Finally a decent 12v explanation video. I constantly have customers why their batteries have clagged out so quickly when they’ve run them to 0% or they buy a 50amp charger and expect me to install it on a 120ah agm battery with a 30amp max charge rate or they want to run a 3000w inverter off the same 120ah with a low recommended discharge rate. I think I’ll find myself sharing this video to them. It’ll save me hours in calls, messages and emails. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 thanks shauno you legend.
We have just bought a 2017 Ford Ranger Wildtrak and starting to slowly set it up. Just bought a 140ah Giant battery for duel setup. Wanting to run lights, fridge and charge camera gear. Not long been in the 4x4 world and find your vids extremely helpful, keep up the great work team.
Hey Shauno, I have a 2019 Triton with a stock standard Hitachi battery. I'm looking to upgrade to a dual battery system like you have in the dirty 30. I would love to have a break from work and travel around Australia to explore our country and give the kids an experience they will remember for a lifetime!
My son and I are doing up a GU Series 2 wagon as a joint project car - currently running a SBI12 isolator and one of my hand me down batteries but for our Cape trip later this year we're upgrading her to a LiFePO4 and BCDC1250D to run his fridge and camp set up. Love your work Shauno, education disguised as entertainment is a winner!!
Busy building a VW Amarok (for me. Brother is doing a 105) to tour to Namibia. Starting to build my canopy soon. We have to be completely self sustainable, so this is a must for both of us. Shout out from South Africa!
Awesome video gents! I was literally hunting around for a video on 12v setups earlier today, so must've been in the air already. I've got a Ford Ranger with a Tommy Camper on the back (you Oz boys build bloody tanks when it comes to campers). I have a solar panel and the next thing to tackle will be the DC to DC and lighting/charging outlets (just building the courage and letting a few more paychecks roll through). Will also be running a small Engel fridge, lights and a heater for the chilly NZ nights. I've learned heaps watching your videos, so congrats on succeeding where all my school teachers failed. 🤟🤪
After watching 20 videos. This is the first one that mentioned fixed voltage alternator. Thank you, that was the information someone actually needs. I'm guessing the other channels I watched just want to sell a product, because fixed voltage is pretty important information that they all just happened to leave out. Cheer man !
2001 GU patrol. About to do the whole redarc system (dual battery, solar on my RTT, fridge and phone charger in the back on the wagon). Had no idea until I watched your redarc video and this one 👌
I have a 98 jeep cherokee xj, I have a yellow top under the hood, a yellow top in the trunk. I want my system to be able to keep my fridge cool, charge flash lights, and to run power to anything needed at the campsite or if worse case to be able to use long term in a bug out situation. I'm gonna wanna run solar at some point too.... Thanks for all the info shauno this subject seems soo easy but is actually kind of technical and you and gram, jocko and the whole crew inform us sooo darn well... thanks 24/7..... you make overlanding soooo appealing ...
2014 ranger, 170amp deep cycle battery, running a fridge, Inverter, lights, cig & USB Sockets, travel buddy. Good video to explain to people that don't know. Great stuff 👍👍
Landed in the country 4 weeks ago from the UK, bought a 2011 GU CRD today (my first ever 4WD) and my Girlfriend and I are planning to explore this beautiful country and do some beginners touring so just need to run a few lights and a small fridge for now. Starting out from our new home near Brisbane and its all thanks to you guys at 4WD 24-7 for getting us up to speed with the Do's and Don't of 4WD'ing
I’ve got a 1988 hj75, currently got an old redarc isolator and running 2 old deep cell batteries. Working on updating the whole electrical system and jumped on your channel to get some ideas. I work as an arborist and end up out the bush heaps so I run an inverter, fridge and need enough juice to keep my climbing saw battery’s running. Pretty clear now I’m saving for the redivision.
