Wonderful video, always informative. Having the 2nd camera on material preparation is brilliant. Definitely setting a new standard 👌. As always Thank you for sharing your talents 👍 Tight lines🪰🐟

Loved that Lindsay, good to see you prepping your materials as it gives newbies like myself a better idea of how much we actually need rather than putting on too much usually lol

Will try and do it with the more complex flies.

Great detail very helpful in my opinion watching how u gather all the material I would prefer you kept doing it that way if some don’t like that, that is what the fast forward button is for thanks for the video.

I do think some videos don't need it but I agree it really helps when you see how the preparation is done..

Another Great Fly Lindsay. Have used John Tyzack's patern, the ' Orange Arsed Sedge' in various sizes catching plenty of fish. This pattern would definitely suit the Duo method especially with all that extra buoyancy in faster water. Like the alternative camera angle showing material preparation. Not the pattern to yield on a Fly and a Dram night😂
Just a tip if I may, I save the off cuts of deer hair and mix them in, after chopping them up finer, with Squirrel gaurd hairs or Squirrel tail, also chopped up fine. I use the mixture for Sedge bodies on dries, especially spent patterns, or the thorax on Sedge Pupas.

Hi Lindsay definitely liked seeing how you prepared the materials I've just started to get into fly tying so it helps a lot to see this...

Defo this way lindsay if you are relatively new to tying it's a bit of a minefield on how to prep your materials and how to tie them in properly

Yes, as with many commenters, the preparation camera is of huge benefit to novices.

I think how you film it depends on the fly pattern. No sense going into great depth for a Blob, but there is a larger amount of materials on this fly and the detail helps me.

Hello Lindsay. Give as much waffle as you like. It's good to see how things are prepared. I've asked Davie Mcphail what he thinks of the FNF Talon and Claw vices. What's your opinion? I'm thinking of treating myself for my impending 60th. My wife has, unfortunately been diagnosed with terminal cancer, so I've not tied a fly in months, but I have to look forward. Thanks for the videos.

Interesting. I was about to ask him too on how happy he his with his vice after a few years now because I'm thinking of switching away from my Petitjean vice. So we're two now😊

So sorry to hear about your wife, I wish her all the best. I have to say I am still very much a fan of the Talon vice. I could never afford a Law vice but this is the next best thing. It will see me out I think.
