  • Today I decided I wanted to compression check my Miatas engine to make sure it was still healthy after a lot of miles. Overall pretty happy with the results but they weren't the best but the engine still is pretty healthy. Let me know if you guys have any questions down below!

Does anyone know which is the acceptable number?? I did it to my 1.6 nb2 and i had 190psi to all cylinders. Is this number good??

That’s as good as your engine can get

It definitely is…it’s not brand new but for 200k miles it’s definitely healthy for that motor

Per Mazda 135psi is the minimum. With that being said I'm not sure I would trust that harbor freight gauge to be accurate, testing one vs a more expensive gauge I found the harbor freight gauge was 30psi lower, but it will at least let you know if you have a dead cylinder.
