    This is by far the best video for the 2018 Polaris 500. Other videos on TH-cam are not for the 2018 and was very confusing. Polaris should use this video in the manual.

    Better instructions than the owner's manual. I have a 500 but it's all close enough.

    Just serviced my 2021 ranger 570 which i daily drive on the street. My local dealer wanted 370€ flr the job, but i went ahead and got 2 litres of belray sae 80w and 4l castrol power 1 10w-50. Also a oil filter. Checked everything according to the manual, replaced the fluids and greased the grease points. Saved my self 250€.

    I use 5W-20 Castrol Synthetic or Mobil 424 Hydo. Trans Fuid mixed with 5oz. of Lucas Oil Stabilizer & Never had an issue .... Mobil 424 is almost always in the Hilliard Pumpkin Drives off Production Line to Polaris for final assembly !!

    Attempting to change trans & front differential fluid. With one turn of my wrench the trans fill plug completely rounded off! The drain plug was no problem, the oil drain plug was no problem.... ugh!

    What's your thought on the polaris trans? Alot of guys say the turf mode trans are ticking time bombs. But those guys might be putting 30" tires on them and beating the shit out of them. I use JD hy-guard in my trans too.

    How’s Polaris warranty and have you used other brands of side by sides

      Polaris warranty used to be better we have extended warranty on these machines and so far has paid out very well. I had some trouble on this particular machine getting the prop shaft and drive clutch covered, but looks like I am going to win. Not sure if I would suggest extended warranty to anyone else who is looking. I like these machines because they are very simple to repair and there is very little to go wrong with them. There is a couple of areas that I wish were a little beefier but time will tell if they hold up. I have not owned any other brands of side by sides, I have used a couple of others at neighbors places and have been unimpressed. Especially in the Honda line. Only others I think I would consider currently would be the new John Deere Gator and the Kawasaki Mule FX

    Is the amsoil or JD rear gear lube you've been using like 89w-90? Would 80w-90 gear lube work? Thanks

      I've been using JD trand/hydraulic oil in the ranger transaxle

    • @drummerjay802
      @drummerjay802 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OldGlory1776 would you say that JD hydraulic oil is as thick as 80-90 w gear lube? Because I've read that some people have said the Polaris AGL (what Polaris recommends) is thick and similar to gear lube, but then I also read that the Polaris AGL is thinner stuff and they also said that 80-90 weight gear lube is to thick to properly lube all the bearings and gears and not to use thicker stuff. The Amsoil ATV/UTV stuff you put in in this video, is it thick stuff like 80-90 gear lube??

      @@drummerjay802 jd hyguard is somewhere around a 40 weight of oil. 8090 weight is much too heavy to use in a transaxle, you will not get enough Splash lubrication to lubricate the upper shaft bearings if you use something like that. The Polaris AGL is not 8090 weight, however it is gl-5 rated for gear oil as also is John Deere Hy guard
