You made this look easy and all by hand when you had to pull out the old one, no impact drill .. cheers mate. Thanks to you I might be tempted to try this myself if ever needed.. thank you sir!
So i just did this job exactly the same way, same bearing and I think putting my bearing in the freezer cause the inner race to pop out when i pressed it in. Never seem that before. I pressed the oute race with the same tool, same cups you used and the inner race popped out. Luckily i had another bearing of lesser quality so i installed that one just fine. I also had to use a torch to heat the knuckle since the bearing was royally seized and ended up ruining my wheel speed sensor! The joys of car mechanics… anyways great video
Similar to this kit. I think they are pretty much all the same… www.amazon.ca/Orion-Motor-Tech-Automotive-Attachments/dp/B07MBJQGNH/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?crid=2PAH2VXXOB0QI&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.9IMOtVZ_Q8E37A8Ks7lENf02a_R2QETBWZ7kRMPHjO-booG_Y__MSxT9U_yJBwsE4kkuaklXQsOY5tBHGyOkP0DW9mB-04FXOARatImGG2_KctjxfkT8GYU9hOOi6qweIvgsSFSv7pQFa4UlmS72yCZWhJ8J9ZK-dK9bOEiEgeTfL7cOOnLXBqPODNSJ2T35x8Hl1ag8mORb7GW7nMShKQ.Bs1TKxPNg36G3w3BAO87oJ7S_nmy865cSafx0tEUxLU&dib_tag=se&keywords=slide+hammer+puller+kit&qid=1710184612&sprefix=slide+ha%2Caps%2C101&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1
Well presented and informative video. Though my speakers where defective, has some one complained about your accent. Perhaps you should have a drink of Bushmills whiskey to help get your voice back.
Thanks so much. No not at all. Although admittedly it is a weird nasally mashup of Scottish & Canadian 🤣 Just give people a break from my ramblings once in awhile 😬 Thx again Cheers 👍
Hello from France thanks for your vidéos on sx4 1.6 Diesel ddis I M doing the timing belt and I M stopped by à problèm No More engine speed information and therefore no more gear I guess I did à mistake on the timing The cam pulley i's not properly put. Can you help me Thanks and congrat for your work
Thank you Sir. I am afraid I can’t offer much help. Double check your reference cylinder (usually #1) was on the correct stroke (usually TDC compression) relative to cam(s) index positions. Good luck thx for watching.
Hey man I always watch your repairs on the sx4 and you've helped me a lot. I knew nothing about cars but slowly getting there repairing my sx4 slowly but surely. I need some advice, I've just replaced the front left wheel hub knuckle, but I've noticed that the wheel is sitting diagonal on the vehicle, the part I used look identical and fitted perfectly. But it still didn't sit well ? I checked the numbers of the knuckle and the numbers don't match? Is that the issue, or do I need to get a wheel alignment done
Thanks. Not sure if you a referring to diagonal on the vertical (camber) or horizontal (toe) plane…Camber is primarily a function of the two bolts (through holes can be slotted) that attach to the strut. But I suspect you are referring to toe, normally adjusted via the tie rod end (altering rod length). Attach components, strut and lower control arm and structure must be free of damage/deformation. And of course the correct knuckle installed. Prior considering a simple alignment. Which as you say, maybe all that’s required. Good luck. Cheers 👍
Thx. And yes…The same puller that pulls the hub early in the video with the slide hammer, can be used with a forcing screw to press. That usually works. Failing that heat it and beat it 🤣 with the old axle nut still on (to protect the threads) just loosened a few threads for travel. Cheers 👍

Yeah it’s not too bad. Thx for watching. Cheers 👍

Yeah it can be very frustrating at times. I have destroyed a lot of stuff over the years. Experience is never free. Thx for watching 🍻
Thanks, greetings from Poland
Hello & thx for watching. Vive la Polska 👍
Hi what puller set have you used here
Thanks

I'm a bit disappointed the dishwasher wasn't used as well 😊
Next time 🤣 Cheers Iain 👍
Great job, how much miles in the old one???
Thx. 333,000 KMS on the original bearing. Cheers 👍

I have that same Chinese puller set. Done 4 similar bearings bearing swaps. It could use a thrust bearing (D5 or D7?).
Yeah that would take some of the load off the forcing screw threads I think…Still I thought it performed pretty well. Thx for watching. Cheers 👍
Nice work. From one rusty place to another have you ever had the axle get stuck in the hub. Any tips? Looks like this one came out easy-ish
Thx. And yes…The same puller that pulls the hub early in the video with the slide hammer, can be used with a forcing screw to press. That usually works. Failing that heat it and beat it 🤣 with the old axle nut still on (to protect the threads) just loosened a few threads for travel. Cheers 👍
You made that look easy, top work 👍🍺
Thx Ian. It’s pretty straight forward 🍻
Now do one where you talk
🤐🤣 Thx for watching 🍻
👍
Thx Boss 👍
Too much waffle
🤣 Down to two words next time. Cheers Dave 👍
