    My dad was at this game and the 2nd game of the double header. Caught two foul balls, one in first game, one in 2nd. I still have them both. 😊

    OH yeah. This was the Braves of my childhood. Love hearing that intro music from the TBS broadcasts. ⚾

      Those were the good old days, the Braves on TBS. Then you could watch one of those movies afterwards that TBS constantly showed like Walking Tall or some random John Wayne movie, haha.

    John Sterling mentions the Bill Buckner rumored trade to the Red Sox. The trade happened the very next day.

    Loved those Jo-Dee Chants at Wrigley; Great to See Jody Davis Homer & the Crowd Chant while he rounded the bases

      @@aaronolson5434 the game on TV at the pizza place in the movies was the Braves/Cubs game played on June 5th, 1985. The Braves won in eleven innings. When it cuts to them setting at Wrigley Field it was from a Cubs/Expos game in September of 1985. I think that was also the game where Andre Dawson hit two home runs in one inning and Expos almost squandered a 13 run lead.

    A rare Chuck Rainey sighting in 1984 with the Cubs. He was traded several weeks later.

    • @retrosportsvision5873
      @retrosportsvision5873  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah they really upgraded their rotation from the one that started the year. They had Rainey and Rick Reuschel in the rotation to start. I think Dickie Noles started some games early too. Bringing in Sutcliffe and Eckersley was huge.

    who would have thought back then the cubs would lose the pennant that year because of a Gatorade soaked Mit and involve Duram and Buckner

    In lived in New Orleans in 1984 and had a choice between watching Braves games on TBS or watching Cubs games on WGN. I found the Braves announcers so boring and dull and Harry Caray so boisterous and funny that I became a Cubs fan for years. This video reminded me of that contrast. So much dead air, so many pitches not called or commented on, so many tedious observations.

    Braves announcers talk about jet stream and just a normal fly ball on Durhams homerun but on Hibbards fly to left that didn’t go out they call bad luck LoL
