I'm still surprised by the level of detail that Pierrot put into Yamamoto's bankai, the flames that cover him are the most realistic I've seen in any animation, you can see his breath and even his eyebrows move on fire😮🔥, the animation in this episode he is god level.
The water being completely evaporated then condensating back when Yamamoto released his Bankai was the moat beautiful little tip of attention to details I've seen in a while. It just works so well to be raining when the Head Captain dies
Many paid attention to the animation in this episode, but the best part for me was the character breakdown of Yama and how well Ywach uses mental tactics to win instead of sheer power. Ywach had Yama's squad and lieutenant killed first, this ultimately turned Yama into a rage monster fighting for revenge - Here Yama is being completely spiteful, so instead of treating Ywach like a true threat and just erasing him, he tries to belittle, demean and torture him. In doing so, Yama isn't fighting like an experienced Commander which leads to him making the mistake of overusing his energy, which is why it was weak enough for Ywach to steal.
He could take it regardless of if Yama was 100% or not. You're literally just typing headcanon. "Weak enough to steal." Huh? Do you even pay attention to the things you're watching?
Royd Lloyd completely copied Yhwach's personality and mind... Meaning Yhwach did indeed care about his past quincy comrades. Despite seeming ruthless, he would react the same. BTW. The fact that both Aizen and Yhwach sealed Yamamoto's power instead of fighting him tells you all. Yamamoto is crazy powerful!
I remember reading this fight and accepted Bleach would never return This episode was perfectly adapted. But man poor Old Man Yama was blinded by rage. If only he got like one injury/stab, he would've been able to tell he was fake by their spiritual pressure
did you notice that the quincy and yhwach said to three people that are the special threats : ichigo by the jail guy, zaraki by yhwach copy, and aizen by yhwach
@14:54 I was freaking out during this scene screaming *"straight off the manga panel!!"* They adapted this scene so well. It's as of they plucked it straight from the manga lol.
In the beginning of the series and in the SS arc, Rukia had an inner monologue talking about how Soul Reapers are taught never to feel or have emotions because they are useless to them in battle, if they even feel a shred of emotion then they already lost the battle or will be hesitant to complete their task. Thinking how Yamamoto is the one who started the whole Academy and started to care about the people around him. Taking in students like Shunsui and Jushiro. With also Chojiro having been by his side for a long time, he completely forgot about his teachings and was blinded by rage and grief, which lead to his end. Also pride was part of his downfall, should have gotten that arm healed but old man who took pride in his battle scars and didn't want to exploit humans. Wild. I'm glad yall enjoying Bleach so much!!! It gets BETTER THAN THIS...TRUST ME🤲🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥺🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭😭

Many misinterpret Yhwach action toward his subordinate as cold and evil but that's not true, believe it or not that was a mercy killing. I think the mindset behind Yhwach is that the ends will justify the means, he's put aside his feelings to get the job done. Royd Loyd copies a person's complete memories and personality, so him reacting that way is legit how Yhwach feels, Yhwach is simply focusing on the mission because he understands that anything less is a weakness that Shinigami wouldn't fail to take advantage of.
Exactly... They think because him killing the arrancars makes him cold towards his subordinates but yhwach do not consider those arrancar has his subordinates whatsoever
This is a year late but reading this comment me reminded me that scene of him doing the Auswahlen against Ichibei and calling the fallen quinces comrades. I now wonder if that had more meaning than what it looks like initially 🧐
Yamamoto was far too sure of his own superiority, too sure that his victory was inevitable since it seems like 1000 years ago was a landslide W for the Soul Reapers. He couldn't fathom NOT slapping Yhwach around like this. Yamamoto's strength is also his curse, as anyone seriously going against the Soul Society needs to have an answer for him. Aizen had Wonderweiss and Yhwach had Royd. The thing between Aizen and Yhwach is that they both knew one would have to kill the other before the end, so why waste time and energy pretending to be allies when the end result will be the same?
Rroyd wasn't the answer. Rroyd was a distraction. Yhwach could have taken the bankai at any point. But he wanted to have a private conversation with aizen hoping aizen would join them.
@@toshiro-kano It certainly didn't hurt. If the emotional damage of being played for a fool hadn't hit Yamamoto, he probably would have at least continued to fight for a while longer even without his Bankai, and Yhwach is operating on a time limit.
@@ttlpwn34 I don't think Yamamoto wouldn't have really cared about being tricked personally. It would be more of like we saw where hos thought process was "if you aren't yhwach where is the real one?" And he didn't keep fighting him cause he knew there was no point. No one would have been able to save him he knew he was dead without his bankai there.
@@adityakasthuri1462 it absolutely hurt aizen. Aizen had to make a small retreat and is visible shown to have damage. Was it major/critical damage? No. If Yamamoto wasn't being held back by FKT he would have used bankai and beaten aizen
@@toshiro-kano I see.... I thought he was not damaged because there was no physical damage visible on him, and he was able to counter Hollow Ichigo's Getsuga Tenshou.
It is hard to tell how strong that Yourself ability was when he took over Yhwach, we didn't really see him use any abilities really. But even if we was able to just take over Yhwach's physical abilities(unsure if he was able to copy him or just look like him but I think it was to make a perfect copy), it just goes to show how physically strong Yhwach is, that without powers, he could body Kenpachi at this point.
Rroyd Lloyd's ability allows him to copy appearance memories and personality perfectly. So he automatically gets all the abilities because they would be in the memories right? Then my theory as to why he was still as strong/powerful as he was is that Because yhwach is able to transfer his powers between himself and the Quincy he transferred some of his power to rroyd to make it more believable. And you might say well he already transferred some of his power to him to give him his ability but rroyd/Lloyd both were born with their powers.
Lloyd was just that strong, his brother who fought Kenpachi and lost had the stronger ability which also copies the powers of the one being copied while Lloyd only copies memories and appearance. Granted Yamamoto was full on rage mode and wasn't thinking clearly hence why he lost at the end.
@@TrainHardnett royds is the better of the two. Memories = fighting ability and techniques and potentially abilities unless they are unique/unlearned abilities. Loyds can only match the power/ability of the person it copies and nothing else. So unless he copies them at their absolute maximum power level or he copies someone that is absolutely more powerful than anyone else and is also able to use all their abilities, Loyd is just inferior. At the very least with royd he is more powerful than no eye patch zaraki. But again my theory is Yhwach gave him some of his own power to fill the gap and make it more believable. But that's my theory. I don't see any other possibilities.
9:30 now it makes sense how old man yama didn't use his bankai against aizen....i mean wonderweiss most likely would have absorbed the power, but if it's enough to reach critical before soul society is destroyed....imagine the world of the living, karakura town....dammmnnn
In the manga, Captain Commander's Zanka no Tachi: North was weirdly depicted. After all those amazing, powerful techniques, after bringing down the Apocalypse, his final attack was something that looked like a regular Getsuga Tensho... I am glad the animation showed us that he actually launched a nuke at that time.
The guy kenpachi lost to is not basic, they are twins, the one he killed copies appearance and powers of people, the one Yamamoto killed copies appearance and memories and experiences of people so technically the person zaraki lost to has the experience of yhwach so he likely used it to his advantage, hence why yamaji was also deceived.
Imagine fighting someone and he summons ALL your dead homies that he killed to fight against you LOL that ultimate disrespect smh Fun Fact - Yamamoto has one of the highest kill count in the entire Anime universe, sitting at 10 trillion kills.
The letter does not determine power scaling at all. Because in future episode, Zaraki will fight one of the strongest if not the strongest quincy army And his letter is V
I saw you looked confused about the special threats. The special threats are the ones with the strongest, smartest, or most unique abilities. They have already said Ichigo is one and Aizen is also one. Aizen is a special threat because of his bankai and his spiritual pressure. Ichigo I won't say why yet. I don't remember when they say all of them but these two are the ones they talked about first.
Yamamoto is definitely the strongest Soul Reaper, on par with Aizen or even slightly stronger. Yhwach needed to use a cheap but efficient trick to catch him off guard, just like Aizen did. My favorite character man, R.I.P. Yamamoto.😢
Removing potential immortality from the hogyouku Yamamoto stomps aizen. Even with the hogyouku it's arguable that Yamamoto still beats him since his ability seemingly destroys things at an atomic level.
@@muchoyurdem5260 aizen isn't a god. Explain how aizen beats Yamamoto? We've already seen he is willing to allow himself to be injured to get through Kyokasuigetsu and I'm sure his bankai would just overwhelm aizen anyways.

@@toshiro-kano Spoiler: Ichibei is already stronger than Yamamoto and even he got clapped by Yhwach without any problems the moment he brought out the Almighty. Do people actually forget that we as viewers have information the characters dont? Mayne Ywach was different back then you know, and even if he figures out that guy was a fake it was already too late.
Lel that unexpected Aizen analysis at the end after the "I don't think Aizen ever lied remark" You know a dude is so good he still rattles people even after getting defeated. They be right, he technically never lied, despite being a master deceiver. Its just that he would guide people, subordinate and enemy, to a truth he never said and take advantage of it. Only Gin could say he one-upped him on that regard and look where that got him
Rroyd Lloyd's power allows him to become a perfect copy of anyone and take their memories and personality perfectly. So it's not that crazy that Yamamoto was fooled. And to top it off because he has his memories he automatically has all of Yhwachs powers/techniques. And then Yhwach can transfer portions of his own power to the Quincy so my theory was always that he gave rroyd Lloyd part of his power (he and his brother always had there mimicking abilties they weren't given to them by yhwach) to make it more believable that it was Yhwach that Yamamoto was fighting and when we see him destroy rroyd that is him taking the power back.