We have a 11' GU patrol with a isolator dual battery system. In the back we run a 60lt fridge and also have a van attached. I've purchased 2 slim agm batteries to go in the back of our patrol instead of a huge one under bonnet and a better charging system would be a dream! Loved watching this episode, great& informative
Hey Shauno. I’ve just got home from three days in my backyard. VHC. Started at Dargo up to the beautiful Bluerag. Camped just near Mt Freeout was amazing but my old 12 v isolator system failed me. Fridge out not good at all. Just watched your recent 12 volt advise story. Please please my 2009 hilux canopy setup really would appreciate a new REDVISION upgrade. Appreciate all you and the guys do keeping us updated. Keep it up mate.
Good day Shauno, I have a 2003 Perado 120 and keen to put in a dual battery setup with a Lion SMFDCM31 12v CCA 800 battery. These videos make it so much easier and make me excited! You have saved me from ruining my batteries with my charger. Cheers
Hey Shauno, I'm from California and I have a 1996 toyota 4runner that I'm building for extended trips into the wild. The final component I am missing is a 100-150ah lithium battery and a management system to control camp lights, power an inverter, and run a fridge. I have seen sooo many hours of your videos! They are the best 4 wheelin videos on youtube! keep em coming please! hopefully another big trip is planned for the near future? Cheers!
I have a tough as old boots 1994 LN106 that I bought to get into camping with my 3 and 6yo boys. I just scored a canopy shell that I have to fit out so a 12v system is exactly what I need right now.
I recently picked up a 1998 Landcruiser 105 and absolutely loving it! It came with a simple dual battery setup and cheap isolator. I'd love to set it up with a reliable 12v system ready for touring this beautiful country.
Building up my U.S.1994 jeep cherokee. Wanting dual batteries to run lights, 12v accessories and a refrigerator.. Thank you Shanno for these tips and tricks.
I'm a battery nerd, so currently running twin 280ah 12V LiPo (Lithium Polymer) home builds with custom BMS setups on each. They take stacks of charge and can run an entire camp including great tunes for a long weekend without a sweat.. Love it! It's currently not tied to the 12v on the Disco due to LiPo charge profiles not matching alternator output. Instead, I use a home charging system to top things off for now, with future plans looking towards a Redarc or similar with 2 solar briefcases for longer trips, and a 2nd alternator custom tuned to put out a constant 14.6-14.8v charge profile to match the heavier needs of my LiPo setup.
1986 GMC K20 Suburban. 2x 100ah AGM 12v cells. She's ancient but reliable. I was lucky enough to find one with a 4-speed manual. I love that tank. Don't run anything fancier than a fridge or maybe a hot plate if I don't feel like cooking with propane/butane.
Hey guys as an accessory fitter myself this is a great insight video for everyone else to learn and understand there setup, shoutout to Shauno! Got a 2006 D40, wanting to do a redarc bcdc with a slimline battery setup behind the back seat would looove the redarc redvision setup too with a few outlets around the car for those camping trips away with the family or just a beach trip!
Great info video! I have a 2011 Toyota Tundra. I go over landing pulling an off road camper all most every weekend. Weather never stops me. Rain or snow is part of the experience. I run a freg, air compressor, marine oven. I have no Solar yet. My truck has a smart Alternator with two batteries. DC to DC 2 30 amp factory spec batteries. I will be upgrading at some point to solar but will stay with a DC to DC system. My new project is a 1978 fj40 LC. It has a LS 3 crate motor, automatic transmission, power steering, and air-conditioning. Should be on the road in about three weeks. Oh yeah the tub is all aluminum. Thanks for you videos I follow your channel all the time. Great work!
