    I am not a Facebook user, but I think your ideas on communications are good ones. it seems like a pretty widespread view in the role-playing community that solo role players are weird, and that needs to be dispelled. A good first step toward that is validating each other by communicating where we can. None of us are alone is solo players as odd as that sounds to say, which is a good thing I think. In my watching of other solo channels I have received a lot of really great ideas, and I think the more content we put out the more accepted we will be and the better our games will get. Keep up the good work!

      Hi Crap Phone, I definitely agree with you there. I really appreciate the positive feedback btw. If you ever have any ideas that I don't mention, and you would like it covered, please let me know and I will do my best to cover it. Thank you again for the comment!

    I actually prefer small channels more because there's back and forth between the creator and viewers.
    I have been collecting solo games for over a year. I've read most of them, and I enjoy that. I bought Scarlet Heroes to play with my wife, but free time, and her level of interest are factors.

    • @adventuresinsolitaire
      @adventuresinsolitaire  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I completely understand all of the above. The amount of time that me and my wife have to play can vary greatly. Looking forward to getting some more content out with her soon. I have been doing solo board gaming for quite some time and then solo Role playing soon after. Feel free to give any advice or tips you may have. I am hear to learn as well ;) I can understand the draw to small channels as well. I think I am a far bit away before I have to start worrying about communication issues.

    Just found your channel and subscribed. I love the concept of your channel. I hope it takes off for you. I am more old school, growing up in the 80’s, so anything you can do with Tunnels and Trolls or Fighting Fantasy would be great. Showing the newer generations where it all came from, and is still going strong, always helps. I appreciate your time and effort. Very well done. I liked your Fabled Lands review and might have to check that out. I’m more of a light on rules so that seemed appealing.

      Hi Monorail Madness, Thank you so much for the compliment. I really appreciate it. I do have a copy of tunnels and trolls laying around. I dont have any copies of fighting fantasy. Most of my CYOA books from my youth have been lost to the wear and tear of time ( and likely youthful neglect : ( ). But I will be covering more CYOA books and more on role playing as well. Those are some good ideas. I will absolutely keep them in mind. Thank you!

    I enjoy your content, and how you approach the Solo topic. For myself I like examples and walk-through of products as well creating solo content. keep up the good work, I do what I can regarding feedback! FlexTale review is exciting, looking forward to it!

      Hi Steve! Thank you so much for the feedback. I really do my best to try and give as much info about a product as I can. That includes images I would want if I were thinking about purchases along with all of the things I weigh or that I think others might weigh for those decisions. Flex tale is going to be a big one. I am looking forward to walking through Flextale. It is going to be a LOT of info. I am sure, like most things, it will not be for everyone. I did find some things that I thought were pretty useful even if I was not going to make use of all of the content.
      I really appreciate the positive comments. It is uplifting and helps keep me going!

    One think I've seen with a booktuber that I follow (Mike's book review), he also wanted to talk more about his love of book. So he started videos with other booktubers, like a round table with 1 or 3 other. For him and the listeners, it's an occasion to talk about something that you love, exchange with other solo player 'expert', learn about someone else interest/tools/tips. Those conversation are great! It could be 30 minutes about 1 game (go over in detail, game book experience/anecdotes with Legendary Kingdoms...) or 1h with different topics (how they started, what was their favorite game, top 5 solo rpg and why, etc.). So you and the invitee give your answer. Sometimes, you can be the host (Ben Miller does that with rpg designer). Other topic with people could what is on your radar (kickstarter, play list and why!). I would watch those discussion with other solo rpg tuber (Three Skulls Tavern, Rob's Tabletop World, ...)!

      Hello again Patrick! That's a good idea. I have been rolling that around but my nerves always get the best of me. I have not seen Three Skulls Tavern but I have been aware, and watched, a number of Rob's videos. I enjoy him quite a bit. I am going to have to dig deep to reach out to Rob. Let me think on that and work up the guts there. ;) It's not that I don't want to...its the nerves...always the nerves.... Thank you for the suggestion. I always look forward to your feedback Patrick! Thanks again.

