hey Nic your content has been great and its really kept me entertained since i broke my arm and some other bones recently. Since watching your videos I have got inspired to become an eletrician and Ive already got my first bosch Security alarm system. Although it has a ground fault on it I will fix it and learn from it and learn how to install Petronic fire alarm systems because I live all the way in new zealand. I also have to be much more carful with the eletricity than you guys in canada because our normal line voltage is 240 and ive already had a kick by that when I was 4 while messing around with A light socket. But Hopefully this message inspires you that 12 Year Olds Like Me in 8th Grade are Watching your videos and learning tips on how to wire Security alarms like your DSC and Honeywell Seres Fire Alarms. Cant wait to see more content in the future. Bye for now. Jamie Oosterbroek
Hey Nic, have you ever encountered any Mircom systems? Locally in Alberta, most of the commercial buildings have Mircom systems and I’d love to see some content on them.
I have worked on them I think I only have a video on one or two. lots of people complain. Their quality isn't good and that they are cheap. However, I haven't had any bad experiences with them they seem decent.
Start it up once a week and changed oil after the first 10 hours and then after every 50 at most but I'll probably end up doing it more frequent and then do a carb clean and air filter clean at the same time
@@nics-systems-electric I know it's not instant. Just from the like 2 times you've done it i'm surprised the liquid inside hasn't expanded to the point the beed breaks. Though I guess it would just shrink back when it cools down.
What are your least fire alarm panel to work on/troubleshoot. Mines is EST because the installer be putting over 200 devices on 1 loop and they t-tap like crazy on different floors which make it difficult to troubleshoot ground fault
Why would I? The 9200 is already way overkill both the house and the garage could get away with a 50 point panel it's all about what is available for the price sometimes larger panels are cheaper than the small ones as they are more readily available
@@nics-systems-electric They are selectable. Just take the device off the wall, and there's a white switch on the top left side of the device where you do your wiring to change the strobe candela level
That is usually done if the security system is being used for monitoring even though that isn't a ULC listed monitoring set up. however the security system is not monitord so it would not be offering monitoring or extra functionality
why are commercial photoelectric smoke detectors so expensive? they seem so cheap and plasticy. i get that they have to pass certifications and stuff but still, they seem very cheaply made and like they wouldn't be very expensive at all.
Always gotta love the garage system.
You have some interesting gimmicks in this system like the carbon monoxide detector. Very cool!
Very nice project, it’s always good to have a manual trigger to sound the alarm
I always have loved the garage system tests!

Hey that's awesome, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the videos. Hope your arm gets well soon. Thanks for your comment !

I love the blue strobe

@@nics-systems-electric there a lot of Mircom systems in southern Ontario some simplex rarely notifier, fire lite and est
Always love the testing videos
What’s your maintenance schedule for your generator? How often do u change the oil?

can you do a test for when the alarm goes off, we have a view of the ac blades slowing
I'm surprised that bathroom sprinkler head has gone off yet from you jokingly pointing the heat gun at it.
Would take heat for a little bit before going off it's not instant even with a blowtorch

Is it possible to connect a System sensor MDL sync module to the Remote Sync Output on a firelite panel?

T tapping sounds more like the electrical contractor not specific to any brand but I agree that EST is horrible to work on
Question! Why’s there a horn strobe in the little shed 😂 it’s a tiny space
If there was something quieter I would've used it I've got it as quiet as it will go and have tape on it
@ alrighty
BRO IS SUPER TALL
Hey nic i got a question for ya how would you know if you're fire alarm goes off snd your not in town what would you do if it happens like that

Can you make a video on how to set off the carbon M strobes when there is a test or there is Carbon M?
I showed in this video hitting the test button

Just curious, where's the "fixing the minicar horn" video?

I got a system sensor chime only, and it’s coming in a few days. (it’s a l series)

How did you wire the carbon monoxide alarm to the system
Check out my video installing it
how did you wire up the carbon monoxide detector to your panel and alarms?
Check out the video I did on it a couple years back
@@nics-systems-electric ok
is the carbon monoxide detector the only device that makes a alarm sound ?
How come you can’t use walk test in Canada?
you should add an annunciator for the system
No point. I already have a video on why
Plus, he has one in the house.
I wonder are you gonna ever upgrade the Carbon Monoxide System to be voice evac
Nope I don't have a voice evacuation system
@@nics-systems-electricare you planning on doing a collection vid
I will some day.. what do you mean you still don’t have some btw I live in Canada-Happy Valley-Goose Bay NL. 12:47
1:53 how did that door close by itself? Or do you just have ghosts in the garage
Door holder magnet lets go when the fire alarm system activates to stop the spread of smoke and fire
29:18 I thought the panel was doing that by itself but he was covering the alarm
The garage system is cool
Same
My mum didn't let me make videos
Why don´t you have a Notifire NFS in the garage?
notifier nfs series panels are large, his garage is small
Why would I? The 9200 is already way overkill both the house and the garage could get away with a 50 point panel it's all about what is available for the price sometimes larger panels are cheaper than the small ones as they are more readily available

Why would he it don't matter
@@MrKal222 just wondered, but I understand that the garage may be to small for a bigger system like a notifire NFS
TH-cam auto captions labeled the alarm as [Music]
What is walk test?
Maybe you should turn the CO strobe in the main area to 75 candela like you did on the fire strobe.
Not sure if they are actually selectable

Just self monitored
this is better than all