Land Rover Freelander 2, Smart Alternator Charger. With a 1 and 3 year old on the trailer. Ensuring a solid power supply for heaters, bottle warming and generally keeping them safe is my top priority. Great vid as usual guys 👌
Ford Ranger PX3 Dual cab, standard battery. Planning on a dual battery system to run; Dometic fridge/freezer, camping lights, air compressor, maybe a water tank. To be adaptable to solar so I can stay longer off grid and enjoy the great outdoors. 😁👍
Hey shauno, I've got a 105 series landcruiser that we have been setting up the past 12 months of covid for a trip of a lifetime with the fam. We are gonna need power for all our camping lights, chargers, small appliances and most importantly our fridge to keep all the iron jack just the right temperature. See you on the tracks
As a member of two fishing clubs (a ANSA saltwater club, as well as a freshwater club member) I'm just about to set up my 4x4 with a dual battery system i.e. I've bought the Dometic fridge and a solar panel, so now I'm saving my pennies (while still having a fish and enjoying a cold one, haha) to buy the DCDC charger etc. Cheers for uploading a informative video and in my case well timed.
I'm just starting my overlanding journey. For this, I have a 1996 80 Series Landcruiser GXL 4.5L petrol (I know, I know, it's not a diesel, but beggars can't be choosers - I inherited this awesome 80 from my older sister). Before really knowing much about 12V systems, I bought and mounted at the back a Baintech 120Ah AGM Powertop portable battery. The Baintech Powertop comes with a built-in VSR. It also has an unregulated solar input to which I have a 160W solar panel connected to it that's permanently mounted on the roof rack. This unit also has an input for a DC charge, but I don't have this connected as I don't have a DC-DC charger, I use the Powertop to power a dual zone fridge/freezer and LEDs lights that I use while camping. But if I can start over again, I'd get a 100Ah lithium battery with a DC-DC/Solar-DC set-up. I'd also like to put in a 2nd battery under the bonnet to power accessories that I plan to install (ie. like driving lights, light bars and UHF radios, and maybe even a winch etc.). So winning a quality product like Redarc would help heaps.
I have a 1996 FZJ80 with stock battery setup. I just got lights and I’m saving up for a fridge so this video is perfect timing because I was looking up how to setup dual batteries. I think I’m gonna go the charger route like you were suggesting. It would be an amazing prize to win. Also thanks for the amazing content y’all put out. Y’all basically got me into off roading!
2012 d40 Navara with a tray an canopy which I tow a camper with, I’m aiming to be able to charge 2 batteries in it to run a fridge an charge camper at the same time so we can camp off grid for longer periods of time. Cheers fellas great videos as usual!
I have a 2014 Jeep JKU. Running a single Odyssey battery connected to a Renogy solar charge controller- 100 watt panel- not enough! Dometic fridge, Hard Korr 7” lights on the bumper. Cube lights on the A pillars and rear of roof rack. Front and rear cameras, Weboost cell booster, CB radio, GMRS radio, ARB dual compressor, Warn winch, Redarc trailer brake controller, iphone, iPad, Garmin inReach, upgraded stereo system with Apple CarPlay. Hard Kor light strips on awning. Goal Zero Yeti 400 to recharge electronics at camp that I then have to recharge from the Jeep battery or from solar if I have time and sun. Needless to say my single battery system is way way over loaded. I’m always checking the amperage of the battery while in camp, instead of sitting around the fire with my mates enjoying beers after a great day of wheeling. Shauno - thanks for considering me for the win!
Bought a dmax november last year after having a hilux and watching Graham take is his dmax everywhere the big rigs go, Car was bone stock and got slugged with covid tax bigtime but I couldn't be without a 4x4. Want to run an agm behind the rear seat to run my fridge to keep the beers cold when im out on the tracks but the system has been put on the back burner so I could bush proof the rest of the car( bullbar, bash plates sliders, lift and tyres) Loving the content, keep it coming boys
I've just bought a 140ah GIANT, Isolator installed, Ctek 25amp 240v Charger, but don't have a DC to DC charger yet. I've been running an ArkPak for the Waeco CFX50 fridge but want to step up the entire system in the 2013 RG Colorado. Love the show !!
Hey Shauno, I Have a 1986 Bj74 13bt Landcruiser 120ah deep cycle agm battery and to run camp light for hours after dark, 45l fridge and charge phones to keep up with the inspiring videos.
