I've seen so many videos on TH-cam with people who DON"T know how to run a stump grinder. Finally, your video came up with the right swing speed and right bite which makes it look a lot easier than most make it look
Thanks for the video. I'm renting this Toro model today. This will help get the feel of it. 18 stumps from 4 inches to 40 inches. Hope to get all done in one day.
I'm renting a dingo with a stump grinder attachment this weekend to do 8 stumps. I'm not sure of the model? So I was just wondering how long it took you?
@@kansasgardener5844It worked very well. I could have done it faster, but my technique improved after getting a tip- make full use of the sweeping action by starting at the largest root and sweep in.
Just rented one of these for the weekend. Did a 12" stump from a dead pine that I cut down last weekend in less than 15 minutes. Have a bunch more to do around the property this weekend. Nice little machine.
I guess im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my account password. I love any tricks you can give me
@Antonio Heath i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I rented one of these. I had two tree's cut down. A 30 yr old pine tree and a 25 yr old maple. I rented this and it dug them out smoothly into fine chips. I took it back. The rental guy asked me what kind of tree's I cut up so I told him. he said "You cut out a pine stump? Everyone complains it won't cut worth sh*t on pine, how did you do?" I said " i watched a few video's on youtube. If the grinding wheel "JUMPS" as you are cutting, you are taking too deep and too fast of a cut. So I cut about an inch from left to right and then lowered it and took another swipe. Back and forth. I had no trouble whatsoever. In fact, a neighbor brought their riding mower and cart over because they wanted the wood chips for their garden so I had zero clean up. Slow and easy and it won't jump.
Awesome thank you for sharing that about pines, I have a job comming up and will be renting this for about 60 small stumps 4 inch and under and 2 oaks one 16 inch and a 24 inch. They been cut down for over a year hoping to have them all grinded in 7 hours for a smooth day !
20 stumps in 4 hours gives a good estimate of how many stumps a used one has run through when it has 600-1000 hours. Lots of hard work on the machine that people are asking 10k for used.
I'll be using this exact one in the near future but I have to remove landscaping rock around the stump first , have you had any problems hitting any rock ?
@@HandyGuy2016 Just got a quote in Michigan for 17.8k out the door Thanks for the video! Have been using a PowerKing 14hp Grinder for the last year or so and I finally have had enough going to pull the trigger on an STX26 this week!!

@@Steve-ls3yy I suppose I will have to get used to it. But with my least expensive quote being $1200 paying $300 for 24hrs was a better option

Nice machine, always good to add extra services to customers you already have
It's a rental but I would buy one if I could justify it.
Great review, probably be buying one myself in a few day.
I rented it many times. I love them. I was amazed on how good they are built. They are built tuff.
I agree 💯

I had the same experience, it worked great on hardwood and softwood stumps.

Nope, it will hit small rocks and you won't even notice until you have to sharpen the bits.
@@HandyGuy2016 Good thing I'm renting one , lol
Is this a Home Depot rental? How well was it maintained? Looks like fun. Can't wait to grind my stumps.
Local Rental place, not Home Depot. They have good equipment, usually in top shape. This was well maintained and fun to use.
Did you hear about the worker who got killed with one today. I would figure this style grinder but I really have no idea
No I haven't, that's terrible ☹️
Do you know where and how much new tracks are for that machine?
Through a Toro dealer and no idea on price.
Once you grind the stump what is done with all the wood chips? Are they kept in place to fill the void left by the stump removal?
If the stumps are ground level you can leave the sawdust or replace it with soil.
You have to leave s little bump. In a few week it will compact.
That is a nice machine what do they charge you to rent that? I have to pay $150 to rent the one toro one that I have to push!
It was close to $200 for a day.
@@HandyGuy2016 That's not bad. That would totally be worth the extra $50 to use that machine!
@@michall6454 The Diamond Rental website says $210 for a half-day, $295 for a full day.
It's 335$/day here in NC
How hard is it to load on and off truck
With ramps, no problem
@@HandyGuy2016 thanks
Any idea on cost of new unit?
I think they run about $10K new

How much is the rent on that one?
Almost $200 for the day
Do you still have the John Deere 36 G15
Yes I do, but I'm selling it now that I have the Ferris FW 15.
HandyGuy 2016 How much I’m interested
Where can I buy one?

Go deep deep deep and then you repeat