Also, didn't you find it weird that Aizen wasn't even remotely fazed by the Quincy invasion ? Like he potentially knew they were coming ? => The fact that we never saw Aizen's bankai kind of makes me suspicious.
Something to be stated, if Quincies steal Bankai, only two Soul Reapers got this far without using Bankei, Zaraki and Aizen, of course they are Special Threats.
the reason Yamamoto sense nothing was wrong is because The YOurself is as strong as Yhwach was 1000 years ago and used the same powers. which also explains as to why Yamamoto easily killed him with Bankai since 1000 years have past and old man obviously got stronger as well as confirm by his bankai evolved state
What I like about this fight is that the fake Yhwach never put up a actual threat to yama he never even hurt him. Yhwach being this weak even after 1000 years That should have been a giveaway but Yama was blinded by anger. Also the events of the fight played out similarly to 1000 years ago. Since Y has Yhwach memories he probably mimicked exactly what Yhwach did in their fight subtle things like that probably would have been noticed if Yamamoto was thinking straight.
In case anyone ask why the old man had to quickly use his power is because his power is too powerful that it would kill everything & everyone if he continues using it too long. So that’s why the old man power is a double edge sword
So I believe sternritter Y and his brother have the ability to like turn into people, and so technically speaking he actually had Ywachs powers and used them well enough to be a distraction, I understand thinking that Yamamoto was easily deceived but it really is almost a perfect disguise, and Yamamoto never showed him the other forms of his bankai, so he just believed he was that much stronger then Ywach. That’s how I always thought it was
Actually, the two "Y" brothers have slightly different powers. The one Kenpachi fought can mimick appearance and abilities, while the one Yama fought can mimick appearance and personality/memories. Hence why the latter one could act so much like Yhwach that even Yama was fooled.
Old man Yama was blinded by rage. Yhwach planned it perfectly. He riled Yama up by killing his vice captain and oldest friend, and killing the entire 1st division. That's why Yama was acting differently before the fight. All he could think of was revenge and finding his friends killer
I was waiting for this and for the confirmation of my application to university. Both came out on the same time but I can't say I wasn't more anxious for the reaction lmao
i know you guys already finished the show on patreon, but I'll say it here anyway, just in case someone still doesnt know the reason yama didnt know he was fighting the imposter is because, there were twins, one that copied looks and power (zaraki killed this one), and the other copied looks and memories (the one yama fought) so there was no way to know that he was an imposter, since he had the king's memories along with his looks and take into account that yama was hella pissed he wasnt trying to kill the dude, he wanted to hurt him first, thats why he wasted time using all parts of his bankai
@@DRASERUS no..... His ability creates a perfect copy. Indistinguishable from the real one. And to add to OPs comment rroyds is arguably potentially better than his brothers because since he copies the memories he automatically gets all of the person's abilities anyways. @@toshiro-kano i still stand to my second comment. That why i add the "BTW" just in case u didn't know. He lost cuz he's not in the right mind and definitely not because of the stern ritter fooled him
Remember Yammamoto didn't even use his full power by his first battle with Yhwach and now he use his full power and he was full of rage so it make sense Yammamoto didn't notice he was a fake.
No... Royds ability is to create a perfect copy of the person complete with memories and personality. Yamamoto just got fooled. Emotions had nothing to do with it. Had Yamamoto fought Loyd (the person zaraki fought) he wouldn't have been fooled.
The real thing that gave it away for me is, when the fake yhwach was initially surprised seeing Yamamoto bankai! He has seen the first stage of it 1000 years ago and, Yama even tells him "don't you remember my bankai from 1000years ago".
@@edwincastillo8280 In their first fight zanka notachi east worked differently, it coated his blade in fire instead of creating a charred blade. The charred blade focuses all of his flames into an explosive slash, its much more deadly than his original version.
It's impossible to know that he was a fake. And yhwach do care about his subordinates, he killed the arrancars without remorse but he wouldn't do so against his fellow quincies
Royd's version of "Yourself" allows him not to just copy his opponent's appearance, but it also allows him to copy the memories and knowledge of them as well. So it was impossible to tell he was fake
Sternritter Y is twin The "L" Lloyd Loyd (idk how to write it lol) has power to copy appearance & power The "R" Royd Loyd has power to copy appearance & memory I think copying memory gave him yhwach combat experience too that's why he can beat kenpachi

The sternritter Yama fought could perfectly copy personality and memories of the one he copied. So if Ywach were to fight Yamamoto fairly he would have acted in exact same way. Which is why he chose not to fight Yamamoto fairly.

