Also I personally dont wanna believe that they will be THAT stupid to not utilize a power up like that when it would have given them quite an advantage. In reality it probably is just the meta reason aka hollow masks would have made their matchups VERY different so Kubo just gutted the Visoreds.
@@mufasa5851 Not exactly sure what you mean by soft ban, but only one character that we currently know of has ever had their bankai banned. Shinji simply has no use for his bankai in most setting so he seldom uses it.
Idk why but seeing Mayuri and Kisuke working together is kinda terrifying. Thats the first time they're working along since Kisuke got banned and they alredy a massive pain to deal with. Imagine a world where these too decided "Nah, you know what? Imma be the main villain right now".
@jackwitt7430 Bruh, Kisuke/Kurotsuchi are both way smarter than Aizen. Also, Aizen's ego wasn't in check with power lol. He fell to his OWN power BECAUSE of his ego. Using KISUKE'S INVENTION no less.
@jackwitt7430 In all fairness I think the gap of intelligence between Kisuke and Mayuri isn't even that big. Mayuri is the only person in existence to create a soul out of nothing (Nemu) while all the others use modified souls. That's what I think pissed Mayuri off about Kisuke. And with Aizen while he isn't as smart as Kisuke in terms of science he is definitely smarter in terms of "social" knowledge. He did outplay Kisuke and got him banned after all. For all we know if he wasn't so full of himself he could've carry out the whole plan to create the Ouken without revealing himself to the Soul Society just like he created all Arrancars without everyone noticing.
Guys the Quincy Hollow thing was the whole reason why Ishin had to help Masaki survive. Urahara was sitting on most of this from then. The final detail just clicked during Part 1. Urahara started off pioneering his own Gigai research. Managed to stabalise hollow Souls within soul reapers using that. Essentially figuring out how to create and contain hybrid souls. Managed to use 1 hybrid soul to balance another. Ironically finding some kind of solution to what the Quincy are so afraid of lol. Managed to facilitate the first natural birth between different species, otherwise impossible till then. Managed to safely inject hollow souls into soul reaper souls. In the background we've been seeing Kisuke's life's work flourish. 👌🏽
There's even one more point that Urahara (and maybe two other characters) knows about that they haven't explicitly touched on yet; which is neat. Kubo really didn't waste a plot point.
You saw their Vollständig before, Quill used it to fight Ichigo in Hueco Mundo and absorb reiatsu from everything around him. You actually saw a flashback of it in this episode.
[Tidbits & Clarifications] - The idea that Quincy's grudge against hollows is one based on fear of death is an important bit to remember, especially since most or much of these ideas come from Yhwach. - This episode does great at showing just how dangerous Soi Fons Bankai is, many fans think her Bankai is weak for some odd reason. Many argue that it's too simple, which is the point Soi Fon is pretty blunt and straightforward and emotionally explosive as we've further witnessed throughout this arc. - Shinji's Bankai occurs relatively quickly here, so for any who don't quite understand, put simply: it inverts the perception of Allies and Enemies. Therein all of those caught within his Bankai view their friends and partners as enemies, thus they begin killing each other. Basically Teaming up against Shinji is a bad idea. In the light Novels, we learn that his Bankai was forbidden, obviously because it can affect Shinji's allies as well. - Vollstanding is the Transformation that Quilge used, it's the updated form of what Uryu did back in Soul Society. They simply couldn't use it while they had the stolen Bankai. - Shinji is Ill matched against Bambietta, if this was anyone else they'd already be dead but as we saw she has the ability to just blow up everything around her, so I suppose this becomes a battle of who gets who 1st. - In the End Credit scene we see that someone is seemingly being torn apart limb from limb, and so far we've only seen 1 person whose missing body parts and has multiple pupils. - Some forget the relationship between Urahara and Mayuri and that Mayuri is an extremely prideful scientist, so he hates being compared to Urahara and is partly seeking to surpass/out-do him. It Cannot be overlooked that Mayuri was genuinely willing to cut contact with Urahara who had vital info just because he bugged his outfit [Repost]
A lot of people forgot we say Stern Ritter Q use this power in Hueco Mundo when he fought Ichigo, and when Shunsui was fighting the Stern Ritter with the guns.
22:14 Remember Ichigo's mom, Lee? Urahara explained to Ishida's father and Isshin that Quincy's have no antibodies to deal with Hollows. That's why Masaki was almost dying in the first place and why she was undergoing Soul Suicide.
You can tell the people working on this anime set out on a damn MISSION to give Shinji some of the best scenes in the show, and one of probably the most unique OSTs in the series for a theme as well.
The reason Shinji was delaying and explaining stuff against Bambietta is so she can call her other girlfriends to help. So he can affect all of them with his Bankai at the same time.
My theory on the visords and ichigo's bankais here: I think the visords bankais were fair game because their bankai itself isnt hollowfied, its their bodies, while ichigo is different, because remember, his Zanpakuto *is* a hollow
Yup I fully agree. The vizard were full-fledged Shinigami before being artificially hollowfied. Their soul reaper and hollow powers should be separate (Two Spirits). While for Ichigo his Soul Reaper and Hollow powers have been mixed in one entity, White Zangetu, since birth

