Summer is coming, which means that... Camino season is here!
From the 9th of May, the state of alarm in Spain has come to an end, which means that some restrictions and travel bans might be lifted. Pilgrim's albergues (aka public hostels) are slowly starting to re open, which means that the Camino is coming to life after the crisis of Covid-19. We don't know how the Camino will be this summer yet; full because of the Xacobeo 2021? Empty because of coronavirus?
No one knows, but we know sure it will be different and we need to be prepared bc it is almost here! And today I want to talk about one of the most important aspects to consider when traveling to Spain; the backpack.
And you know what? U know what yet? I M STILL WAITING TO SEE SOMEONE DOING IT LIGHTER THAN I DID. In 2018 I walked the Camino Portugues from Porto to Santiago de Compostela for 12 days with ONLY a 3 kg / 7 lbs backpack

So freshing to see a video of minimalist packing for the Camino without obsession with brand names and needlessly expensive gears like most videos out there👏
Great video. Instead of large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, etc., look for good quality solid bars. A NZ company called Ethique even sell minis as well as the full size bars, and I am sure you can buy them overseas. I have them sent to Australia and always take them with me overseas. And I use the larger sizes here at home. Having walked the Camino, I totally agree with taking vaseline and the sheet bag.
I would bring a couple lightweight dresses and sunscreen. and chapstick. And a hat. But i get sunburn easy.
I wouldnt bring a notebook. Id use my phone.
But this list is great! So light!!!!

Answer: of course I did! This is an example of what I carry. I am not particularly needy or anything, so my goal is to carry as little as possible. If you feel like you would need to carry more (or less) stuff.... no judgement here!
