This is my pfp on Discord, thanks man. Just got to the build sheet under the seat. It is almost midnight on a Sunday and I just went to the garage and took out my rear seat. Super rad knowledge. Will be doing that to one I am picking up in North Carolina next month.
Flipping excellent video. It reminds me of the show where the two Brits buy a fixer upper and the short one did the buying and selling while the really tall guy was the mechanic. Looks like you're wearing both hats, but also have some wonderful help. Great work.
What jacks & blocks did you use? I really like the setup you had for cleaning the underside and want to replicate it. I assume you put them on the frame rails? I feel like my e36 is always a PITA to get on all 4s lol. Nice video!
Stands are 6 Ton OTC stands, the jack used was a Harbor Freight, though to get the car a bit higher for the 6 Ton stands, I had to use a 4x4 wood block on top of the stand on the rear subframe. Between the jack stands and the car I have 2x4 pieces of wood to avoid marring, the fronts ended up splitting in the middle a bit cause the wood was wider than the frame rails they sat on (all was ok). In the rear since I was jacking the car up via the subframe, I removed the two rear jack pads and placed jackstands with 2x4's right on top of the holes where the jack pads click in (as they're now flat with the pads removed). Big ramble, hope that makes sense!

Absolutely not. The only E36 M3's that either are worth or will be worth $100k are LTW's and GT's. Outside of that E36 M3's can be had for $2k to $60k depending on trim, mileage, condition, spec, colors etc. $2k being on the very very very rough side. Also will most likely be a convertible which is the least desirable. E36s are not about value or making money. They are great driving cars. Trying to flip them is stupid in my personal opinion.
@@imtiredbosss They probably mean in many years down the road. Remember when good E30 M3’s were under $10,000 and considered pieces of ish? The dollar goes down, the clean ones get fewer and far between, demand goes up. Friends and I just bought a pile of an E36 M3 shell with no interior or engine for $250, so yeah, we can say the latter depending on details is huge.
@@SamHurly worrying about the value of a car 1 year from today to me is pointless, so worrying about a cars value 10/20/30 years from is just kind of otherworldly? Whats the point, whos that going to benefit. Anyone who bought an E30 M3 for cheap back then and let it just sit for 20 years isn’t better off today. I see cars like the E36 as a money sink (still love em tho). We do not have Mclaren F1’s, 250 GTO’s and garages with climate control and people who we pay to maintain these cars. Viewing them as investments sucks the fun out of it and is only for people with blue chip cars like the ones I just mentioned. Bringatrailer and its consequences have been a disaster to the car community. E36 M3s (and E30 M3s) are depreciating assets in the grand scheme of things. a new set of tires and your "investment" is down 10%. Come on!
its not poorsha unless you're speaking german you dorks lol, do you call your friends named michael "me hile"? noooo you also dont call bmw "bay em vay" because we speak english so its poorsh make sense? lol. Anyways nice work.
Lol sup dork, it’s however I want to say it lol, if I had a german friend I probably would say his name the German way cause that’s fun and where he’s from LOL. Anyways thanks.
Sam's detail work did not disappoint. Car is beautiful in person

Found on my own immediately too, super cool info from the guy in the BaT comments.

This is such a beautiful E36 - The spec is really unique
Thanks for the motivation. I did a first spring clean, oil change and window regulator motor replacement yesterday, this makes for wanting to do more
I remember seeing this on sale.
Underrated transition at 7:00
Someone got a steal on this!
What a gorgeous car. Very nice.