The whole point of Isshin was to suppress the Hollow and keep it separate until it left his Masaki and until Ichigo was strong enough for it to not make him die from Soul Suicide. As soon as his Zanpakuto awakened and Ichigo became more powerful the seal Isshin was maintaining broke and the Hollow was freed and fused with the Shinigami power pretty much all in one action. Yhwach was not holding his Shinigami/Hollow power back. He was holding his Quincy power back and only allowing it to come out when his life was in danger. Rukia's intent and that method is supposed to just allow someone to be a Shinigami temporarily however Ichigo already IS a Shinigami and it basically just awoke the power already dormant within him causing him to absorb all her power and make it take longer for her to recover. Later, they use the same exact method to reawaken it in the Fullbring Arc. It's not like Ichigo just permanently has all the Captains energy and what not it just created a more powerful awakening.

Just so yall are aware, Shinji didn’t use his Bankai against Aizen, that was just his Shikai. If Shinji had used his Bankai, Shinji likely could have overpowered Kyoka Suigetsu and had Gin/Tosen/Aizen facing each other until Aizen released his own Bankai or he just evolved out of it with the Hogyoku. But at the same time, all the Soul Reapers would have turned against each other as well. So, he was stuck in a lose-lose scenario.
I would argue that even if he didn't have his allies there it would still be bad. Gin never actually viewed Aizen as an ally and neither Aizen saw him as one. So Shinji's bankai would probably make the whole situation worse because they would acutally start fighting together lmao

Regardless of how it would actually work in that specific situation, it would still cause some amount of chaos in Shinji's favor giving him the advantage. Also, this doesn't explain away Tosen who would definitely attack Aizen/Gin.

Thats not a leap in logic, thats just taking what the bankai does and applying it to a hypothetical situation. Also I'm not sure how Yamamoto, Unohana, Ukitake and Shunsui suddently seeing the entire Gotei 13 as enemies would benefit Shinji in the slightest lmao his bankai swaps everyone's perception regardless so Tosen turning on Aizen would pale in comparison to old man Yama flipping the shit out of everyone.

