It's amazing to see how Vertigo has changed and now most of the players have accepted its place in competetive mappool. I'd love to see a video with all changes to the map from 2018 to 2020

I really want to thank you for making me feel nostalgia from times I never lived like 2004-2008. The stories you tell with the synth music in the background gave and still gives me a feeling no other videos can really give me. IIRC, crouch-walking off the top ledges and landing while standing up should save you the minor hp loss on the vertigo drops throughout the map Phil. You probably already knew, but would be good information to add in the video I think.

you can actually drop from the elevator shaft without losing hp by landing on the wooden board with the arrow, accidentaly did it once.

This map was always my favorite map to play, even ahead of maps like Cache, and I am beyond happy that they're bringing it back, and with changes, too! I cannot wait to play the full map in competitive mode when it is released; it'll be one of my happiest moments of my gaming life.
Dude I don't even play CS GO yet you make everything you talk about within the game so entertaining from an unique perspective.
So yeah keep on doing that lol
These changes actually look interesting.
Vertigo is a unique map and I wouldn't even mind watching pro players play on updated version, although it needs some adjustments.

You can see through one of the textures on this map still. Get boosted up to the boards near CT spawn, jump up to the white boxes. Jump and you can see through the white ceiling where Ts come from. Must only be textured on one side

your map videos are so amazing that they really make you love the map - i never played this map and never really liked the looks of it from seeing videos of it - but now after watching this video i like really want to play it. you should do these map analysis videos regularly, also of new community created maps

you missed two things philip. From T spawn if you go up the stairs and onto the railing you could see the metal part on site, that is now blocked off in the new version. They also blocked off an overpowered boost in CT spawn. if you boost someone on the light you can see a lot of the map

If im correct the "bit halfway up" on the stairs is called a landing.

You missed one change, there was a construction light that you could jump on and with a teammate, boost to overlook players that are near the red box (but was white at the time), that area is blocked by a larger wall so you can't see it anymore.

the point where the stairs flatten out to make a sudden turn is called a landing, the landing is higher up.

That bit is called a landing.
The version in the game has had its vscript fixed with the recent update, so normal 5v5 does work. Also, yes, bombsite A being available in the future for Wingman does indeed seem to be the likely case as seen in the decompiled bsp file.
there was also a quite sneaky boost spot on the yellow work light in CT spawn that has now been removed :(
While I've not played it, I really do like the look of Vertigo, if only because it heavily reminds me of the Mercy Hospital Rooftop from Left 4 Dead.

They also altered the lamp boost on CT spawn, you could see whole middle and a part of B site, now sadly enough you can't really see anything anymore.
There was a Problem with the CV clipping Trillixe showed in his Video (shooting thru it) . They improved that. I guess they wanted to imrpove the whole thing when they were already started

I do think that they should make the staircase leading up to B a bit wider since every entrance to the site can be blocked by a single smoke/molly.
However, playing with bots, A is too open, you can snipe from an extended edge of the building to the old CT spawn (which would be on the other side of the building if it wasn't blocked off.)
Also you can slide off the sign/board on the bridge in the elevator room to take no fall dmg.
I have never had *2kilk* so fast!

I'm sure that the guys working at valve don't even try to find problems with the new maps. They just wait for Philip to release a video
my theory is that valve added hard hats because it symbolizes that the construction workers have taken their hats off and stopped working on vertigo, and the lights have been turned off also because they have stopped working.
Instead of the stairs being higher up you could say that the mid section has been raised

You don't have to take damage in the elevator shaft drop if you're able to land properly on the wood and "surf". I've gone in the map and tested this myself and it's true but still difficult to land because of how steep the angle is.
