    You posted this video awhile ago , I just found it the other day. I find your method of doing welt cord very simple and almost fool proof. I have started to use it to join welt on the cushions I am sewing
    THANK YOU

      So glad it helped! Thanks for watching! I use the same method to join binding on quilts :)

    This video was very informative. Those who complained about her hair and hand are ridiculous….. it was FINE---and too slow? It’s a Tutorial not speed sewing. Keep up the good work. I’ve made many many pillows but was looking for invisible zipper how tos and this was very informative and helpful.

    Great instructions and visuals are excellent! Thank you SO much. I feel like I CAN do this. I have sewn since I was about 8 years old but have only made pillow covers with a flap type closure on wrong side. Also do not love to install zippers, not sure why, they are not THAT hard. Would you use the same size cord for a 20 x 20 inch sofa pillow? Thinking to bias fabric width would need to be cut a bit wider if cord was much bigger

    • @BeyondFabric
      @BeyondFabric  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use the same size cording for most of my pillow sizes. On larger Euro bed pillows-26" to 30"- I will go up to a larger cording, especially if I want to make a statement. :) If you go with a larger size, the bias strip size will change. I will cut a tester fabric strip and make about a 6"-9" cording tester piece to make sure the size is correct before cutting the fabric to be used for a project. Thank you for watching the video! Happy Sewing!

    I learned a lot from this video. Unfortunately the parts I was needing the most was obscured by hair and hands so I don’t quite understand how you “ended” the zipper.

    • @BeyondFabric
      @BeyondFabric  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are working on doing another clearer video. When you fold the pieces right sides together to sew the bottom of the pillow, you are stitching between the piping and zipper coil- about 1.5"-2" on each end making sure to backstitch several times. Once the ends are stitched, the zipper cannot go further. Hope this helps!

    When closing up the ends of the zipper ? Are you sewing thru the zipper also ? before you sew bottom and sides together. ?

    • @BeyondFabric
      @BeyondFabric  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On this pillow you will not have to sew thru the zipper at the end. When you fold the pieces right sides together to sew the bottom you are stitching between the piping and zipper coil- about 1.5"-2" on each end making sure to backstitch several times. Once the ends are stitched, the zipper cannot go further. Hope this helps!

  • @elainemcnamee3953
    @elainemcnamee3953 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The zipper was longer than the pillow ? So you stitched across the zipper to stop and start the zipper ? Then cut it off at the end ?

    • @BeyondFabric
      @BeyondFabric  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the zipper is longer than the pillow so the pull is out of the way when you are inserting it. Just makes it a little easier. Then you connect the front and back pillow pieces on the bottom ends, backstitching at both ends which prevents the zipper from going off. After that, you can then cut the ends off and sew up the remaining sides of the pillow. Hope this helps!