No you're mixing up the abilities. Loyd Lloyd is the one that fought zaraki and what you described is his ability though even then he doesn't match the perceived power he matches the power of the person at that moment hence why zaraki beats him simply by becoming stronger than he was when loyd copied him. Royd Lloyd is the one that fought Yamamoto. His ability is to copy the appearance, memories and personality of the person. It says nothing about the power level/SP. So royds is arguably better since it automatically gives him the person's learned abilities through copying memories. Now as for the strength part being that of Yhwachs. Yhwach can transfer power between Quincy and himself. So potentially that's what yhwach did with royd. He gave royd more power to match his old strength.
@@gabrieloseguera7799 Tbf the power transfer thing is my own theory but it's the kind of the only thing that makes sense otherwise because Like I said it doesn't say that he matches the power of the person he's copying unlike his brother and if he didn't somehow get a power boost Yamamoto would have noticed the difference in power levels. But yes yhwach as well as Haschwalth both have the ability to give power to other Quincy. Honestly wish Y had more time. He was cool
Wild.

It would be more of like we saw where hos thought process was "if you aren't yhwach where is the real one?"
And he didn't keep fighting him cause he knew there was no point. No one would have been able to save him he knew he was dead without his bankai there.
I could be wrong but Yamamato lost his arm back fighting against Aizen.

@@toshiro-kano I think The R get Yhwach combat experience from his memory
So maybe he beat kenpachi with Yhwach combat experience
@@EVT.Deimos well yes that's part of it.
I see it as a super fast, guaranteed hit, instant kill attack
The guy kenpachi lost to is not basic, they are twins, the one he killed copies appearance and powers of people, the one Yamamoto killed copies appearance and memories and experiences of people so technically the person zaraki lost to has the experience of yhwach so he likely used it to his advantage, hence why yamaji was also deceived.

Nah man whoever is the editor they did Kenny dirty with those coughing sounds 😂😂
Something to be stated, if Quincies steal Bankai, only two Soul Reapers got this far without using Bankei, Zaraki and Aizen, of course they are Special Threats.
the reason Yamamoto sense nothing was wrong is because The YOurself is as strong as Yhwach was 1000 years ago and used the same powers.
which also explains as to why Yamamoto easily killed him with Bankai since 1000 years have past and old man obviously got stronger as well as confirm by his bankai evolved state
17:19 This line of impostor of YHWACH.
I think this line foreshadowed that Genryusai fought was a fake.
Kenpachi and his fandom got humbled real quick .😆
too much HEAT 🔥🔥🔥
What I like about this fight is that the fake Yhwach never put up a actual threat to yama he never even hurt him. Yhwach being this weak even after 1000 years That should have been a giveaway but Yama was blinded by anger. Also the events of the fight played out similarly to 1000 years ago. Since Y has Yhwach memories he probably mimicked exactly what Yhwach did in their fight subtle things like that probably would have been noticed if Yamamoto was thinking straight.
Imagine if the Shinigami in Hueco Mundo that was filler actually was the goat that saved the squad.
12:19 the editor was wrong for that one 😂😂
Lol
Yes Kenpachi still had his eyepatch on
Old man Yama was blinded by rage. Yhwach planned it perfectly. He riled Yama up by killing his vice captain and oldest friend, and killing the entire 1st division. That's why Yama was acting differently before the fight. All he could think of was revenge and finding his friends killer
Don’t be counting Kenpachi out they got to put some respect on his name soon enough! Lol

i know you guys already finished the show on patreon, but I'll say it here anyway, just in case someone still doesnt know
the reason yama didnt know he was fighting the imposter is because, there were twins, one that copied looks and power (zaraki killed this one), and the other copied looks and memories (the one yama fought)
so there was no way to know that he was an imposter, since he had the king's memories along with his looks
and take into account that yama was hella pissed he wasnt trying to kill the dude, he wanted to hurt him first, thats why he wasted time using all parts of his bankai
Nah mate it's pretty obvious that something is wrong sad that yama didn't realize it cuz he's blinded by his anger
@@DRASERUS no..... His ability creates a perfect copy. Indistinguishable from the real one. And to add to OPs comment rroyds is arguably potentially better than his brothers because since he copies the memories he automatically gets all of the person's abilities anyways. When did I ever say both don't copy the appearance? Royds is just a superior version to loyds

2 the rage is literally shown in his face
3 the fact that yamamoto who is one of the most smartest and most expirience Character in the show wouldn't notice something is weird is proving that he is not thinking straight
He feeling a lot of emotion but I said anger cuz that's definitely the emotion he feeling the most.
It wasnt exactly the same, yamamoto's bankai had changed in those 1000 years.

@@toshiro-kano huh 🤔 ok thanx for the correct info and I’d didn’t know he could give power I thought he just took it so yeah that would explain it
