I have the 150 none camo and i can have mine up in about 10 mins including pegging out. to disconnect the pole you are suppose to use both hands and using both thumbs. the mozzy front is awesome as you don't have the front on at all and you get a complete view of the lake.
Maff a camo tastic vlog even the gloves love it. Fair play out on the bank in winter I did a 48hr sesh last weekend of 24 and at 55 jeez that was cold for me. Great review of the rs looked hard to do single handed. More vlogs plz
I had the original Tempest 200 with Skull Cap....I had 3 bedchairs in at 1 point and still had space, my son across the back and me n a mate down the sides. Tempest 200 are in my opinion the No.1 bivvy on the market, NOW...add the social cap and you've got a Castle 😂😂. I like the touch with the Storm Poles through the peak, didn't know that 👍👍
Thanks for the video, I always enjoy real reviews from real people in the real world. I hope you don't mind me adding a couple of comments to it. 1) yes Trakker really do make fantastic bivvies that tick all the boxes, particularly the box for "emptied bank account" 🤢 2) Bivvies and tent's are not supposed to be heated as it is dangerous ie fire risk and carbon monoxide poisoning which both kills a no. of people each year, even whole families together. Also causes horrendous condensation. Wear warm clothes, drink/ eat hot items and a really good bed and gonk bag. Tight lines sir👍
Hi mark, i must disagree with you on a few things, firstly i use a mr buddy heater with a fan on top of it, it kicks out ZERO carbon emissions ive tested it for at least 3 years with a good carbon dioxide tester (actually i have several all different makes), and secondly the condensation is next to nothing. As for a fire risk i do agree with you on that point but most GOOD heaters have a safety cut of valve if they are knocked over.
It's never recommended or safe to use gas canisters and naked flames in tents or bivvies. I have first hand experience of when it goes wrong. My friend and I rescued a man from a burning tent and the 4 kids in the tent next to it at a campsite about 15 years ago.He had made a cup of tea and was breaking the stove down for the night (as your supposed to) when the cannister exploded, instantly vapourising part of the tent and settling the rest of the tent on fire which went up quicker than the arse of a firework. If it weren't for me and my friends instant reaction to the bang... well... he suffered 2nd degree burns to his hands and face, as for the kids, unharmed...in the nick of time, they're tent was nothing but a scortch mark on the ground within literally 90sec. If we were literally 30sec later... I genuinely dread to think about it Turned out to be a faulty regulator on the stove and faulty valve on the cannister (450) which was 3/4 full. As for monoxide poisoning, It's not nice to find a dead body sir. (25yr ago) That's why I never recommend or use stoves and heaters in tents and bivvies. I hope you understand my stance. PLEASE BE CAREFUL FRIEND 🙏
Great vid Maff, I would suggest a pond liner or something for under the ground sheet as my friends ground sheet had holes in after first use of it, the material don’t seem thick
I agree I was surprised how small the bag was when I discovered that was the actual ground sheet would do no harm to have a pre ground sheet. regards Maff 👍
God review mate- i have the rs100 and its an awesome bivvy - i also have the inner dome and your guess was right its a pain to keep having to put in/take down every time i fish but for me worth the effort- ive had the mozzy mesh door - its a waste of money as the inner dome has a mesh door so virtually does the same thing. Have a great new year mate .
Hi Matt great comment and feed back thank you for that, i can see the inner being a pain but if your accustomed to the bit of extra work and you reap the benefits and comfort in doing so then all kudos to you 👍 regards Matt
Maff.... been waiting for this video after you mentioned getting the trakker in your last vlog. I have just bought the RS 100 bivvy. Like you I cant see the true value, but they are good. I have a defective groundsheet which I hope i can get resolved quickly but overall, I am happy. I enjoy your videos. Please keep the content coming..if it were not for yourself and Carp King 71, (Chris), I would have nothing to watch in the evenings... please keep going, I for one look forward to your videos.. Cheers..
Great vid pal, i've just bought the rs 100 to replace my 6 ton ridgemonkey fx1, which actually weighs around 30kg, its a great bivvy but its six foot long when in the bag.