Gday Shauno!! Well done on the funds raised for the young fula to get to the U.S.A!! The clean up the bush movement is awesome work aswell. Ive been building up a '96 80series, 33's 2inch lift and turbo, intercooler and 3 inch exhaust for a while now. the missus and I got a fridge recently and man did it make a difference. The Redarc isolator we used with our 100ah second battery worked a treat. We took 46 beers in a 60 litre fridge and loved it!!! Now we need to build a great 12v with solar so we can stay out on the tracks even longer. Any help would be such a blessing. Keep up the great content we love you guys and the things you do to keep us moving in the right direction out bush.
Hi Shauno and crew. I have a 2013 (non facelifted) Prado, running one starter century battery. Nothing else. Am on a mission to put Prados back into the hearts of other Landcruiser owners. Being gifted the charger would be amazing, and I would compliment it with a 1000W inverter and a lithium Battery. Id love to go up north with the boys, with enough juice to power speakers, lights and fridges throughout the night. Thanks so much for reading and I hope to see your comment next to mine :)
I got a MN Triton 2014, I have a cheapo Lithium 100AH, my wife works with me and I just want to be able to run the fridge in the canopy 24/7 stocked with cool drinks and lunches for work and then of course have it lasting for as long as we wanna camp whenever and wherever!
Hey Shauno and 4WD24/7 crew, I’ve got a 2018 76 LandCruiser and would love a quality Redarc system. Currently have a 105 AGM in battery box only. Need to keep the family well fed with my 60lt fridge, run camp lights and take a solar charger. Keep up the great work!
I have a 1995 grand cherokee and I'm currently running one AGM under the hood. The goal is to set it up for camping with a second battery, a fridge, air compressor, lighting, and a welder for when I break something on my wrangler or when my friends break their rig. It's basically going to be a support/camp vehicle.
I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JKU. Wanting a dual battery setup. Have the Odyssey 1500 as a starter battery now and I'll be buying a second for my dual. As a family, we love camping for a week or two at a time. We need the ability to solar charge our setup that we run a fridge, camp lights, and charge our devices like a drone, tablets, phones, chainsaw and mobile lights. I would definitely love to have a more permanent setup rather than a portable goal Zero type of solution. Cheers from Canada!
G'day Shauno, I'm in a 2019 Ranger 2.0L. Current twelve volt setup is a 130amp AGM in a battery box that gets strapped in when going bush. Any longer than a day or two and a solar blanket gets plugged into it otherwise it's just charged in the shed before traveling. It'd be sweet to be able to leave it in the ute so there's always cold beers on hand!
I’m scooting around in the old 03 td42 coil cap patrol, I’ve got a more minimal setup, a fridge and a swag strapped to the rear, off of a deep cycle battery run on an isolator. All I want from it is a reliable fridge that can run 24/7 without worrying about my battery !
Hi Shauno been saving hard for the best part of 2 years now to buy my first real 4x4, I have decided on the Mitsubishi Triton (after watching your 20/21 best ute shows) as it offers best value for money and reliability, I am about 6 months away from purchase and have been slowly buying bits and pieces to have it ready for the tracks asap, I am going to run 2 x 140 Amp/hr AGM as lithium are still way to expensive. I have 2 old 40L fridges and a 1500w sine wave inverter, I just purchased an induction cooker as well under $60 bucks works well (would love to cook up a storm like you guys do) I will also be carrying a 120w solar panel for those lazy days.Myself and the wife want to trip Australia so a touring set up would be amazing. Keep up the good work love your content.
I'm late for the competition but I was thinking about a solar charged dual battery system to run ditch lights, winch, light bar and fridge on my 4runner. These type of videos are super helpful, I'm learning a lot and planning on a good set up.
Hey Team! We've just brought a 2003 Holden Rodeo (3L T). We've had to replace our crank battery as the old one went flat in 2 days of owning it! We brought a century. We are preparing to do our first lap around Aus - so are looking to get a deep cycle, dcdc and inverter. We've got the solar panels ready to hook up!