      Hi Daniel, Thank you for taking the time to comment and giving some encouragement there. I agree on all of the above both personally, and for others as well. I am very happy to have you. I moved to a rather small town some time ago. It also happened to be a location that I had no social ties in. So its the internet and the short list of contacts that I already have. And as mentioned my personality definitely lends itself to more of a solo life style. I am a bit of my own worst enemy there. So the channel is definitely there to help me out of my shell and engage. It is also just enjoyable to share as well. :) Thank you again Daniel, for taking the time, truly appreciated.

      When I read through your comment, I have the feeling, that you are struggling with the same problems. Finding anyone for a gaming group has become an almost impossible task nowadays. Whether the gaming is on-/offline doesn't matter. It is the demanding everyday chores and jobs that keep people from committing to anything. We have moved to a new place 6 years ago, but some friends moved away and I guess I am not the type of guy to make friends easily die to my bad experience with friends and social contacts at work. That's when solo rpgs can help find some gaming time. No one telling you what to do and you can just go along with whatever suits your own enjoyment.

    • @adventuresinsolitaire
      @adventuresinsolitaire  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that all of those things are definitely contributing factors, as they have been for my life. I am sure there are many here with those same struggles as well. There are some other major factors as well of course. You mentioned no one telling you what to do as well. I had a conversation recently about online gaming that had similar language. I prefer solo rather than online for much of the same reason. I had my time when I was younger with online gaming, times changed and I saw a lot of negativity and demanding language. It wasn't long before I fell off the radar. So when I do electronic gaming, it is almost always solo and offline. I tend to make exceptions for my kiddos of course. Sometimes that's the only way myself and my eldest can play ;)

      Hi Peter, I absolutely love Hostile. It will get some more coverage. I should be doing some more reviews, for some of the supplements, sometime soon. As for a playthrough I am waiting a bit on that one. I can say that I am VERY excited about doing one. Outside of DnD with my Wife, this would be the one that I am most excited about. Live aboard a starship in an "Aliens" like universe?...absolutely! Give me that lived in universe with all its corridors and grit and grime. I want to hear the hiss of air escaping from a compromised hull. I cant wait. Thank you for your thoughts Peter.

    We have some similar tastes. Four Against Darkness is a great game with endless supplements & adventures. I too also have a pledge for ISS Vanguard and awaiting for that to ship, so videos on those as it gets delivered is going to be great. I see you got Hostile. One thing I would like to see is a breakdown of Ironsworn Starforged. Seems like a really easy solo RPG but for some reason I cannot get the rules to gel in my head. There are some great reviews for it but no deep dives into the rules. Anyway that's my two cents of rambling.

    • @adventuresinsolitaire
      @adventuresinsolitaire  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi J M, I would agree on tastes there. I definitely feel lucky to have gotten in on it. Adventure, exploration, mystery, survival elements, role playing, mini management sim....I heard those things and was sold. Especially with it being Sci-Fi. I mentioned to someone, not too long ago, that I was very interested in Starforged. Can I ask what kind of sci-fi you like in particular ( If you don't mind of course ). Starforged seems to cover most genres. I will have to see if my budget will allow for it but I am DEFINITELY interested. If I can get a hold of it I have no issue going over it with a review and a deep dive of the rules. Its on my hot list. As to the rambling...I am awful about that so, please feel free. I'll happily take the comments! Thank you J M!

      @JM-mv7sv 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adventuresinsolitaire Yep that was the intreigue that pulled me into ISS Vanguard as well. Basically Mass Effect the boardgame. I like the isolated horror & space opera type sci-fi when it comes to gaming. So themes like Alien, Event Horizon, ST Borg, or even Warhammer 40K grab me. If you are willing to deep dive on Starforged rules, I'd be willing to fund a copy for the channel.

    • @adventuresinsolitaire
      @adventuresinsolitaire  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Cybrim1, I have solo rpg videos about the hobby. I discuss different options and different levels of the solo rpg for example. I don't have any solo playthrough with the exception of the 'No Day to Die" review and playthrough. I am currently working with my wife to get ready for an upcoming DnD Solo series that will not be guided. I will also be doing a Solo RP of the Hostile Setting in the near future. So content is coming. Hopefully this helps. That you for the kind words btw! I really appreciate it.
