Love this! Proud Fairmont native! That guy is right - it’s called “sauce” in Fairmont, not “chili.” Woody’s is the MVP in my book 🏆 but everyone has their own taste in a hotdog. And to be fair, what they call a “WV dog” in WV is a “NC dog” in NC - except they put “chili” on them in NC, not “sauce” 😂
I think it's a regional thing, down the road in Randolph County we call it chili or chili sauce, even though it is a meat sauce with no beans. Carolina dogs are just about the same, but in certain parts they use red slaw. Slaw is optional around the Elkins area. Fairmont is the home of the best banging pepperoni rolls around!
Born and raised in southern WV I loved the chili/slaw/mustard dog! So good! Now I live in the deep south and if i ask for slaw on my chili dog they look confused. I’ll go to Sonic and get chili dog and then KFC for slaw… There was a place in Raleigh Mall, Beckley circa 1980’s- Der Daughouse I think it was called. They had the best chili cheese dogs
In Northern WV, most people put SAUCE on their Hot Dog, no slaw. We do NOT call it Chili. Woody's is my favorite! I like these videos, thanks for sharing. :)
Woody's has great slaw for topping on a hotdog. Further, "we" includes a lot of us, including me....and I call it chili sauce. Come to Westover and try a WV hotdog at Hometown Hot Dogs,
Also do a pepperoni roll vid please - and WV invented the first tooth brush - had it been invented anywhere else itd been called the teeth brush. ;) You wont find better ppl than in WV. We'll fix your flat tire and give you gas when you get lost.
hey love the video man if you ever come to Pennsylvania come to the "Doghouse" in reading PA they have all sorts of crazy dogs my favorite is the devine dog has a piece of fried Canadian bacon, diced jalapenos, cheese, and a little ranch dressing its a flavor explosion
We have one more video to finish our search for the best West Virginia style hot dog. Then we start the most unique, I’d love to go to the Doghouse. That Devine Dog sounds great!
There are two kinds of hot dogs... Yann's & everything else. Yann's has been in business continuously since 1927 so they must be doing something right. Legendary.
In this video, we are looking for the best West Virginia style hot dog and Yanns doesn’t have slaw, so they weren’t judged. Please search this channel for the Yanns and Chocolate Milk video because we love them too. Thanks for watching.
Midway has some good hot dogs but I recommend Bogeys Driving Range in Tornado, WV on your way down to Huntington and I’ve had 284 WV Style Hot Dogs in WV.
Yann's sauce even the mild is too spicy for my wife, I loved them with the hot sauce they wanted you to drink chocolate milk when you ate them. We both like Hometime Hotdogs, she gets the mild with slaw I get medium or hot with onions and slaw. We do them frequently
The Clendenin Dairy Queen had the best hotdogs. No competition. The 2016 flood took it, but if you are from Clendenin or ever had one, you know. Not that Dairy Queen franchise crap. The Newmans had their own recipe. Nothing compared.
We were in search of the best West Virginia Style Hot Dog. However, we made separate video about Yanns. You can find that video on the channel under Unique Hot Dogs.
Woodys have the best. No slaw. I live in SC now but love coming home to Fairmont and Woodys
im in South Carolina as well
Where is this place? I'm near Parkersburg, nothing great here!

Yeah, but in NC they use those awful looking dyed-pink weenies.
Woody's uses the cheapest tasting weiners. Get the sauce bun. Mustard, onion and sauce only.

I remember that Der Doghause! It was pretty good.
Your time and effort on this hot dog opus is appreciated.
Thank you for watching

Yes. It has slaw. Otherwise order your chili dog and be on your way.
Also glad you hit up Hometown in Granville. They're about the best IMO.
Im not above upvoting myself on this comment.

RIP Sanitary Hot Dogs of Clarksburg.

I love Dairy Creme Corner. I am from a bit south of Huntington and I stop at DCC every time I go to Morgantown.
Did you guys try Ritzy’s in Clarksburg?
I'm sorry, we did not make it to that place, it's Ritzy's Lunch? If I go to Ritzy's to they make a Unique Hot Dog? I so, what is it?

Woody's is the GOAT.
Apex cinematography.
Show Huntington some love. Try Cams hams! Great sandwiches!!!!!
Granted this video is for hot dogs. What is the best thing to have a cams hams?
Ham sandwich is legendary. Place has been here a long time. Onion rings are awesome too.
@@timothymiddlekauff8889 I WILL GO! VIDEO TO BE RELEASED LATE JANUARY 2023.
I often used to head to Cams for lunch when I was at Cammack Junior High. Adkins Fat Boy (Later Dwight's) too.
I've had dogs from all over the country. Slaw dogs from Midway West in Huntington are the best IMO. Can't wait for my next visit to the Tri-state.
Midway has some good hot dogs but I recommend Bogeys Driving Range in Tornado, WV on your way down to Huntington and I’ve had 284 WV Style Hot Dogs in WV.
@HaveFunWV Thanks for the suggestion! I'll try to get by there in the late summer.
Tito's Sloppy Dogs up here in Wheeling! Yes, there's coleslaw cuz that's the right way 😂
You need to go to Bluefield Wv Dairy Queen homie.
as someone who grew up between Morgantown and Fairmont. Its funny how the hot dogs are different. Morgantown uses the slaw and Fairmont does not
Yann's sauce even the mild is too spicy for my wife, I loved them with the hot sauce they wanted you to drink chocolate milk when you ate them. We both like Hometime Hotdogs, she gets the mild with slaw I get medium or hot with onions and slaw. We do them frequently
The way I have always ate an WV hot dog was cony sauce Cole slaw relish ketchup and mustard
Genes Dogs are better drunk.
Any hot dog is better drunk.
The OTHER Slaw-Optional Region!
I have never heard of slaw on hot dogs.
@@deedeew4040 welcome to the West Virginia Style Hot Dog.
@@HaveFunWV I love hot dogs. I will try it.
@@deedeew4040 enjoy.
Sorry slaw goes on a WV hotdog always. Without just a chili dog with onions and mustard.
That’s exactly what I told the guys. They seemed to like it after I let them try it.
Slaw dog is a southern wv thing.
Woodys is the best

Sorry. I heard many good things about that DQ.
B&L Hotdogs and Yanns Fairmont were the best and 8th Street (Steak, cheese and hot peppers hoagies

@@HaveFunWV I have the recipe
B & L Hotdogs moved to Asheville, North Carolina I heard
@@matthutchinson3139 bummer.
Sauce chili and onions
Huntington sauce has real meat! Just don't ask what kind of meat. 😜
🤣🤣🤣
Turned this off when no Yann's. Slaw on a dog is a southern West Virginia thing.