I have a 2014 Isuzu D max dual cab and am current acquiring everything I need to take my wife and 3 young daughters on a 12 month lap around our great country next year!! Chasing a 12v system to service one agm battery, dcdc charger, fridge, 240v inverter and lighting. 👍🍻
I recently bought a ML Triton with a dual battery set-up with a Redarc isolator. The auxiliary battery is pretty small and not up to running a fridge and lights for very long. I think eventually I need to upgrade to have two auxiliary batteries. One in the car, and one in a battery box that I can remove so I can keep the family with power at camp whilst I go bush with the boys and explore the tracks.
Just. Managed to find 1989 80 series 1Hdt. Would love to put in a huge aux system for fridges, freezer, lights, water pumps etc! Gotta keep the boss happy!
Have a 2017 nissan navara. It lives in the forest with me literally. I need a smart charger to charge a sealed battery to power a webasto hot water tap and a fridge, oh and my batteries for my power tools if required. Love the channel keep it up guys. 💪💪
Great video! In my 2017 Hilux 2.8, I have a DIY 128Ah lithium battery with a Victron 30A DCDC and a Victron 75/10 MPPT coupled with a 100W solar panel. All this to keep the fridge full of cold beers, the freezer full of steaks and a couple of LED lights.
2020 Mitsubishi Triton would love to get a dual battery setup going for a fridge and some power for those longer trips away with my 3yr old. Show her this great country
G'day Shauno, I have a 80 series landcruiser and have just the two agm batteries at the moment. I am hoping to get a set up that let's me and the boys get longer weekends away and not having to worry about the beer getting warn, or the push starts to get home. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
Got a Prado 2015 model. Me and my two littles love going on beach trips with the fridge. I run 2 batteries 140 Ah agm and 100 ah agm. Keeps the beet and chocolate milk chilled. Cheers Sal
Hey Shauno, I have an 80 series with dual agm deep cycle batteries running the first RedArc charger you showed, which now I've learnt is the wrong charger for my car. When I'm back in Perth definitely going to swap it out. Great video, thank you!
Just scrolled through all 1400 comments looking for another Ford Everest owner and only saw one! Info is hard to find on outfitting the Everests so been watching a heap of your videos, thanks! Reckon I've missed the boat here but worth a shot: Ford Everest, looking to run a 200ah LiFePO4 battery with solar input for keeping our fridge, area lights and a few other creature comforts going during weekend trips and when my partner is on field work! Keep up the great videos
Did comment on the original upload, but here we go again haha. I'm in the process of making my 12v system. I've got a 1995 Suzuki Vitara LWB My second battery is a 100ah Lifepo4 lithium. I want to be able to charge the lithium battery without stressing out my alternator, and I want to be able to run a fridge, camping lights, air compressor and phone chargers. Getting the car ready for a camping trip to tassy in May Thanks for all the videos :)
Building a 2010 Colorado up to be self efficient while we’re out in the bush with the family. We are using a 105a/h battery in a battery box at the moment, looking for a half size canopy to set up the 12v system properly. It runs a fridge and camp lights. We Take an small inverter to charge camera and drill batteries when we need too.
Im starting to build up my N70 hilux and as a school project for my final year I'm building a storage system and 12v battery management in the back of the tub, utilising a dc-dc charger, solar blanket, and a 100amp hr battery. Interms to give the ability to run camp lights, small fridge and charge 5 watt charge radios and ect that are needed for trips with the boys and for work after school on the daily.
Building a trailer for the jeep wk 3.0. Two lithium battery's in tow! With solar. Just got back from a show that redarc taught a class on 12v systems. Looks like at a minimum I'm going to need a manager 30. Thanks for the video it will make it easier for me to explain to friends.
Hey Shauno. 2020 Triton. First 4wd. Great video and so informative. No battery hence watching this. My dad used to take me camping when i was a kid and i would like to do the same for my kids so slowly getting into everything 4wd/offroading/camping/fishing. Thanks and love the videos!
