Now it's up to a jury to decide what they see is true or not. Its entire mess but I cant help but to remain hopeful. In the meantime, there still needs to be some change taken place in the justice system
It's really sad that they want the change to happen from injustice of individualis (African Americans) who are being accused. It starts within the system. That's a lot of time that the justice system takes away from innocent people only to compensate them with money... they compensate them with money and the same time, theres no reprimand for the injustice committed

Just finished watching the movie "Just Mercy". I read the book previously in college and my family is actually from Monroe County, AL. Telling people who've never been there about the overt racism has always been challenging. I'm glad there's books, movies, and interviews that can put things in context for people to see

Reading the book and then watching this is so surreal. I’ve read all about this and read all about these people, but seeing what they actually look like, sound like and act like, just makes the story all the more painful. It’s horrifying how this is real, and the overlap that comes from when you read the book and see the words “60 minutes interview” and then watch it, it really does just settle in that every single part of this was real, every word spoken, every injustice and every bit of pain, were something that actually did happen. It was disturbing to read, but it’s almost unreal to watch.

Even if Ralph Myers said the victims mouth was opened and the position of her body, he may have been shown a picture of her at the scene! It’s not unlike the cops to look after each other and i’m sure when they pressured him into making a false statement they persuaded him even more by showing him crime scene photos. Despicable that an innocent man went to prison facing death!
