Hello, thank you for your question. The original plan was to walk to a loch but I changed my mind and went for the hill walk. That said the firebox is designed to take a trangia burner so for me i like to have fun and also it is of interest how it can perform in such a location. As a small youtuber it's important to try different things so if I go up to the hills 50 times and always use the trangia stove itself then there's a lack of mixing things up. I will be taking the trangia up to the hills very soon as I adore it. I find the aluminum does stick a wee bit and as I was doing an omelette and I really only get one chance up there I decided to take a non stick pan just to be safe. Also the firebox is my favourite piece of equipment and I take it to many pkaces and it becomes a pert of my outdoor journey, Thank you for watching and your comment, Chris
Always enjoy your videos. Beans and eggs are a great combo and cooked outside is a bonus. Thanks for the longer videos and taking us along with you to another beautiful area.
Thanks a lot. I was once heading out for a cook and my wife said what have you got in the bag...bacon and eggs...I said indeed I do😁😁😂😂. Beans, Bacon and eggs my fav combo ha ha, but didn't think to take bacon on this one. It was such a beautiful place I thought the longer video would do it justice, thanks for watching and the comment, cheers Chris
Nice one Chris. I agree with you 100% about the outdoor food and cooking. I own a firebox as well and it’s that time of year again when I get it out in the forest so I understand how it feels like an old friend. Sounds daft but it’s a thing. I actually own two. I bought the stainless version and loved it so much I sent to the US for a titanium version. A moment of madness, but hey we do that sometimes 😂
Thanks Paul. Great to hear that you have the lighter version of the firebox as well, could make a difference for the hiking etc and going lighter. I know where you are coming from, I call mine the journey stove becasue I basically take it everwhere and it gives me great experiences. I suppose with two stoves you can cook twice as much😎 and that sounds great, cheers for the comment and the view. Chris
Hi mate, nice to hear from you, I always remember your drone footage down along the coast there so finally got a cheap one, does the job. I'm lucky that location is less than 1 hour away yet it feels so so wild. Thanks for watching and as I say great to hear from you, thanks chris
Beans mate, very hard to beat for an outdoor/ survival feed. You can eat them without having to boil water and you can eat them straight from the can if you can’t get a fire started 😎👍. Red deer were a fine sight too😊👍
Beans and eggs Billy, beans and eggs cant beat em ha ha. I'm putting on the winter reserves. Those deer are the highlight of the year for me, I often see them from the car but to see them up there and film was awesome. Cheers
Hi Jesse, well I saw instant mash potato and then instant mash wuth cheese in the supermarket and I thought...I'll skip the cheese one for now lol, still detoxing. I was sitting at someones house and they offered me fresh ginger tea, amazing. I really liked it up there, hope you well. cheers Chris
I like the "Spice Taylor" lentil thing that has turned up in UK supermarkets. £2.50 for 400ml. Just warm it through. They are shelf stable and store for years. Tasty.
Hi there, I know the very one and have tried it, it comes in handy for the quick but tasty and healthy category whcih I like, good price to and easily good for a camping trip, thanks for watching the videos, cheers Chris
I had 1 pork chop for the next 4 days after that as not to waste it😎😂. I will redeem myself! I will try be more creative with recipes and cost, can still eat good for cheap, no one would starve if they ate my porkchop dish😂. What made it worse was it was mature cheddar cheese which is really strong, normally i get the mild.😁
Oh I think I remember you said you had a dehydrater? If so baked beans dehydrate well, that would reduce the weight especially if you are taking all your food on the trail
Cheers Lezley, I keep meaning to do a dehydrated camping meal, I'm forgetful! I'm looking for a one man tent for hill camping and will be looking for lightweight food as well, I'm on it!
lol aye I think I had zero spanish going on😎. I only decided to do this one in the morning so had very little. Shame they dont do the beanz, I'll look online for some. cheers
Why do you bring the fire box instead of the proper Trangia stove? The full stove will provide better wind protection.

Love every video you make, Chris!
Thanks Ben, really appreciate that, love making them to, some beautiful locations here.
What an amazing spot Chris, the remoteness is so appealing.
Hey Trev, thanks, that location is less than an hour away, lucky eh heh heh. In these times i find the remoteness to be a friend👍👍
Beautiful spot to have a nice meal😁

Great outlook for a good feed. Even the simple ginger tea looked great for the occasion. Hope the cheese hangover is slowly fading!

I wonder if pinto beans would give it more of the Spanish flavour, not that I've tried one of the creation packets