Shauno, I have a 1996 Toyota 4runner that runs two Bosch group 34 AGM Batteries. My wife and I will be living out of the 4runner this summer on our Canadian/Alaskan tour. We're running a fridge, 9500lb winch, lighting, kitchen and charging all of the camera gear. It would be an amazing upgrade to our truck to run a Redarc system for our 12,000mi trip!
2000 Toyota Land Cruiser. I’m running 2 AGM 75amp batteries in parallel. I run my fridge, camping lights, and I recharge all my batteries from it. I also use it for my compressor.
Just recently got myself a hilux to start travelling in planning to run a 100ah lithium just to run a simple fridge and some lights and USB charging maybe throwing in a solar panel as well, great videos guys been binging 12v videos to try and get my head around it ahah
2004 gu patrol 2 x mf95d31l 810cca batteries Long range touring and off road is the goal set up. Being able to go completely remote but be self sufficient! Love the set up in dirty 30, that system is impressive! Great tech there from redarc delivering the goods as always!
Epic vid Shauno! Full newbie here and this is going to help me sleep better! I’ve got a 2000 Prado 3.4L V6 Petrol with a Century C12-120XDA 120Ah AGM. At the moment it’s only giving power to my lights, phone, camera battery chargers and a couple of other small accessories but soon I’ll be adding a fridge into the mix as well. At the moment that’s all I need for solo fishing trips up & down the coast. Cheers mate!
Lot of good info and simply explained. I have a 2010 Prado 150 and a 135ah AGM to run my fridge, lights and charge appliances. I would love a complete dual battery setup.
Great info thanks. This was more informative than the so called experts at the camping shows. This is why my system doesn't work as well as it should. Now im up for new gear. I have a 2017 Dmax charging two 100ah deep cycle batteries in my camper.
2021 MR Triton, this video is perfect timing as I’m looking at purchasing a Fridge/Freezer & camp lights & it’s helped me decide on which path/battery I need to go with to get the best results out of the 12v set up.
I’ve got 180 amp hour battery setup on the build inside my new dmax with all the creature comforts for the misses and our dogs, but mainly to keep the cans cold for them summer days on Fraser!
Hi 4wd 24-7. I'm in the UK. I have a Ford Ranger dual cab. A PJ model as you'd call it in OZ. I'm a big fan of how you guys build your 4x4's and have big plans to do a similar setup on mine. SAS swap with patrol axles, mercedes om605 motor. Tray back with Alloy canopy. Front and rear winches. Air compressor, fridge, lights etc. A lot of lovely 12 volt. One of the Red Arc Red Vision systems would be amazing for running all the 12V. Only have stock battery at the moment, so I'd need to get a couple of extra batteries and the complete lot to reach my goals. Winning the competition would be awesome as I never win anything! Thought I'd point out on the Vid, at 12:04 when you are showing the control screen/HMI. You have some copper showing on one of the black wires going into the green connector. Not a big issue as I assume it's an earth wire. Just incase though I thought I'd mention it.
Gday Shauno, I’ve got a Hilux n80 with a 120ah kick ass battery. For work I drive around 12 hours on call each day, and it’s difficult to stop for any meals. I’m starting to pack lunches to pop in the dometic. I’m currently saving up for an invertor and 12v microwave plus a second 120ah battery to assist with the load of the old one. All I want out of my battery setup is to be self sufficient on the road, without stopping at the shops or a fast food joint to keep that gut reserved for beers and keep the business running efficiently !!
I have a 1989 TD42 Gq patrol that has been chopped into a dual cab with canopy. Currently setting up the canopy for a 2 week round trip through NSW so after some dual battery stuff. Id love a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery and a dual battery set up where i can monitor my battery status easily and hassle free. Have had my eye on REDARC lately as i have been told they have awesome products.
Hey Shauno, 1984 HJ47 ute. Currently running dual batteries with a Redarc Isolator under the bonnet. Making this into a touring rig and fitting a full canopy on the back and will be hopefully running a third battery in the canopy to power the accessories.