Great vlog. Have watched all of your fishing vlogs for many years and you never fail to entertain and inform and this one is no exception. Keep up the great work please, so many seem to have fallen by the wayside in recent times. I noticed the nice looking gloves you are wearing. Unfortunately I have now reached the age where normal lined gloves no longer keep my hands warm so can you tell me how those you are wearing are, and what make and, if appropriate, model. Thank you and happy new year.
Good watch and well done Matt. Like yourself I’ve had many bivvies but this time I’ve opted for the Avid HQ 2 man for the extra space and the optional inner skin which is a absolute must in reducing condensation and with the added rear vent it’s a decent bivvy and not to bad to erect. Best of luck mate and tight lines 🎣👍🏼
I did like my HQ Ian but i kept breaking bits off it and then finally i tore the door to shreds i found the HQ a very warm winter bivvie despite its size. a combo of the two would be perfect! thank you regards Matt, 👍
Thanks for the review Maff. Currently have a hide, but been looking at the tempest rs 150 or 200. One thing that puts me off is there is no winter skin, but I guess a inner capsule works in the same way. Thanks Mike
Get a Tempest T1 Camo Pro. Has a infill for the summer months, Buy a groundsheet if needed in winter and it’s super thick with a fold back flap. Get an over wrap if needed as well. All can be purchased cheaper than a rs200.
Hi Mike, i would certainly have a good look at some alternatives, as i said this is a lot of money for something that does nothing better than any others out there. saying that i do like it. one of my fishing buddies has the 150 which is still a great size, hope you find what your looking for Mike. kind regards Maff.👍
I have the older Tempest 200, I agree it is more difficult to put it up on your own, especially the first time from new. However after the first few times, it does get a lot easier, maybe not seven seconds but I can do it in less than 20 seconds.
Thanks for the video some great insights there,it's just a bit over my budget now I'm retired I also have the avid and fingers crossed it will last me another season or two thanks again buddy and tight lines.👍
Fabulous bivvy Maff once you've had it up a few times,I had the normal 200 and absolutely loved it for France and long sessions in england!!! Only problem for me the trakker storm poles had to be replaced with fox clamp style ones as theres didn't stay up under tension!! But that was with the normal 200! Cheers Daniel🎣
I’ve just got the exo plus with the capsule I had the same problem with the fan out the first time I fitted the capsule in and it still went back into the bag but not the ground sheet😂 The second time out the bivvy fanned out great so I think yours will to
Hi Paul that's good to hear, thank you. what's your thoughts on the inner as as you could see I'm in two minds now although it will be probably next year if i were to get that thing 👍
Great review matt I have the 100T and at first I struggled putting that up the way they say! However now it goes up in seconds, so maybe yours even tho alot biggeryou may get it up quicker, hehe, can I ask what bed you have as it looks comfy and also bigger as I'm on the larger side let's say, hehe, and I could do with one that size, well il look forward to your next video whatever you're doing, all the best for the new year to you and your Family mate take care 👍
Hi Toeknee 😁 That bed is the Nash MF60 Indulgence 5 Season SS4 MKII Wide, its a little pricy but i do recommend it, 100%. to have the extra width just make it so much more comfy. I bit more practice require for sure getting it UP LOL but that's why I did this video as I wanted it to be real and not staged and show it in real time ...well sort of i don't normally move that fast anymore lol. happy new year to you and yours regards Matt, 👍👍
firstly thank you john, i guess most of the time i will be in my budget westlake but this will get its uses at the right place, yes a lot of money indeed, i must be mad! thank you and have a happy new year regards Matt, 👍
great vlog maff mate bivvy is pucker and wear in with time and you will get faster at it at least you dont mess with poles anymore lol you cant lean on the front of that and snap a pole lol happy new year mate hope to see you about on wadda good luck for 2025
Hi Nick i know what you mean not so easy to snap lol, it certainly looks the part but wow that price is silly, it just goes to show i am really stupid 😂 my missis wasn't too happy when she found out i had spent £150.00 on a new bivvie ...... 🤣🤣 Happy new year mate, Matt
Haha more than likely depending if we do cleabarrow or ratherheath.. there is a few swims on ratherheath ya would get the big bivvy on .. round the front and round the back
Happy New Year to you and your family Maff. Over 1000 quid for a bivvy without a inner capsule and zip in groundsheet....No thanks. The clear window is a bugbear of mine, why do the majority of manufacturers not put a zip on them (instead of crap velcro which never meshes properly) so that you can roll it up and clip it up?
