Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for me. Tolga is an awesome place in Far North Queensland, which has charity status. By sending donations to them, they get a percentage (and deserve every cent) and they can allocate money to me for batty expenses without it becoming part of my income stream (which makes tax time difficult).

The Giving Fund doesn’t charge any fees (so the bats get more money) but PP doesn’t itemise out the amount, they just send a total every month, and we don’t know if the money is for Tolga or for Megabattie.

Just Meg, not Megan. I only get called Megan if I've been a really naughty girl, then I get the full name, in tones of disapproval from my Mother.
And the worst is having mother call me by the first, middle and last name. In deep doo-doo then.

LOL, I don't have a middle name so it's just the Megan with the surname. I'm still in deep doo-doo if it is uttered.

Awww... little Roses at the beginning, and Clawed the king of grapes, and so many others, I think I remember them all. Our budgies became quite explorative and mischievous in the meantime, nothing is safe, my parents are delighted 😁.

It's so heartwarming to see the bats being taken such good care of, then flying back to freedom in the colony you've created. Massive thank you to everyone involved in giving these beautiful animals a second chance of life. I'll never get to see one in real life, but I love watching your videos. PS I have a colony of little British bats who come put and fly around my garden in the summer, I sit our for hours watching them catch the huge dragon flies and moths we get as well. I used to be able to hear them until I was well into my 30's, unfortunately I can't hear them anymore, but I sit out for hours watching them. I love them ❤❤❤
When I'm in a microbat area I love to sit on the balcony or deck and watch their aerobatics; with a glass of bubbles, of course.

What a sweet and funny compilation - thank you! (much needed - we lost our senior colony cat Monday afternoon) I did not know flying foxes ate insects. Mum and Dad were hilarious - lol! And I see you've discovered a new bat species - that would be glovus blackus, eh. Thank you again.
When I found your channel I found my love of bats(sky kittens) god bless you and your work.
I accidentally found my love of the night flyers 17 years ago, and started the channel quite a bit later.
I joined wildlife rescue to care for parrot chicks in the spring chick season; someone I ended up doing bats exclusively and I'm not the faintest bit sorry.
Love the start with the little twittering desire for milk ... then the gobbling of mealworms, cicada, fruit ... 💖💕🇨🇦🦇

I remember these bats. Rose of Picardy was such a talkative little angel. Fofo The Micro grinding down worms is always cool to watch and looks like the band is ready to come off. Remember Tim Tam, and when Divabelle caught and crunched that succulent bug. Ha, Clawed that I thought of as Grape Eyes. I think he ended up with eight grapes in his mouth. Reggie was just so busy all the time. The micro that got loose in the bedroom, and the dressing gown bats. Icicle was just all-round precious and so was Twiggy. Tinker was smart and knew who was taking care of her. Nice liftoff from Auntie Jack. Oh yeah, the 'bat-shaped' glove. I wish your parents all the best. Do parrots interbreed?
Fofo was released with her band on; it was fine and not digging in.
There are occasional hybrids between species, but all my birds are cockatiels (I share them with a friend - sometimes she has them, sometimes I do).
Dad died about 3 months ago; Mum's learning to live as a singleton after 70 years of marriage.

Yes I have one cockatiel left, Babylon the Evil Bastard (Arkie died last year). I share him with a friend who has other cockatiels; sometimes she has them and sometimes I do.
The little grape guy didn't hurt himself by eating too many grapes, did he? Seeing his eyelids droop worried me when I first saw it.
The grape boy, Clawed (and also Chipmunk) were in total control of their intake. I didn't put it in their mouths. In the wild, the ability to stuff as much into their mouth as possible in one go is a survival skill.
If he didn't want it he'd just have refused; normally they would stuff their races, chew and suck a little, then spit out the pulp and go for more fruit; both these boys were a bit unusual in that they chose to not spit out the pulp but just take in more and more. It entertained me so much that I videoed it. Eventually both boys had to spit out the pulp before trying to eat more.
They only get juice out if it - the spit out the fibre after extracting the juice; the roof of their mouth is ridged and allows the fruit to be crushed against it and have the juice run down the ridges into their throat..

Ah, that was about 2 months ago now; I've had pneumonia then a reaction to the shingles vaccine, then I got a kidney stone since then.
I'm fine (mostly) now. @@MamaStyles
@@Megabattie Glad to hear things have cleared up! The worst sicknesses always happen in summer when you least expect it. I’ve had more kidney stones the last year than I ever had before but I think it due to dehydration from chemo on my end. But wishing you a winter free of anything nasty germ wise Meg 💕
The kidney stone is too big to pass, so I have a stent in now and they'll pulverise it in a few weeks (electively, not on a holiday weekend)

Love the clip at the end of Mom & Dad with their amazing flappy ear hats! What a joy to be able to spend time with your parents, I wish I would have taken more time with mine. But I can't be too mad about it given my economic circumstances and the distance involved, I did the best I could to see them.