That's just you missinterpreting who the pronoun referred to. I'm not stupid I know his Bankai doesn't work on himself lol. And since we're talking about Shinji being alone with Aizen and the Espada, remember that Barragan also saw Aizen as an enemy so he would also actually start to fight for Aizen with Shinji's Bankai. So now you got Gin and Barragan who are arguably the strongest Aizen followers actually fighting for him and viewing him as an ally. And Aizen wouldn't kill Gin because since he saw Gin as an enemy with Shinji's Bankai he would start to see Gin as an Ally. Even if Tousen and the other Espada view Aizen as an enemy there is nothing they can do against the three of them working together, they would whoop them pretty easy.
In terms of the whole quincy and hollow thing, we also see it from the last cour when Ichigos mom got infected by the hollow and when urahara was explaining how she'd basically die if isshin didnt sacrifice his soul reaper powers.
Hollowfying the bankais was a great idea calling back to season 1 and gave their bankais really cool designs. Shinji's bankai is limited because it literally turns everyone within an area against each other. He couldn't do it against Aisen with everyone around. But surrounded by enemies, it's an insane bankai.
Hollow powers being poisonous is also a major plot point of Everything but the Rain. When Ichigo's mom got bitten by the holloe her soul needed to be stabilized by another entity (Isshin) for the rest of her life to stop the soul from collapsing. While for the Vizards, a vaccine was enough to prevent the soul collapsing. So it was already established that Hollow powers are a lot more dangerous for Quincies
I think the back story with Masaki was supposed to be the foreshadowing as to the quincy/hollow relationship. Its nice that they mentioned Sternritter J, because it didn't make much sense that he could subjugate Ayon's reishei in the manga, it's nice that they have explained that it did indeed have a detrimental impact
You said you haven't seen quincies use Voltstandig or Volt Stern Dich but the thing is. YOU HAVE back when they were in Hueco Mundo and fighting Sternritter "J" the Jail he used it and turned into an angel.
I really liked Shinij taunting Bambietta about calling her friends back. He was clearly trying to get a whole group of Quincies together so he could use his Bankai against them.
@15:15 no Bambietta's "squad" weren't jumped. They literally just decided to ditch her for the hell of it. Bambietta acts like she's their leader, but she really isn't, she just THINKS she's in charge of them. Not sure why that scene was skipped though
@@AshishAroraa I know a lot of people like to say that everyone was fighting momo in that fight, but if that were the case, momo woulda died from Nigeki Kessatsu and from various other captain level attacks, including bankai. The only time he tricked them was in the split second when he changed places, right before toshiro stabbed him. It would make no sense otherwise that momo would’ve been able to handle the equivalent of eight captain level fighters back to back

Aisen switched with her in a moment. I also know Aizen can't really replicate Shinji's bankai. According to what I saw, Aizen can show his illusions to multiple people but he can't make everyone see different things. His every enemy sees one thing under the hypnosis. So Aizen can't really make everyone turn on each other. Would people easily counter Shinji's bankai with knowledge? That's a thought I just had. If enemies are aware of what Shinji's Bankai does, can they start attacking allies to counter his bankai, cuz they already would know his bankai reversed their allies and enemies.
It kind of annoys me that at 3:47 Cang Du says it must be the first time Toshiro has seen his bankai from that side. He used it after he stole it from him during the first invasion. The same mistake was made in the manga and it's weird they kept that line in despite it being completely wrong.
Perhaps the first time around, the wings of Toshiro's Bankai didn't fully appear due to the heat of Yamamoto's Bankai. That may be why Cang Du says that.
@@hola123703 I guess that is possible. It's just very clear that he was using it prior to the wings melting from Yamamoto's bankai which Toshiro acknowledges. I guess maybe it's meant to convey that it melted before he got a chance to really use it fully but it comes across weird as it's written.
Shinji was really flexing this episode. People are sleeping on him because Aizen sonned him but anyone who is not on Aizen's level intellectually gets insta fucked by his shikai alone.
i'm hype for the prospect and foreshadow of Urahara, when sending the candies, actually sending one to HISAGI 69 SHUHEI who was training to achieve Bankai in the end of Part 1. His bankai was never in the manga, just like Hirako's
22:12 Remember the flashback episodes of Ichigo's parents? That was the clue about hollows damaging Quincies. She was getting killed by the hollow energy left behind when it damaged her.