yeh a lot of money for sure and I have to totally agree with you, what is it about the clear screen, they never seem to go back properly and yes' a simple zip would solve it?, kind regards Maff.👍
That could well be true Adam it did take at least ten minutes edited! but im sure i will better the time the more i use it. Thank you and a happy new year to you, regards Matt. 👍
Hi Maff great review if anyone is interested in that bivvy me presently am looking to get a Nash cameo xl pro on the same lines but well presented and some good advice. Hope Dave is doing well I used to fish Terrys borwick lake in the 90s when he did 👍 up mate great review for anyone looking for that bivvy keep it coming 👍
Hi Brendan, thank you for the feed back, much appreciated, Dave often talks about Borwick, we met up last week and had a hike over in Yorkshire, hes fine, good luck with the bivvie hunt regards Matt, 👍
If you're in the back of that bivvy surely you're breaking the rules being too far away from your rods 😂😂 Nice video as always, i did see some ass crack but i put it down to Trakker having ya pants down with the price 😉 Apparently a little trick when setting up big bivvys like that is before trying to erect/fan it out put a peg in the middle pegging point to hold it stable whilst then bringing both sides around (Hope that made sense Maff) maybe it would help with that mahooosive bivvy. Happy New Year to you 👍🏻
LOL 😂😂 great comment genuine lol, well i may try the peg out the middle pole next time, no harm in trying. I just wanted the vid to be as real as it could be, i knew i was going to struggle first time but you never see that normally Tim, cheers for the comment and also a big happy new year to you and yours, regards Matt. 👍👍
Well it looks like someone was on Santa's Good Boy list...LMFAO to be honest, when I saw the title of the video and it started, I was thinking to myself "WOW that really is camouflaged well"...(Yeah I was looking at the dome like pile of brush behind you Ha Ha Ha). Nice bivvy mate, and a Happy New Year to you and yours.
Hi Sam Good to hear from you hope your well... its a big bugger for sure and i just had to do a first time set up as i knew this was going to be a tough one to put up and nobody shows the 200 very often or dont like to show that its not always as easy as they say. So me being me, i did what i did, must admit though i do like it. I hope you and yours have a very happy new year. kindest regards Matt. 👍👍
see I'm getting that with a few comments about the inner, it does seem to be the way forward, but I'm going to have to put some more overtime in before then lol, I did look at the T2 that's also a a good size as well and plenty of height with that one, thanks for the feed back, much appreciated matt. 👍
Yes i did indeed Matt and i knew it wasn't going to be easy first time but at least it was real and that exactly what i wanted to show. its far too common for these bigger bivvies not been shown how to be put up. yep the inner will reduce the condensation for sure. I love the size of it. lets hope it stays up in the wind! 👍
Wonder if the bivvy will go back in its bag…..Trakker are pretty crap for bags that are big enough for its contents. I bought a Tempest Brolly100 and complained about the cheap nasty bag which wasn’t big enough. They offered to sell me another one for £45 . I declined and told them I’d never buy another Trakker bivvy…….they don’t care.
I 100% agree that groundsheet is never going back in there unless you use an iron, i didnt think it was the groundsheet at first? yes it is a shame when companies miss things like that
I wont spent that money on a bivvy again. I got an expensive tempest and after 1 year all the seam tapes came off. That really pissed me off.. Tempest is a good bivvy, no doubt, but not worth that money.
Hotel Yes its perfect for what i need, i have seen and had a good look at the 150 but as i said that ticks all the boxes for me and the social side of fishing which i enjoy with good friends 👍👍
Hi Colin yes i did but i could have just put it up and pretended it all went well and cut out the awkward bits like most do but i guess you get warts and all on this one as i wanted the experience to be as real and genuine as it could be i knew i was going to struggle on the first attempt. I dont mind showing that, 👍
The inner lining on my tempest 100 was quite a flimsy thin vented affair. And offered no insulation qualities. It may have changed but I’d suggest doing a bit homework before splashing out mate.
