This wealth of useful info pertaining to cat behaviors is a field of treasure. My sincere gratitude for identifying & explaining these connections to common, yet broadly unknown and misunderstood cat characteristics ‼️👏👏👏 I don't know of anyone who would not benefit from watching this bc there's so much to learn here
I always instruct my children that when our cat rolls onto her back it means that she trusts them, but she does NOT want belly scratches. I knew she did not like her belly touched, but really had no clue why she continued to give us belly. I had an inkling that it was some sign of security or form of trust, but overall the fact that she frequently demonstrates this behavior confused the heck out of me. Its has been difficult to convince the kids when they find the behavior so adorable and her soft fluffy belly seems to beckon out to them, that she is not asking for a belly pat❗ She shows dislike. Yet, with the light cast on this behavior, thanks to this vid, I better comprehend and can now explain this to them with confidence.
If you know and love cats, none of these behaviors is strange. Also purring is scientifically proven to be healing to humans (lowers blood pressure, heals broken bones etc) and thus a cat purring when it is not related to feeling contentment could signal its trying to heal itself. Amazing animals!
@@edkratsch279 They are! Generally! But they also purr when they're not feeling well or are injured. They are incredible self-healing and people healing beings. Wonderful animal!
My cats wag their tails when they're sitting on my lap and I compliment them for the umpteenth time as in, " You're my loyal little lion", etc. My female cat gives the most enthusiastic big flick of the tail when I say, " You are so sweet, I could eat you up". It's as if she understands every meaning of the words and rewards me with a cuddle too.
@@didibrant7326 guess some cats are more tail emotion expressive than others! Noticed my boy responds more to my vocal tone Than my other cats did! Ur girls that way too!
My cat hates boxes...when she was a kit her mom had to transfer her over in a box taped shut (with airholes ofc) so she wouldn't tear up my car or bolt.
I found out through ur videos that my cat loves me and trust me a lot!! And my cat does everything you showed that is good!! Thank you J. Miller From: Louisiana
Unlike most humans, the degree of love and care you show a cat is returned by the cat. And as a cat ages they learn and behave in really interesting and loving ways.
It is their strange behaviors that draw me to them and make me love them. My cat, as a kitten, loved to tear apart paper towel rolls. I would toss a ne roll of paper towels just to see how fast she could shred it. Liked and subscribed.
@@Cat_Nation it is obvious you are a pet lover. Pet lovers are good people in my experience. My cat lives a life in which she has never been scolded or frightened by any human. It is a miracle what cat comes when treated with love and respect.
We are now doing playtime during the day and evenings. We have young cat (4 1/2 mon.) and since she's an only cat she is very demanding that all members of the house be up according to her schedule. She will let you know her litter box needs to be cleaned. It gets cleaned several hours a day. She won't use it if SHE considers it too full. She sleeps with my mom during the evening. But will wake her for morning food, then again at 5:30am to get up. So my mom may not like it on some days she wants to sleep but other days if she has an issue getting up in time, you can count on the cat. My niece who is in school is home with her constantly so she's never really alone. So I assured my niece that if she's coming to you then she wants attention. When she's sleep leave her be. So when my mother comes home she greets her. So now she's in her night mode energy. I just purchased some new cat toys, a set that comes with 2 fishing rods with feather bait, replacements, and 2 gymnastic ribbons. I will usually play with her a bit before I go to work. I got these toys just in time for the weekend. So of course she loves the fishing rod the best. So we got our work cut out for us. And now she's sleeping better. But she wants to get up and play in the morning because she's got new toys.
I am not a fan of suggesting you turn away in a stare down contest outside of a scenario where you don't know the cat in question. I only have 2 cats so that is a small sample size but I never turn away in a stare-down. I always counter with slow blinks and have a great relationship with my babies. Ears being back is a good way to read a lot of animals, from personal experience it applies to horses, dogs, and cats. In the case of horses, if they have their ears back give it more distance than you think is safe because they have range. As for belly rubs, I got both sides of the extremes in 2 cats. One wants nothing to do with belly rubs while the other will suddenly collapse in front of you to the point of tripping you demanding belly rubs.

I like it when people like you keep their mouth shut
My boy wags his tail when happy most of the cats I've had only wagged their tails when upset!

I spend most of my time at home with my cat. But my cat hates guests !!

So often these type of videos are chock full of BS. Not so yours. Well researched and useful. Kudos to you and thanks for the videos.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I enjoy any positive video, relating to cats & kittens, even if they don't give me any new information...Lol!!
6:54 Hi Butters
Without further a do . Not due
Ahhh yes, stretching, the strangest thing a cat can do
Why do cats drink from the toilet? When they are so careful about fresh water sources?
Because before the toilet is used the water is relatively fresh! Doubtful any cat is drinking from used toiletxwater.
@@SEJ3333 but toilet waters been through a purifying process even if unused so ud think it wouldn't smell so fresh! Plus toilet stain smells!
That one cat (shown three times) looks just like Claire's DD.
2:07 I believe is from Juns kitchen!
I would like to know why my cats dash in front of me when I am walking. It seems like they’re trying to get stepped on or trip me.
