After I torque the pump the input won't turn I pulled the band and drum back out to make sure it's all in all the way it looks to be in all the way. However if I remove the pump washer it bolts in and the shaft will turn. Is my pump washer to thick?
@expressautotransmissiondav4207 the transmission is all the original internals never been apart looks great shifts great however I lost torque converter bushing so bought a new pump so that's all I've put on it but seems to tight. I only pulled drim to make sure everything was lined up. I have no endplay. I didnt think the pump would be different enough to be that tight. Maybe I still don't have something engaged
So I had my trans back together and then I read a comment on another video where someone said the reverse band is basically directional. Is it true there's a top and bottom so to speak? I don't see a difference
I have a 03 Mustang gt with a 4R70W, it feels like if it’s goes into neutral and the rpm’s just go up until I come to a stop then it’ll eventually hook onto 1 gear the shifts are definitely a bit harsh, no fluid is leaking and no codes are being read. I’ve gotten opinions to just do a full rebuild but don’t want to if that’s the case any recommendations?
Sorry have been busy. So first thing I would recommend getting the pressure gauge on it and a scanner we need to look at epc pressure and verify it has enough line pressure to work correctly before going into deep diagnosis.
Another good video. 👍
Thanks for the dedication.
What's the front pump seal part number? Torque converter seal
Awesome sir. Is transmission parts are hard to come by now.
That's for sure.

I would use h gauge and chevk end clearance

Great video. One question, do you give the clutch plates a soak in transmission fluid on the final assembly.
Typically yes, but at times we do not. The biggest reason I'd fluid charge and actual purpose of soaking.
Would your drill bit clearance trick work on the baby transmissions such as the 42re?
As long as it's this style of od housing yes it will work

Do you have any diag tools and a pressure gauge
@@expressautotransmissiondav4207 yes I have both
I'd put a gauge on it first to see what's going on

if he is not showing correct clutch clearances why watch
There were still some good tips