You guys forgot that they already shown the 'release' since episode 1... remember the first guy? He use the same move, when he absorb everything be enemy or reishi... he got wings and that halo which Ichigo broke which looks like the wings and halo the Stern Ritters are showing right now... It didn't came out of nowhere.
The Vaizards don't necessarily have their Hollow power mixed with their Zanpakuto. They can don their mask regardless of the state of their Zanpakuto. Now, Urahara made a pill that specifically hollowfies a targeted Bankai. Not really even the Zanpakuto spirit itself, but the Bankai state alone. So it's possible that a Vaizard might have had their Bankai stolen before the pill was invented. We know that Ichigo's Hollow powers have a different origin and nature from the other Vaizards. His Zanpakuto _is_ the Hollow inside him.
Don't understand why they made Shinji use the hollow pill when he is already Hollowfied lol. It would've been a nice opportunity to hype up the three Vizored captains by saying the Quincys are weaker against them or smt and their bankais cannot be stolen.
I feel like the hollows have some of the best sound effects in bleach in terms of the basic moves like flashstep and Cero, heck even hollowfying is cool with the echo

There is a difference between Ichigo and the vizards. The vizards were soul reapers that had hollow powers forced onto them. Ichigo had a hollow that fused with his soul reaper powers from the beginning, so they are one and the same. Unless Kubo has already said otherwise, that means it might be possible to take Shinji’s Bankai since it should be separate from his hollow powers by default. At least I believe it’s a possibility.

If you remembered when they said they should have used an arrancar instead to take Ichigo's bankai cause only an arrancar using quincy power can steal it since they are hallow's, cause in the first episode it was being stolen but Ichigo broke out of it before it happened
So the reason why vizards bankais can be stolen is their bankai powers is completely separated from their hollow powers, while Ichigos bankai IS his hollow powers
I could be wrong but I think while Shinji had his Bankai activated it had an effect on Bombietta's senses, she killed her subordinates thinking they were Soul Reaper scrubs! That's why they vanished they were blasted to bits.
@daimer8660 by the time Komamura arrived he switched from Bankai to Shikai so he didn't effect his comrade. He told Komamura to head on so he could continue with the mind fuck.
@@tightgripis bankai only swaps the perception of friend & foe, so allies appear to be enemies & vice versa. It’s basically only useful if the fight is Shinji vs a group. It’s useless in a 1v1 or if Shinji has allies with him. Also in Bankai his weapon has a ring on both sides of the weapon, in Shikai the ring is only on 1 end. Against Bambi (the female Quincy) he’s only using Shikai.
@fangyuan1059 she's a Stern Ritter they can take out fodder Quincies easily...they may not have shown it but we still don't get an explanation on where they ran off too if they are still alive. I admit I may be wrong on If Shinji was using his Bankai or not but at the same time this is the first time we get to see it in action
Basically, what Ichigo saw is super spoilery plot stuff that was revealed in the sequel LNs, so we'll see if we get a more concrete explanation later, this is stuff added to the anime.
I've seen many reactors forgetting about Vollständig, and thinking it's a random power up for the plot sake. We've already seen it used and explained by Quilge Opie in the previous cour. It seems that anime failed to make this moment more memorable and important, like Bankai releases or Resurrections are.
I just had a realization. Hollow/ hollow powers are poisonous to Quincies, and that's why Ichigo's mom almost died after she got infected with White?! Can't believe Urahara didn't look into this back then....

None of the Vizards had their Bankais stolen, but the other captains lost their Bankais before the Vizards could even go for it, so they didn't even try. It's a debate in the fandom as to whether or not their Bankais (which were honed before they became Hollowfied, as opposed to Ichigo, who was Hollowfying before he could use Bankai and, in fact, developed it WITH his Hollow form) could be stolen. Personally, I think it's funnier if those two could have used Bankai the whole time but just chose not to out of caution.
It was all part of Aizen's plan. He knows about the incoming quincy invasion, that's why he's researching hollowfication 🤣. Ok I'm sorry, I'm just joking. Couldn't resist.

