      Hey thanks for the review you guys did with the prototype. Wondering about a followup to the reviews you gave on the prototype gretsch's you had back in 2022. 😅
      Please 🙏, share whether gretsch had made those adjustments or, if not, you'd still recommend the solutions you guys provided.

    Gibson came out with a Slash version of the Les Paul. They had nice finishes but weren't anything particularly special. This musician did a much better job with both the image he presents to the public as well as the guitar design he came up with. Kudos to Gretsch. Im torn between the 58/59 Vintage Penguin and this limited release here. Both are super perfect.

    The very last thing the world needs is a guitar named after a worship leader. It’s even worse that the worship leader in question serves at a church that is known to be a financially dishonest, homophobic, abusive, and sexist cult. If Gretsch backed up a player that represented an organization that was financially dishonest, homophobic, abusive, and sexist that was NOT a church, they’d be cancelled and blackballed in a hot second. This is such a shame, because Rock and Roll was invented with Gretsch guitars. This literally makes me sick. Do better.

      I have had a look thru a few Gretsch videos and interviews of these guys and I think the VP Jason Barnes must be connected to maybe them personally. He seems to be the spear head behind promoting these types of endorsements - Again it will be because they push numbers thru streams or you tube etc but so dangerous to put Gretsch in bed with churches.
      Churches have existed long before Gretsch - Do they need any more help being endorsed then burning that bridge with however they are entangled with. I buy Gretsch and there guitars because the kind of guitarists that deserve it have come from NO WHERE with NO ONE behind them to create SOMETHING bigger than themselves. You can't put these guys in the box as much as you try - They are all straight copies of The Edge. I like Chet causes he sounds like Chet therefore Chet gets a signature...I like Setzer cause he is the focal point and spear heard of rockabilly and sounds like Setzer therefore he gets a signature...You can't do the same for these guys - Gretsch has gone with "everyones a winner here" like our stupid leftist culture has gone for these guys...It desecrates the effort and work people who have gotten a signature model for for these guys to "Just get a signature model"???
      Again im not anti anyones belief system but to earn a Gretsch signature they don't fit the bill and Im nervous about Gretsch's choices moving forward in doing so. Its not that hard to read between the lines surely???

  • @Steve_305
    @Steve_305 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Seems Gretsch is heading towards a different direction pandering to a hipster/gospel audience not looking good

  • @dano9704
    @dano9704 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Michael Guy and Nigel are great players no questions asked - But as prolific and established as Chet, Malcom, Setzer? No way
    What this shows me is a few things - There is a serious lack of great players contemporary that Gretsch could join with which isn't Gretsch's fault. My issue is that I think Gretsch think that Church Inspirational music (ie: Hillsong which includes both MGC and NH) is worth moving into business with. Hillsong, Bethel etc may move units or streams but the downfall of being tied to a religious system never ends well and even now we are seeing Hillsong being called out international for its ridiculous choice of how it operates business and with people.
    Have Gretsch really wanted to tie themselves to an already sinking ship? Are they fully aware of this situation globally and not just been given downloads and streams of MGC and NH to think that these two are really going to move the brand forward in the right way? Is Gretsch just trying to cash grab in a time where music is in serious decline?
    I don't think Gretsch needs these two players to further there name - I see no honest utility to bring on "religious royalty" to an already established brand - You can't mix church and state, you can't mix church and politics and church music crossing over into the global market isn't an issue but it always ends in a mess.
    I hope Gretsch has made a balanced choice in their artist roster. No church musicians to date so why start now?

    • @joshs7
      @joshs7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I think Nigel is very much as prolific and established as they others you mentioned, but in the CCM community. Modern CCM has a pretty stringent set of requirements of you want to be heard in the extremely dense mix. Gretsch has the chime and top end to punch through it, which is why CCM artists started gravitating towards Gretsch in the first place.
      I don't see a problem with bringing "religious royalty" either. Church and business generally go pretty well together. They're free to do whatever they want and personally I'm happy to see Gretsch embracing the community without the discrimination. THAT'S what breeds respect and loyalty in my book.

    • @bellachi9575
      @bellachi9575 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mentioning a worship leader made me watch the announcement. Sure, the players you mentioned may have greater name recognition, but there are a lot of inspired worship leaders to be looking for a good guitar.

      Guys all for Jesus

    • @dano9704
      @dano9704 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@joshs7 Respect and loyalty aren't what Gretsch are fostering nor is any company. The history books have always found that when church and business or state or politics etc get together it never ends well. Its easy for you to see my comment as discriminatory but in ranking in any hierarchy you'll find there are lots of losers and 1 maybe two winners - Thats what it takes to be prolific.
      As for prolific I doubt that would be the word - I can tell that the majority of the comments are from church goers. That doesn't rank as prolific. There is currently a little over 2 billion christians in the world.
      Which means there is a little over 5 billion of us that hold the market that can't be wrong.

    Hey, amazing video!
    With this a new model, wondering about a followup to the reviews given on the prototype gretsch's done back in 2022. 😅
    In the review the guys mentioned that likely, the finished product would have improvements made, as it purtained to tunning stability and such.
    Please 🙏, share whether you guys had made those adjustments or, if not, what solutions you'd recommend to aid in tuning stability. The afore mentioned team recommended a roller tunomatic bridge and 2 nylon washers at two main points to raise the bridge so the break angel is too steep.
    I was concerned that it would have a slight impact, though, on the tone you envisioned.
    I find that there are just some real world compromises that exist when optomizing in a particular direction for tone. Ex. A floating bridge on a strat... if you know, you know 😅😢😂.