I have a 90 series Landcruiser Prado. 1 Deep cycle battery and a Deep cycle battery charger and what I want from it is to run a fridge and those other convenient camping accessories to be able to do a bit of touring and so I can be an amazing cook like Shauno.
Im a new 4x4 enthusiast, with A 2001 Toyota hilux 2.7lt petrol and im looking to get a dual battery system set up to run a 60lt fridge, camp lights, work lights, cordless drill batteries phone chargers and and any other accessories ill be adding along the way. And I'll be using them for some 1 to 2 week camping trips and the odd weekend camping trip.
I run and old Land Rover Discovery for tough touring... had dual Optima D34M blue top, black case 675CCAs and I need a charger for lots of winching, and some light touring mods... fridge and camera battery chargers and that's about it! Cheers lads!
2020 jeep wrangler. Not sure what battery it has but my wife and newborn son have just bought this car and camper trailer that has two agm batteries and we would love the piece of mind to start going places when little man is a few months old and is well enough. Love your work, keep the motivation.
ive got, 2 105 amp batteries from century, gonna be running one 80 litre fridge to start with and will upgrade with time, built my own drawers and im just looking for the right charger, if its australian owned its brilliant, these videos really help cheers
Hi Shauno, i have a 89 GQ patrol I'm running 2x 170ah batteries, I'm wanting as much from a charging system as possible. Enabling me to sit up for a week with solar input an be self sufficient with no drama's . All the best 👍🏻🍻 George
Got a 2018 BT50, starting to set it up so I can go off grid and travel around Australia! Nothing beats a cold beer so I’ll be running a 75dual zone dometic, lights and charging cameras etc. dcdc is the next step to my 120ah slim kickass battery
Hey Shauno! Iv got a 2003 GU Coil Cab Patrol with a TD42Ti. My current 12V setup is a basic dual battery setup with dual agm batteries & Redarc isolator, Iv made up a DIY power board in the canopy with a 60L Waeco & basic lighting but unfortunately I kill a battery every 12-18 months & need to upgrade my setup. What I would like is a Manager 30 setup with my Waeco, LED camp lighting, Inverter, Travel Buddy, electric water pump & Solar panel so I can do more remote trips & stay out bush for extended periods. Not to mention having the convenience of connecting to mains power which would save my batteries since the Pootrol isn't my daily. Cheers mate 👍
I have a 2018 hilux and looking to install a dual battery setup to run a fridge, rear tray lights and external lighting on the car with also having the capability to put a solar panel on for when I’m camped up for a couple days! That’d be the ideal setup for me! Keep up the good work guys! Much love from WA
Just bought myself a 2011 lux to build from scratch and hit the cape in August for my 30th! Will be running a 120ah lithium battery and looking at the Redarc Manager30! 🤙🏼🍻
This video was great and perfect timing I just bought a pajero sport and I have a home made camping trailer with my fridge, lights, 130 ah battery etc. And am trying to decide to put a second battery or moving the trailer battery to the car. The more I research the more confused I get. I am new to this 4x4 but don't want to compromise the cars electronics. That's for the video great information.
Apologies team - had to re-upload because a few technical hiccups in it - our sound guys obviously knocked off and went to the pub early! Enjoy!
I got halfway thru a comment and the video disappeared - the sound boys got it fixed quick, they should work from the pub more often
Haha so funny! Should have just left it as is and watch everyone blow up in the comments 🤪
Two videos in a week? I'm sure everyone can forgive them 😁
Thought for a minute Shauno was doing an ASMR interlude for the ladies
Thank you shauno! Aloha!
Keen to see the camera cars set up!

Sooty normally charges the Camera guys gear I Believe.
Dude have a look at kickass they’re stuff is amazing value, and Aussie made
@@kyleb5518 not Aussie made, still quality gear tho
My son and I are doing up a GU Series 2 wagon as a joint project car - currently running a SBI12 isolator and one of my hand me down batteries but for our Cape trip later this year we're upgrading her to a LiFePO4 and BCDC1250D to run his fridge and camp set up. Love your work Shauno, education disguised as entertainment is a winner!!
judging from the content of this channel, I thought it would have some multi million subs. Keep up the great work and the boys will get you to a mill
Cheer man !
