    I own this bike and absolutely adore it, pedals like a dream and has handled everything from mellow XC trails to chunky DH runs. I’ve been forced to have it as my only bike and I’ve been thoroughly impressed. Throw a 140 pike on it with some oneup bars and a 50mm stem and it’ll handle it all.

      Definitely a solid second bike and not a bad only-bike.

    GREAT video. I especially liked the closing scene where you were boxing up the bike to ship it away after running it through the paces. Just a story of the two of you. Perfect ending.

    Good one here Milton. That is a really sweet build, whoever you shipped it to I'm sure they will be super stoked! God bless you my brother.

      He’s so stoked! Got it yesterday, rode it and loves it. Not gonna lie, I’m very tempted. Thanks

    I have a pretty decent built, 27.2 lbs Ripley AF on Berd Hawk 27 wheels. I agree with what you said here. Precision bike and riding. You’re always going to hold back on this bike even if you get Large size. I think you’d like a Tallboy more but the current deals on Ripley AF and their aluminum frames feels nice. Mine is quiet and feels very damped even when I have ENVE M630 wheels on. It just got even better with the Berd wheels. Good review, thanks for the video!

      Thanks! Yes, these AF’s are out there for under $3k. Your build sounds awesome. Can only imagine it at 27 lbs

    Cool video. Interesting how things are a matter of perspective. I’ve ridden hard tails for 25 plus years on all kinds of terrain around Colorado, Hawaii, and Oregon. Now owning a Ripley AF I find it more than adequate for pretty much anything other than maybe huge jumps or drops which I don’t really want to do on any bike anyway.

    • @MILTONATOR

      Thanks man. Comes down to the bike and the rider. With 25+ years under your belt, no doubt you can throw it down no matter the bike 🤘

    Awesome video and great riding 👍. The trail seems to be a bit more than what the RAF is intended for but good to know that it still did ok with it.

    Tallboy with a 140mm 36 and a piggy back rear shock. Enduro geo , ST snap & great climber can't go wrong

    Hey I know your a Commencal fan. Check out the new Commencal tempo you can set it up burly boy style with 36 150mm up front an I called Commencal an they said the rear feels more 125mm. They been testing an the front range in CO since last summer. I'm getting one for out here in CO an the chunk out here is the real deal. These shorter aggressive rippers are soo much more fun on the trails!

    Thanks for the video! I'm considering this for my first bike hear in SoCal/ orange county. Do you think that is a wise choice, though deciding between this and ripmo

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      SoCal/OC …. I would recommend the Ripmo over the Ripley if you’re taking on some of the steep and chunky trails like the ones at Aliso. The Ripmo will pedal almost as good and definitely give you more confidence and forgiveness

    • @_-_Osiris_-_
      @_-_Osiris_-_ 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right on, thanks for the reply! I've only been on a MTB once so I'm a complete beginner. The Aliso/laguna chunk looks fun but I'm assuming I'm a long ways out from that. That's why I've been having a hard time deciding between ripley af/ripmo af

    • @MILTONATOR

      @@_-_Osiris_-_ ah! Then I would suggest the Ripley

    hi, how does it compare to your norco fluid in terms of weight, uphill, descending and playfullness? Im torn between these 2 bikes. thank you

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! The Ripley leans more towards XC in its weight and handling- super fun, but gets shaky when pushed towards more enduro type of riding. The Norco Fluid is the opposite, feels like an enduro trapped in a trail bike. I can push my Norco and feel good on it. But it’s still fun on the lesser demanding trails. Hope that helps

  • @vetracer5046
    @vetracer5046 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is a bike that would be good for distoration or maybe over drive. Not to chunky but still flowy. Good bikes at a rad price point. There customer service is 2nd to none.

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  ปีที่แล้ว

  • @nikoyannaros48
    @nikoyannaros48 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do you think about the size? Because as I remember you are used to have a longer reach on your bikes.

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, I would have to go large. The medium was fun but a tight fit. Also up to a 140 fork to raise the stack height

  • @Bittersfamily0424
    @Bittersfamily0424 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does this bike have any issues with not being progressive enough in the rear shock? My friend bought this same bike and replaced the fork and shock right away in favors of a DVO Topaz and d1 sapphire. Just wondering if you were experiencing bottom out on the rear Shock on this test.

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Didn’t really experience hard bottom outs. Then again I didn’t really take any big hits. Didn’t really do much with suspension setup except set a 20% sag on it. Can’t really say

    • @Bittersfamily0424

      @@MILTONATOR But this would make a great addition to my enduro bike. Something I could get in long rides on flat less aggressive trails and have more fun then I would on my Capra?

    • @MILTONATOR

    Nice. What did you think about that Rekon on the rear tire?

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Rekon felt fast for sure but lacked significant traction on the punchy climbs. But going down on these trails, felt pretty good

    @Dempsey222 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    That is a great bike but for the trails you ride in the long run it might not be a fit. The trails in your videos are rough and look like 160mm or more trails.

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, I’d like at least 130/150 and a longer wheelbase. But this bike was way more fun than I expected