Mayuri is the only person in existence to create a soul out of nothing (Nemu) while all the others use modified souls. That's what I think pissed Mayuri off about Kisuke. And with Aizen while he isn't as smart as Kisuke in terms of science he is definitely smarter in terms of "social" knowledge. He did outplay Kisuke and got him banned after all. For all we know if he wasn't so full of himself he could've carry out the whole plan to create the Ouken without revealing himself to the Soul Society just like he created all Arrancars without everyone noticing.
Guys the Quincy Hollow thing was the whole reason why Ishin had to help Masaki survive. Urahara was sitting on most of this from then. The final detail just clicked during Part 1.
Urahara started off pioneering his own Gigai research.
Managed to stabalise hollow Souls within soul reapers using that.
Essentially figuring out how to create and contain hybrid souls.
Managed to use 1 hybrid soul to balance another.
Ironically finding some kind of solution to what the Quincy are so afraid of lol.
Managed to facilitate the first natural birth between different species, otherwise impossible till then.
Managed to safely inject hollow souls into soul reaper souls.
In the background we've been seeing Kisuke's life's work flourish. 👌🏽

[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- The idea that Quincy's grudge against hollows is one based on fear of death is an important bit to remember, especially since most or much of these ideas come from Yhwach.
- This episode does great at showing just how dangerous Soi Fons Bankai is, many fans think her Bankai is weak for some odd reason. Many argue that it's too simple, which is the point Soi Fon is pretty blunt and straightforward and emotionally explosive as we've further witnessed throughout this arc.
- Shinji's Bankai occurs relatively quickly here, so for any who don't quite understand, put simply:
it inverts the perception of Allies and Enemies.
Therein all of those caught within his Bankai view their friends and partners as enemies, thus they begin killing each other. Basically Teaming up against Shinji is a bad idea.
In the light Novels, we learn that his Bankai was forbidden, obviously because it can affect Shinji's allies as well.
- Vollstanding is the Transformation that Quilge used, it's the updated form of what Uryu did back in Soul Society. They simply couldn't use it while they had the stolen Bankai.
- Shinji is Ill matched against Bambietta, if this was anyone else they'd already be dead but as we saw she has the ability to just blow up everything around her, so I suppose this becomes a battle of who gets who 1st.
- In the End Credit scene we see that someone is seemingly being torn apart limb from limb, and so far we've only seen 1 person whose missing body parts and has multiple pupils.
- Some forget the relationship between Urahara and Mayuri and that Mayuri is an extremely prideful scientist, so he hates being compared to Urahara and is partly seeking to surpass/out-do him. It Cannot be overlooked that Mayuri was genuinely willing to cut contact with Urahara who had vital info just because he bugged his outfit

You can tell the people working on this anime set out on a damn MISSION to give Shinji some of the best scenes in the show, and one of probably the most unique OSTs in the series for a theme as well.
The reason Shinji was delaying and explaining stuff against Bambietta is so she can call her other girlfriends to help. So he can affect all of them with his Bankai at the same time.

The whole point of Isshin was to suppress the Hollow and keep it separate until it left his Masaki and until Ichigo was strong enough for it to not make him die from Soul Suicide. As soon as his Zanpakuto awakened and Ichigo became more powerful the seal Isshin was maintaining broke and the Hollow was freed and fused with the Shinigami power pretty much all in one action.
Yhwach was not holding his Shinigami/Hollow power back. He was holding his Quincy power back and only allowing it to come out when his life was in danger.
Rukia's intent and that method is supposed to just allow someone to be a Shinigami temporarily however Ichigo already IS a Shinigami and it basically just awoke the power already dormant within him causing him to absorb all her power and make it take longer for her to recover. Later, they use the same exact method to reawaken it in the Fullbring Arc. It's not like Ichigo just permanently has all the Captains energy and what not it just created a more powerful awakening.

There was no intent, Rukia did gave Ichigo her shinigami power, and while it did awake his own power, the one in command was old man zangetsu, his quincy, so back then, Ichigo was never able to fully use his shinigami side because it was hold back
Just so yall are aware, Shinji didn’t use his Bankai against Aizen, that was just his Shikai. If Shinji had used his Bankai, Shinji likely could have overpowered Kyoka Suigetsu and had Gin/Tosen/Aizen facing each other until Aizen released his own Bankai or he just evolved out of it with the Hogyoku. But at the same time, all the Soul Reapers would have turned against each other as well. So, he was stuck in a lose-lose scenario.
I would argue that even if he didn't have his allies there it would still be bad. Gin never actually viewed Aizen as an ally and neither Aizen saw him as one. So Shinji's bankai would probably make the whole situation worse because they would acutally start fighting together lmao

In terms of the whole quincy and hollow thing, we also see it from the last cour when Ichigos mom got infected by the hollow and when urahara was explaining how she'd basically die if isshin didnt sacrifice his soul reaper powers.

