Awesome video👌🏾. I think this is the best metal mini handheld for sure, it quickly replaced my nano. The pixel is so quirky and the different boot loads👌🏾 Also Aliexpress has hand grips for it now😍
But why male models, Zu? Nah, I'm kidding. Zu is making lots of sense. He's like Captain Tracy from "The Omega Glory" episode of 'Star Trek: TOS'. I get that we're supposed to see him as the bad guy and Kirk as the good guy; but, I low key think that Tracy was behaving logically until the last few minutes of the episode. All he wanted to do was protect the village that saved his life when he got marooned there from the unrelenting hordes of barbarians trying to kill them all. And that village had discovered extreme long life. They were humanoid so it made sense to him that if we could figure out what they're doing right then humans could do it too. The Prime Directive was stupid and every non do-gooder Captain knew it. But not Kirk, not in this episode, noooo.
Similar to the two part episode of TNG where Picard gets assimilated. The bad guy from Robocop is supposed to be the bad guy, but he makes a ton of good points!
Zu is the only person besides my parents who I allow to call me Russell. Great video! I still play mine a lot, especially after adding a glass screen protector.
I bought one, installed MinUI, and went on with my bad self. Im a working adult so i didn't care about the price - in fact, i just bought the gold one so now ill be rich ❤ To me, its perfect
I keep mine in my car for unexpected waits. I had to go to the DMV earlier this week, and even with an online appointment, you need to wait forever, so I grabbed the pixel out of the glove box and played some Mother 3 in the lobby.
Thinking of this handheld as "one of three" I think this COULD be an excellent pick for the low end, high battery capacity, fully pocket friendly device. If the miyoo isn't quite small enough OR if you wish a metal miyoo existed, I think this may be an excellent pick. For me, the Miyoo original is just right and I am more excited about the RG35xx "SP" clamshell. Admittedly though...I have always wanted a premium metal handheld, but at a non "premium" price and this DOES have an attractive price point vs build quality.
Pre ordered my pixel from ggg forever ago they been out of stock. They emailed saying they had a red one and do I want it. I said that was fine. See this vid 20 mins after release has me worried they stiffed me and sent it to you.
I want this and the rg nano for novelty sake. I dont reallt care to play with them. I just like knowing i can. I'll wait a fee years for it to be obsolete and get the rg nano as a cool techy keychain
@@retrohandhelds yeah your show the other week talking about the challenge of charging all the devices and batteries dying got me shook. I got a weekend project removing batteries from my NES Edition GBA and my 25th Anniversary Mario GB Micro. I'm terrified of the batteries turning into a plush pillow.
isn't the mgba core in the "extras" pack, for MinUI? and using another folder with the MGBA string? I thought that was part of the MinUI out of the gate :)
I'll have you know I've actually used my paracord bracelet on several occasions to latch a trunk shut, grab a goose out of a pond, reinforce a tailgating gazebo, and various other random tasks!
Is this guy making sense? RH needs to know!
Sense making

Hahahaha
Zu you have earned a privilege, use it wisely! 😈
Oh, there is no chance of me being responsible.
I love both of you guys! Great content!

continues to make sense
Just took my Pixel with me in my Miata and it fits perfect in the passenger seat lol.
That car makes the GKD Pixel look normal sized
@@eatereater6312 Exactly! Lol
This review confirmed my decision to actually own a GKD Pixel. In the right time... Great one Zu!
I like it but sort of overpriced vs the competition. For about $50 I'd buy one. They could ditch the metal to drop the price a bit too.
Some pictures just leaked of a transparent model, so it looks like plastic plus some other colors are coming.
I'm about to switch to MinUI, but on my rg35xx+. I need that simplicity, and to not worry about perfectly formatted boxart.
This guy might just be making some sense! I can't wait to dive into my Pixel.
I do not recommend diving or jumping onto it. It's sturdy, but not that sturdy.

P.S., that speaker is actually killer for it's size. That's a pretty sizable win for non headphone peeps.
Excellent points! There is a three pack of screen protectors for $9 on Amazon for some extra pocket protection.

I've had this for two weeks. Lol
@retrohandhelds thanks for the info. Slightly comforting.

I really want this, but already have an RG Nano and a RG280V... and a Miyoo Mini. I just can't justify it, but it doesnt mean I don't want it.
Please buy responsibly! 😂

Makes sense. Lol. Ugh, I really want one, now.
Thanks zu!
NO PROBLEMO @CHOCHO2188
Who cut Zu's right hand?? Was it Gary??
It was a paper cut from the mail. 😢
Dont know how to handle this much sense being made here
Take deep breaths and focus on the horizon.
I’d buy this for 40 not 60😭
Maybe it'll go on sale after a few months. You can sometimes find the Nano for dirt cheap, and that was a little pricey on release.
To bad it's to small for my older eyes. 3.5 screen would be ok.
It's a game boy for a fetus!
If you're going one handed might as well get the anbernic RG nano
The Nano is super uncomfortable if you plan on using it for more than a few minutes though.
@@zu_perler3011 which is what we're talking about here. One handing it, it wouldn't matter in that area.

It is
I just picked a random example as I was rambling incoherently in my basement! 😂
@@retrohandhelds no worries, we all did that at some point :D
The ANBERNIC 280V is a much better tiny handheld!
TH-camrs always have the most ridiculous amount of hand/wrist accessories 🙄
