! No need for multiple tools! Happy inoculating!

Hello there, what kind of logs? Is has to be one particular type? I have hemlock and fir, will that work? How old the log is the best? I have it in all ages, fresh, rotten and wood spooge.

Most species prefer types of hardwood trees, you can find a handy table that matches our species offered with tree types and difficulty level here: northspore.com/pages/spawn-faq-1 You'll want to use a recently felled tree within a couple of weeks but not more than a month.

It is probably best to wait until Spring unless you don't experience freezing temperatures. Logs can overwinter but not until they are fully colonized!