No worries mate, glad it helped you out!
I’ve got an old gq bus, redarc isolator, kickass 170ah, with a kickass solar controller, and all I want is cold beers 24/7
2001 GU patrol.
About to do the whole redarc system (dual battery, solar on my RTT, fridge and phone charger in the back on the wagon).
Had no idea until I watched your redarc video and this one 👌
I've got a TD42 GU Patrol with a 200AH lithium battery
I have a 98 jeep cherokee xj, I have a yellow top under the hood, a yellow top in the trunk. I want my system to be able to keep my fridge cool, charge flash lights, and to run power to anything needed at the campsite or if worse case to be able to use long term in a bug out situation. I'm gonna wanna run solar at some point too....
Thanks for all the info shauno this subject seems soo easy but is actually kind of technical and you and gram, jocko and the whole crew inform us sooo darn well... thanks 24/7..... you make overlanding soooo appealing ...
Hmmmm feel like I’ve seen this video a few hours ago 🤷♂️
No you havent.
@@Caliban_Cam Sound was cooked.
On Andrews channel perhaps.

2014 ranger, 170amp deep cycle battery, running a fridge, Inverter, lights, cig & USB Sockets, travel buddy.
Good video to explain to people that don't know.
Great stuff 👍👍
Damn, thought that notification meant I’d won 😜
Landed in the country 4 weeks ago from the UK, bought a 2011 GU CRD today (my first ever 4WD) and my Girlfriend and I are planning to explore this beautiful country and do some beginners touring so just need to run a few lights and a small fridge for now. Starting out from our new home near Brisbane and its all thanks to you guys at 4WD 24-7 for getting us up to speed with the Do's and Don't of 4WD'ing
Really want something that will charge all my milwaukee batteries and run the fridge

Land rover discovery 1 I'm just building my 12v system up after finally chasing down all the rot 😂🙈
Yeah good second time watching it
Hay what happened boys I’ve gotten the notification twice
First video upload failed.
Good day Shauno, I have a 2003 Perado 120 and keen to put in a dual battery setup with a Lion SMFDCM31 12v CCA 800 battery. These videos make it so much easier and make me excited! You have saved me from ruining my batteries with my charger. Cheers
Need to run a second fridge so the misses ‘food’ doesn’t take up all my beer room
Get a 2nd fridge mate, a smaller one for the food.
Great work!
TOYOTA FJ Cruiser, 2X105A, 220W solar panel. Running lights, 90l fridge/freezer. planning water storage and pump.
Great Channel. Cheers from SA
Bought a dmax november last year after having a hilux and watching Graham take is his dmax everywhere the big rigs go,
Car was bone stock and got slugged with covid tax bigtime but I couldn't be without a 4x4.
Want to run an agm behind the rear seat to run my fridge to keep the beers cold when im out on the tracks but the system has been put on the back burner so I could bush proof the rest of the car( bullbar, bash plates sliders, lift and tyres)
Loving the content, keep it coming boys
G'day Shauno,
I have a 80 series landcruiser and have just the two agm batteries at the moment.
I've got a 1995 Suzuki Vitara LWB

Thanks for all the videos :)

From Los Angeles California: You are the Toyota king…..I hope you know this man!
2013 Y62 (Not Supercharged like Anthony's, I like to keep my CVs in 1 peice) 2 x 120a Bosch AGM batteries. Cheers lads, always enjoy your work.
ive got, 2 105 amp batteries from century, gonna be running one 80 litre fridge to start with and will upgrade with time, built my own drawers and im just looking for the right charger, if its australian owned its brilliant, these videos really help cheers
I’ve got a 1993 Toyota 4Runner. I’m running a 125amp AGM for my fridge, lights and for charging phones etc. Another great video guys 👍🏻
