I took the tape off and I get notifications my batteries won't last much longer all the time, had it 2 weeks now it's in a very sunny area and I'm in south Carolina... Should I take out the back up batteries? My sync module always fails to update also, I have to eject and reload my flash drive to get it to update everyday.. maybe my internet is too slow, using a new SanDisk 64gb made for video storage... Second flash drive, first was Chinese and did same thing till it stopped recognizing it completely... Idk . The doorbell is ok but I want my system to match so I might go with something different
Brother. If I replace the batteries that came with Blink with a rechargeable one's and then plug a solar panel with it will it recharge the batteries during the day?
@@DIYReid thank ypu for the reply. Would be nice if blink would allow battery charging while plugged in a solar. Instead the make you buy the their solar with rechargeable battery 🤣

@@ashtongtv863 I feel so dumb I’ve been spending hrs, just trying to get the solar to charge. Exchanging the camera and switching the solar panel to different places. It works with the battery but I just put the new out and I’m hoping it will charge.
Hi, any idea how u would install this against a vinyl siding? I was going to use those vinyl clips and screw in 2 horizontal holes into the mounting plate. Thoughts? Thanks for your video.
The instructions are bad. It doesn't even show you assembling the camera mount. I have been trying to snap this plastic piece for an hour. Can you show how to get the camera in the mount?
@@DIYReid Had it on the wall for days thinking there hasn't been enough sun to charge it. I guess this proves my wife's point that I should read the instructions

they do sell solar panel separately and it's cheap, £35 only in the UK, might be cheaper if you're in the states

Is it possible to get a replacement rechargeable battery? Even a rechargeable battery has a limit to it's effectiveness.
Sorry to break in 😂 18650 batteries can be purchased online with higher capacity so it holds more power 😊

Can you hook up the solar panel to the doorbell?
I’m going to go with no because the mount wouldn’t work and the waterproof of the connector wouldn’t work properly.
So you don't put AA batterries in? With this?
You don’t have to.
It’s best too as they’ll act as a backup incase the sun vanishes.

I have done this… 1 clip in the plate, mount the solar housing to the plate, then clip in siding

Line the circle up and press it in with force. It’ll snap in place.
