The song is based on another song "Sepheryn" (1971) by folk music duo Curtiss Maldoon which was on a tape that William Orbit sent to Madonna. She liked it and rewrote parts of it. The video was shot in different cities such as New York, Stockholm, London and Los Angeles. The dancefloor in the club was put down especially for the video

Though it's a relatively obscure Madonna track when compared with her other work, it held the record for being the most expensive music video for years and it's a masterpiece of surrealism. One warning I can personally attest to: Don't watch it after injesting hallucinogenics of any kind.