Not for me and when my buddies are sat in it chewing the cud that's something i can look forward to and why i went for that particular size, thank you for your comment regards Matt
Not for me Adam and when my buddies are sat in it chewing the cud that's something i can look forward to and why i went for that particular size, thank you for your comment regards Matt

Hi Vince thank you for your comment and heads up ive got some practice to do for sure, regards maff 👍
Good advice about the internal mesh pockets. Fell for it twice on my Fox Frontier. It’s a hard learning curve. 👍
Me too, lol
HAHA haven't we all..
@@frankspencer5602 : I’ll bet you didn’t tell Betty when you got home 😂😂
Enjoyed the video. Good to see an unbiased review.
Couldn’t justify paying that kind of price for a bivvy personally.
Yes it is a lot of money to part with, thank you for your comment Chris,👍 Maff
Really enjoyed the vlog , totally honest, brilliant, keep up the great vlogs, happy new year maft 👍👌
I've got the avid hq brolly system, the inner capsule definitely helps, and I leave it in , when packing away 👍👌
That camo pattern is absolutely tasty! Happy new year Maff!
Must admit it does look good Terence and a happy new year to you 👍
Not needing a new bivvy but enjoyed the maff content! Happy new year to you and the family mate
Thank you Shane, happy new year to you and yours. 👍
Maff a camo tastic vlog even the gloves love it. Fair play out on the bank in winter I did a 48hr sesh last weekend of 24 and at 55 jeez that was cold for me. Great review of the rs looked hard to do single handed. More vlogs plz
Thank you for your comment, yes its a big un for sure cant beat a cold session to appreciate the comforts of home when you return 👍
Happy new year maff, great review of the bivvy, as you know i am well happy with my 150, the trmpest just oozes quality.
It was seeing your 150 at the social that made me look at this Bivvie so in all honesty its all your fault...ps did you notice your sticker lol
@MaffTUK Yes mate, made me smile seeing it. I thought I may have been partly responsible for your purchase.
I like the touch with the Storm Poles through the peak, didn't know that 👍👍
thanks Paul i do like the size of this beast for sure cant use it on all pegs but I know it will serve its purpose at the right time 👍
Happy Hew Year Maff - another great vid
Thank you Chris and a happy new year to you also 👍
Thanks for the video, I always enjoy real reviews from real people in the real world. I hope you don't mind me adding a couple of comments to it.
1) yes Trakker really do make fantastic bivvies that tick all the boxes, particularly the box for "emptied bank account" 🤢
2) Bivvies and tent's are not supposed to be heated as it is dangerous ie fire risk and carbon monoxide poisoning which both kills a no. of people each year, even whole families together. Also causes horrendous condensation.
Wear warm clothes, drink/ eat hot items and a really good bed and gonk bag.
Tight lines sir👍

Hi Mate hope your well, happy new year and happy bivvie hunting 😁👍
happy new year maff, great vid pal
Hi Chris, thank you again and a big happy new year to you and yours, regards Maff, 👍
God review mate- i have the rs100 and its an awesome bivvy - i also have the inner dome and your guess was right its a pain to keep having to put in/take down every time i fish but for me worth the effort- ive had the mozzy mesh door - its a waste of money as the inner dome has a mesh door so virtually does the same thing. excellent honest review👍don't think i will swap my nash hyde for it , i'am a old guy and it only takes me 2mins max from bag to fully set up
Fair shout Phil thank you for taking the time to comment, regards Maff 👍
Maff.... been waiting for this video after you mentioned getting the trakker in your last vlog. Cheers..
Hi James yes it is a lot of money, shame about your ground sheet, i hope they sort it for you soon enough, happy new year to you, regards matt 👍
Happy new year Maff another great video 👍
Thank you John and a happy new year to you, regards Matt👍
Hi there, don't now if this will help you, buy a tarp and use as a cover
Titan?
