My school is having the fire alarm system replaced from protec with appolo, so this week its appolo on the ground floor but the 1st floor is still protec divises. All the appolo detectors are multipoints, they are heat and co2 at day time and smoke at night time, and i have the same appolo call points as you in yore shed and utility room, and the sounders are the same as what you had in the garage on test 3 (not shure if you remember) but they flash.
Can you do some hochiki fire alarm tests but not on the house system because on new system test 22 i saw you say that you cant wire them in the full house system so can you do it on a board ore something like that

3:15 the same thing happened on one of the sounder beacon base at my school so here's the truth so the fire alarm went off at 12:40 but one of the sounder beacon base is not working it is on a discovery smoke detector hooked up to a advanced mx4 and a mx5
That’s a question too complicated to answer because I judge based on many parameters. Also need to actually play with it to have an opinion and I have only ever messed with conventional, apollo intelligent Gent intelligent and hochiki intelligent.
Hello again testlogs , 2 things , 1) are you sounder bases XP95 or Discovery / intelligent? - dont read the rest is there discovery. 2) How do you get the XP95 bases to do alert tone when in pre-alarm? ^^ I've serched all over loop explorer and I just cant seem to find an option to do that. Ive got the sounders to sound when in pre-alarm but i need them to do the alert tone. Please help if you can.

Turned out to still work. I am doing away with the voice souders in time they don’t sync with the rest of the system and it’s doing my head in haha 😂. I will keep them for a demo rig.
my pc won't detect my syncro when I plug it in any suggestions as to why please? - Answer - Make sure the comport is selected as the same one as your computer
all i can say is some usb to serial converters dont work, or dont work well with the synchro. its expecting RS232 that standard is logic levels that go -12v to +12v those little adapters you can get that convert the USB to serial or most likely for the cheapy ones TTL serial which ranges from 0v to 5V or 0v to 3.3v, now these can work but they need to be set up right and if the adapter does not have a utility to modify the signals to be inverted its likely going to give you trouble. ie panel not showing up in the software. thats one possible issue your having. the other issue you could be having is your not telling it which com port to use. loop explorer can see com ports 1 to 8 so if your adapter is showing up in device manager as something out of that range your gonna have to set it to a com port in that range in device manager then set it to that port in loop explorer.
@@testlogs9005 I have fixed it I had the wrong com port selected. But while I have you , I have the same sounder as your voice sounder but without the voice but I want it for the alert tone only but I can’t get the alert tone for some reason. I’ve tried using loop explorer, no luck there so I emailed Apollo and they said in order to have the alert tone active it needs to be set via panel. We have the same panel would you know how to do that? Also when the panel goes into pre - alarm , all of your sounders go on alert tone and when in Fire then go evacuation tone , how do I set my sounder bases/ beacon bases to do that? I have loop explorer version 6. Also another issue , whenever I change my addresses on my devices , the panel does not register the change even when auto learned or manually learnt. Even a second hand sounder that was address 25 is showing up on the panel as 126 when it hasn’t been changed - if you can help with my problems that would be amazing. Thanks

Because the heat detector doesn’t sound so he hidden a voice sounder behind the Cupboard so that many people thinks the sound is coming from the heat detector
Im new to the apollo xp95 system. I find that the optical in my bedroom may be a little too sensitive. Is there a way to adjust how sensitive the optical is?
replace the sensor with a discovery one if your panel supports it. page 2 of the data sheet for the device shows the table with all the modes and what they do. you can change the mode from the panel.
I had once made an xp95/discovery demo board for my apprenticeship. I found the multisensors very very hard to set off. They were pumped full of solo but nothing happened.
They are designed to have some sort of intelligence to try and send actual fire signatures, ie temps going up as well as smoke. There is a smoke level threshold that if you maintain smoke for long enough it will trigger.
oh no! the garage sounder decided it is time to die. Possibly loose wire or being a shit that does not want to respond. what was the outcome of that sounder
The sounder was actually fine it was just the panel playing funny, like it did with the dining room sounder. Restarting the panel fixes the issue. Still not ideal either way I found that out after replacing the sounder with an xp95 open area. Aw well.

Hello again test logs , My Discovery sounder was up inside the same room as the panel , after running a weekly test on 2 call points it’s was all fine but after resetting the panel I got a fault. I was confused. I looked at it and it said “internal fault”. The device was still working / sounding like it’s meant to do but it kept saying internal fault. Do you know what could have caused this? Do you know if there is a way to fix this? Do I just buy a new head? If you want photos of the wiring ect please send me your email. Thanks - Overload

Connor when the shed used to be a smoke detector. Why did you replace it for a heat detector instead of a multi sensor
the use of the space changed where a smoke detector caused issues. it can go back to being a smoke detector now tbh as its just used for storage.

yeah, i am going to put it down to a programming error. its been replaced with a XP95 open area for the time being.
