Brian Schieble top 5 ? Earls arguably number 1 ... hes def the best 9 ball pure shot maker to ever pick up a cue ... he has 5 us open titles and 5 world title's... efren has 1 us open ... when earl was in his prime and he was playing at his highest speed he could run over anyone in the world and make it look easier than it is ... if earl wasn't his own worse enemy he would've been even better and.nobody would be in the conversation with him

Earl the Pearl runs more racks than anyone else percentage wise. and almost always on the last Rack in a hill hill game. Love him or hate him he loves the game as much as anyone that ever lived. People called him crazy like they did when he went to the longer cue, now several players have followed in that regard. I can't imagine being that great and making the paltry money he did playing pool. It's not fair and I think it made him a little bitter. He respects other players who love the game and work hard at it like Shane and Efren. Hard work and training got into where he is. No one can say he doesn't take this sport seriously." Earl the squirrel, greatest pool player in the whole wide world." He put that on a t-shirt when he was very young and then made it come true. Who else you know that can say that? He's very misunderstood. A great athlete tennis golf pool you name it. I used to not like him at all but the older I get the bar I understand his frustration at people not trying to respect the game. Sorry I got on a rant! Long little Earl The Pearl

YOU KNOW WHY EARL IS THE GOAT? Because pool is natural to him. Watch him shoot. He dont need 5 mins to figure out a shot or a run. He breaks an because pool is so natural to him the runout is already laid out in his head.HE'S A POOL GENIUS. NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE EARL DA PEARL STRICKLAND

Earl Strickland the best 9 ball player of all time. In his prime he was almost unbeatable.

I completely understand how Earl Strickland rubs people the wrong way and how he’s his own worst enemy at times. But make no mistake about it Strickland is the greatest 9-ball player of all time. It was a privilege watching him play when he was in his prime.

What a fantastic full cue jump shot at 0:51 - thanks for uploading, very special!
I know it's possibly a tall order to ask, but does anyone know what cues Earl is shooting with here please?

Having said, What one would hear in league play is this: "What has the guy been looking at for so long, then ends up doing the obvious thing anyhow?" Of course he does. That doesn't mean he's stalling. He's just paying attention to what deserves to be taken seriously. Anyone with true love and knowledge of the game can tell. Well done!

First time I have watched a full Buddy Hall match. Very impressive. IMHO, he looked the better player overall, and Earl had some luck. However, Earl played that final critical rack perfectly.

Watch 6:34 to 7:26 - this is why I sometimes think, shot clocks are silly. While this would have been the only extension Earl would have needed to take in the hill game, I don't quite see who's to judge the difficulty of the shot per se. As one can see by the rhythm and velocity with which Earl ends up shooting it ever so cleanly down the rail, it apparently passes the middle pocket knuckles. But it IS a difficult situation and big shot, worth making doubly sure, IMHO.
