Okay, just checked their Insta and they describe it as "Pure Folk Metal" - I'm in 😉 What do you guys think?

no idea really. :) but i know they don't always sound the same. "Exile Of The Gods" is more a mainstream song than others. this band exists since many years, so there's much to check out.

Credit to you for exploring these for you new music styles, first of all.
More from Eluveitie: Rebirth , Inis Mona and King

They are swiss, they are amazing. A few years ago they changed their female vocalist, but this did not hurt, she's an amazing singer.
      Check out their song Rebirth.
Or some older ones e.g. Call of the mountain or King

So, i can recommend rebirth from them, really nice song, lots of instruments, but also there older albums have a lot nice stuff in them (inis mona or brictom) eluveitie is celtic folk metal, but with influences of death metal, so it is deathend celtic folk metal... and since stacking is fun: deathend celtic swiss folk metal... xD

So, Eluveitie (El-veiti if you try to pronounce it in a german way... i think it is old galish...) are from Winterthur, Switzerland (grüsse aus der Schweiz bei dieser gelegenheit)

Yes, more Celtic than Germanic in base but they are much more aware of the Celtic history than me and many if not most or all of their songs revolve around it. The horned guy is the horned hunter/ horned god, even in just the UK there is more than story. I think video games have taken over from the Victorians (in the UK) in taking old tales and reworking them into some thing more modern and without too much care for historical accuracy. In terms of songs well they have a wide variety but you are going to have ongoing issues with understanding that guy who is the founder and lead singer of the band - I'd recommend subtitles. Rebirth is always a strong suggestion because it's a little more mainstream, call of the mountains for a lighter style with the previous female singer, but I lean towards Aidus - same album as this and part of the same theme of action taking, or heavier older songs like King.

Thanks a lot for your input and the recommendations, I think "Rebirth" is next and probably not the last one ;)

@@scharsigo I forgot their recent collaboration with Faun in the song Gwydion - a nice mix of German and Welsh singing.

Wow, how many really good bands are there???
I've never heard of Eluveitie, but they're really good.
Style-wise they remind me of "Lacuna Coil" in the early years...

Lacuna Coil is one of those bands I know the name for centuries and the last song I heard is like 20 years old. Maybe I should check them out? 🤔

@@scharsigo Definitely yes!!! Cristina & Andrea just go so well together vocally. Unfortunately there are no videos of the early works.
Fun fact: An acquaintance of mine filled in as drummer at a gig when Leonardo Forti was not feeling well. It´a small world...