Hollowfying the bankais was a great idea calling back to season 1 and gave their bankais really cool designs. Shinji's bankai is limited because it literally turns everyone within an area against each other. He couldn't do it against Aisen with everyone around. But surrounded by enemies, it's an insane bankai.
Hollow powers being poisonous is also a major plot point of Everything but the Rain.
When Ichigo's mom got bitten by the holloe her soul needed to be stabilized by another entity (Isshin) for the rest of her life to stop the soul from collapsing.
While for the Vizards, a vaccine was enough to prevent the soul collapsing. So it was already established that Hollow powers are a lot more dangerous for Quincies
I think the back story with Masaki was supposed to be the foreshadowing as to the quincy/hollow relationship. Its nice that they mentioned Sternritter J, because it didn't make much sense that he could subjugate Ayon's reishei in the manga, it's nice that they have explained that it did indeed have a detrimental impact
You said you haven't seen quincies use Voltstandig or Volt Stern Dich but the thing is. YOU HAVE back when they were in Hueco Mundo and fighting Sternritter "J" the Jail he used it and turned into an angel.
I really liked Shinij taunting Bambietta about calling her friends back. He was clearly trying to get a whole group of Quincies together so he could use his Bankai against them.

The only time he tricked them was in the split second when he changed places, right before toshiro stabbed him. It would make no sense otherwise that momo would’ve been able to handle the equivalent of eight captain level fighters back to back

It kind of annoys me that at 3:47 Cang Du says it must be the first time Toshiro has seen his bankai from that side. He used it after he stole it from him during the first invasion. The same mistake was made in the manga and it's weird they kept that line in despite it being completely wrong.
Perhaps the first time around, the wings of Toshiro's Bankai didn't fully appear due to the heat of Yamamoto's Bankai. That may be why Cang Du says that.

The Vaizards don't necessarily have their Hollow power mixed with their Zanpakuto. They can don their mask regardless of the state of their Zanpakuto. Now, Urahara made a pill that specifically hollowfies a targeted Bankai. Not really even the Zanpakuto spirit itself, but the Bankai state alone. So it's possible that a Vaizard might have had their Bankai stolen before the pill was invented. We know that Ichigo's Hollow powers have a different origin and nature from the other Vaizards. His Zanpakuto _is_ the Hollow inside him.
Don't understand why they made Shinji use the hollow pill when he is already Hollowfied lol. It would've been a nice opportunity to hype up the three Vizored captains by saying the Quincys are weaker against them or smt and their bankais cannot be stolen.

There is a difference between Ichigo and the vizards. The vizards were soul reapers that had hollow powers forced onto them. Ichigo had a hollow that fused with his soul reaper powers from the beginning, so they are one and the same. Unless Kubo has already said otherwise, that means it might be possible to take Shinji’s Bankai since it should be separate from his hollow powers by default. At least I believe it’s a possibility.
Hollowfied state bankais are temporary but the fact that quincies cant retake them is permanent

@@tightgripis bankai only swaps the perception of friend & foe, so allies appear to be enemies & vice versa. It’s basically only useful if the fight is Shinji vs a group. It’s useless in a 1v1 or if Shinji has allies with him.
Also in Bankai his weapon has a ring on both sides of the weapon, in Shikai the ring is only on 1 end. Against Bambi (the female Quincy) he’s only using Shikai.

None of the Vizards had their Bankais stolen, but the other captains lost their Bankais before the Vizards could even go for it, so they didn't even try. It's a debate in the fandom as to whether or not their Bankais (which were honed before they became Hollowfied, as opposed to Ichigo, who was Hollowfying before he could use Bankai and, in fact, developed it WITH his Hollow form) could be stolen. Personally, I think it's funnier if those two could have used Bankai the whole time but just chose not to out of caution.
