- We are taking a look at the AMT "Parts Pack" Firestone Drag 500 racing tires offered by Round 2. I'm popping them onto an old drag car model I built over 20 years ago to see if it will "Up Date" it's looks.

I bought a pack of them and I can’t wait to use them. I’m going to put a set of them on a 68 Road Runner to match my 1:18 die cast car. I also purchased a pack of the Goodyear Blue streaks and of the Goodyear Polyglas Gts. Very cool products.
Those pad-printed 'Drag 500's definately make yout 'Grumpy's Toy' Camaro look from a 1968-69 period to a 1970-71 period look. (Nice looking model!)
Like you, I choose specific tire characteristics for my various model car subjects.
I love those AMT Parts Pack tire sets. They certainly put the 1/25-scale model car hobby into a positive, new building era. I'd love to see them do Goodyear Speedway Blue Streak tires, Goodyear Sports Car Special tires (for Shelby Cobras), and a repop of the old 1962 AMT Turnpike Firestone Darlington stock car racing tire (originally soft rubber).
I would like to see a Goodyear radial T/A from the ‘80’s. Loved those tires.
My mistake, that was a bfg. That what happens when you do this while working.
I have those but didn't use them yet. Cool tires.

The old AMT 68
Luka, when I started buying round 2 tire kits, I paid around $9.00 a box. Just got a new set & can not beleave the cost of them, between &13.00 / &17.00 a box.
I noticed the same problem with the AMT Firestone Champion Deluxe tires I got, they dont seem to fit the plastic wheels too good. I took the narrow white wall and turned it inside for my '57 Fireball Roberts build since I like the firestone biasply pattern and the wheels didnt fit too good I noticed.
Hopefully they fit better for my Victoria kit cause thats what I really bought the white walls for. Be nice if they would release more tires and hubcap parts.
A little touch of super glue and they are now on that Camaro and look great. Video soon.
I really like the “pad printed” tires. I really wish they would do more with other brands of tires. I found them online for $13.98. Andy’s is about 29 hours from my house. I do think $13.98 is too much, but they are a great product.
Wish they’d include wheelbacks in the tyre packs, it’s not unreasonable to expect that and metal axles for the price.

I'm 54 and just recently got back into car modelling, which I was originally into from about age 10 to 15. (1979/83)
I have been rebuilding my old Monogram 57 Nomad. (into gasser)
And also have the body & chassis left over from my old flip nose 66 Malibu. Thinking of rebuilding it.too. (wish I had it's engine & suspension)
I've been playing guitar since 1978. And I have allot more in the other room. Sometimes you will see different ones hanging behind me.

I've been an avid guitar player since I was 16.
I consider myself to be an average player.
Played in a few bar bands in the 80's but never progressed beyond playing for fun.
BTW, thanks for the "fender flare tips", they worked out very well.

I think the fact that the tire is sticking out from the body has nothing to do with the thickness of the tire. It would have to do with where the rim is anchored to the axle and thus the body.
If you think about it even if you didn't have a tire on it, the rim would be sticking out beyond the bodywork so the tire doesn't really change that. You could have a tire the thickness of a scale bicycle tire and it would still stick out the same amount, no?
I think I have a set of AMT wide whitewall for some of my old 50s cars that didn't come with them and I ended up trying to paint 'em on. I don't know it AMT makes the Goodyear Blue and Gold Streak sport car tires. I watched Ford vs. Ferrari and need a set for my Le Mans cars.
They are also available in the 69 Chevelle ratman kit
looks great they need to do a prostreet tire pack from 67 and 69 chevell and gtx kit
I have a problem with black lettered tires. Ive tried every which way i could to letter them and honestly these tired eyes wont let me letter them. I have just about a gallon ziploc big of fats and littles that needs to be lettered in white. I wish you could help me out. I'll send the tires and pay to have some done.

every other box the register of the print is usually off center of the tires making them useless
Pity we don't get those packs in the UK. Shipping rates just kills buying them online from the States
Thats too bad. But I can relate as there is some cool stuff in Europe I would love to get and I have the same delema.
