You just captured another Popovich. Nice job! I'm in California. I can see this used for Striper, Steelhead, Big Trout and even Bass. Absolutely great! I'm in NoCal and have access to BuckTail through the season. Thanks.

Thanks for this great tutorial! Steve great presentation, it's the second time I've seen Bob tie this and the instructions and design concepts are excellent. When I saw this in the water I'm reminded of a pheasant flushing and the tail feathers swirling from the turbulence of the wings! Thanks guys! 👍

Really good! Nice fly. One question: can the fish find small hook in this giant fly!?

Great tying session! Thx! Question, how high in the water column does a beast swim?

Just wandering.... could you use á small/light plastic tube ( as in tubeflies) for the extension??

great video, and a fantastic fly =) I live in Norway and I am gonna try to catch a Hallibut on a fly rod. I think a version of your fly "the Beast" will do great. Do you think a 1,8 mm plastic tube will do the same job as the mono you are using ?

Realize this is an older video, but what would you guys use for thread? I've been using GSP, either 100 or 150. Also, I've tied a few of these with the 1st 3 tied normally, not reverse. Am there a difference in movement or durability? And 3rd ? I've managed to tie 2 of these beast flies that walk-the-dog on their own. Love that action! But I have not been able to replicate it and have no idea what I did differently ! Any ideas would be appreciated!
