Hi Aaron. Im an experienced mechanic and the checks I do before hitting the road are, all fluids that are reachable, wheel nuts, tyre pressures, visual under body check, battery check, light check and I check my air bags in the rear too. Your Dmax will tell you when its time for the fuel filter to he changed but still doesn't hurt to do em every 10-20k. Also I would check if yours is eligible for the upgraded front hubs. I'm pretty sure there's a recall on them as they suffer from bump steer and premature tyre wear. I hope this has helped.
Hey mate, thanks for the tips love to know what is required and overkill! We will look into that recall, would be potentially something worth getting fixed if we are apart of the recall. thanks again mate safe travels!
Are the MSA TM902's towing mirrors wider than the original mirrors and are you happy with them. The problem with the DPF engines is they normally gain oil level and my DMax service centre are always over filling the bloody thing. Isuzu recommend changing the fuel filter when the change filter light comes on, my LSU has 65,000k now and I change the fuel filter every 20,000km or there abouts. I am using Penrite Enviro+ 10W - 40 Full Synthetic engine oil and changing the engine oil and filter every 7,500km, everything else gets done according the the advised service schedule. Except for the coolant, I intend changing that every three years now, the blue Penrite coolant is relatively cheap and a good product. The ute never uses a drop of oil towing the van. I give the Isuzu service centre the oil to make sure it gets what I want.
100% we are stoked with them and they are so much wider than stock mirrors, they are also compliant for the GVM/GVM upgrade. We have never had the fuel filter light go on but thought it would be worth while changing it over on the mechanics advice, we will not go to Isuzu service centres anymore after having too many bad experiences with them advising they did things and it not actually being done eg, rotating tyres etc. Now I'll only go to a specialised 4wd independent, but if you have a good service centre that's unreal. That's the tricky thing ensuring its not overfilled cause then your worse off than you were!
Hi my 2 cents worth (as a mechanic) would be to use a tension wrench when checking wheel nuts (check specs in the handbook) and you can check your brakes if you wish. Pop the wheel off and see how much meat is left on on the pads. If you’re doing a long trip also not a bad idea to run your eyes over the shocks to check if any oil leaks.
Good tip although we dont have a torque wrench and due to stripping the weight can't carry one around oz anymore, this seems to do the job! In terms of brakes this is true hadn't thought of taking off the wheels due to the brake replacement last week but good for the normal days where the brakes aren't brand new and you are heading off on a trip! thanks so much for your comment and appreciate you watching :)
Great vid guys - some good tips there. How / why does the audio sound like you are inside the bathroom ? not that there is anything wrong with the audio, it is very clear.
Cant carry one of these around Oz due to stripping the weight, this tool seems to do the job as it was just a check over and the nuts are already tight.
Hey, you need to route the UHF aerial wire around the Bullaring rather than it just hanging down and flapping in the breeze...it shouldn't affect your gym. Lol
You should never show yourself doing anything mechanical because there is so many experts out there that know nothing that will tell you what you should do enjoy
Hey just a thought alway check your wheel nuts diagonally, same as when you put a wheel on.
Good tip!
Nice looking Ute
Great video and tips 🤙🍻
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks mate!

Loved the Bloopers, watching Bruce Lee using the wheel brace as nun chuckers, very funny !!!
Classic hahah, thanks for watching!
Anywhere between the low and high mark on the dipstick should be fine
thanks, good to know!!
We loved your antics Aaron in the bloopers, nothing like a good ole fart to brighten the day and create laughter 😆
haha love to make people laugh!!

Where will you be going when you get to SA?
At the moment we are thinking of regional SA but haven't quite confirmed our exact location pending a few things at the moment.
@@thewilsonstakeonoz If you're coming across to the Eyre Peninsula, let us know, and I can give you a heap of tips on some great spots to visit 👌👌
awesome, will keep that in mind thank you
Your UHF aerial wire gives me OCD. Chuck a few cable ties and run it down the loop. 😂😂. Cheers guys .
haha we had some but they snapped and haven't got around to redoing them, will get it done though haha
Love the Jedi moves in the bloopers ❤
haha a bit of fun for your Sunday!

good advice guys, oh i have my vegy pod coming next week, thanks for sharing that, cheers.
Thanks Boyd, appreciate the on going support! Very exciting, you'll love them!!
You sould be checking the wheel nuts with a torque wrench to ensure they are at the right torque.
agreed, but we dont have one of these and can't carry one due to GVM GCM limits.
Great vid guys - some good tips there. How / why does the audio sound like you are inside the bathroom ? not that there is anything wrong with the audio, it is very clear.
Good question - could just be the mic and the weather not being as blowy?
Wheel nuts should always be check diagonal not in circle.
Good tip!
Should use a torque wrench and set to the correct torque setting. Also use loctite to stop nuts from vibrating loose.

hey we did have a cable tie around this but it has recently snapped, thanks for your comment!

haha this is very true, loads of experts out there isn't that the truth!