Hi Mike, i would certainly have a good look at some alternatives, as i said this is a lot of money for something that does nothing better than any others out there. saying that i do like it. one of my fishing buddies has the 150 which is still a great size, hope you find what your looking for Mike. kind regards Maff.👍
Enjoyed the review. I'm thinking of getting the 150 so I thought your review was very good thx.
Fantastic review big bivvy and big price 😢 happy new year buddy please keep video's coming
Unfortunately big price indeed Dave but I'm looking forward to seeing how i get on with it, thank you, regards Maff 👍
I have the older Tempest 200, I agree it is more difficult to put it up on your own, especially the first time from new. However after the first few times, it does get a lot easier, maybe not seven seconds but I can do it in less than 20 seconds.

Thank you for your comment Daniel, should get easier the more times i put it up will have to keep my eye on the storm poles, regards Maff, 👍

Had the original 200 and you have to take out the inner capsule everytime, also if its the same you can just loosen up the cap and leave it on.
Bloody hell mate I've just seen the price. Lol great vid and good to see you out dangling again.
Yes i know the price is mad! I'm eating beans on toast for the next six months lol, thank you Paul and a happy new year to you. 👍

Good bivvy that, but I've just got the nash T2. You're a few weeks too late with this video lol but the inner is a must, really good little video
see I'm getting that with a few comments about the inner, it does seem to be the way forward, but I'm going to have to put some more overtime in before then lol, I did look at the T2 that's also a a good size as well and plenty of height with that one, thanks for the feed back, much appreciated matt. 👍
Great review mate
Thank you Aaron happy new year to you.👍
Best way I found was peg the back of the bivvy then pull towards you stops you dancing with it 😊
Thank you Charles, i shall try that next time, and what a dance it was lol 🤣🤣
What a mess you got in with it. But it is MASSIVE... And for best condensation you want the full wrap, or inner capsule, or both. 🤪
Smashing video mate.....but.....the price of it, I've bought cars for less 😲
Well at least ive got somewhere to live if she finds out how much ive paid for it! LOL 🤣🤣
Thanks for the video
Your welcome i hope it was useful to you, regards Matt 👍
That ground sheet is never going back in that ground sheet bag. Boggles my mind why componies still do things like that.
I 100% agree that groundsheet is never going back in there unless you use an iron, i didnt think it was the groundsheet at first? yes it is a shame when companies miss things like that
@@Kingcarparpeggio thats a real shame they did that to you.
@@MaffTUK : They’re slow learners for sure….theyve only been making bivvies for about 25years 😂😂
I wont spent that money on a bivvy again. I got an expensive tempest and after 1 year all the seam tapes came off. That really pissed me off.. Tempest is a good bivvy, no doubt, but not worth that money.
oh ek that doesn't sound good i will have to keep my eye on that as you only get one year warranty thank you for letting me know 👍
Should of got the 150 find that too big for me. The 200 must be like a hotel.
You must of missed the bit where maff said the 200 suits his needs and ticks the boxes for what he wants from a bivvy!!?
Hotel Yes its perfect for what i need, i have seen and had a good look at the 150 but as i said that ticks all the boxes for me and the social side of fishing which i enjoy with good friends 👍👍
Nice vid, but you did make it look hard work 😂
Hi Colin yes i did but i could have just put it up and pretended it all went well and cut out the awkward bits like most do but i guess you get warts and all on this one as i wanted the experience to be as real and genuine as it could be i knew i was going to struggle on the first attempt. I dont mind showing that, 👍
The inner lining on my tempest 100 was quite a flimsy thin vented affair. And offered no insulation qualities. It may have changed but I’d suggest doing a bit homework before splashing out mate.
That is good sound advice and thank you very much for the heads up, regards Matt 👍
So Atkinsons now has two huts? 🤣🤣🤣
LOL this did make me laugh Steve, nearly filled the island, happy new year, Maff 👍
Over a GRAND have you lost your marbles MAFF? For a bivvy no longer made in Sheffield but made in China. No f ing way.
I hear you Karl it is a lot of cash
Far too big that
Not for me and when my buddies are sat in it chewing the cud that's something i can look forward to and why i went for that particular size, thank you for your comment regards Matt
