I watched this show religiously as a kid. Today, at 44, I find out/realize Stacy is Fergie. Unbelievable.

I always thought it was interesting the way Disney would pick and choose what lines to censor on certain songs. On this one, they didn't seem to have an issue with the line "I can feel my body rock every time you call my name", though it certainly leaves little to the imagination.

They did it in the first two seasons as well. They covered Madonna's songs, for instance. They went to Disney beginning in season three (1986-1987). I never had Disney, so I only remembered seasons 1 and 2 when they were in national syndication. I knew there was a tall kid that disappeared (Mickey), and that was as far as I got lol.

I loved this show growing up and all the side stories and how despite being a kids show, had great valuable life lessons. It had great fake-realism and the fashion was great lol.

This video could have happened in the 80s. Kids dancing crazily as they were on crack cocaine and beat with the bass drum attacking you with the 200 BPM . Amazing.

Although... it was always lip-syncing... the kids all sang their songs and of course, it was pre-recorded.
This was always a favorite song of mine from the teenaged Stacy. That was one of my favorite outfits and hairstyles on her too. The only complaint I have ever had with this video is that the cinematographers pulled away from watching the stage during the dance routine. You rarely saw Stacy dance with the dancers as that was always something Martika did. I really wish I could've seen the dance instead of Richie and Red.
