Creating Nature Marks with Watercolors (Part1)

Have you tried using watercolors to create nature marks? I’ve started a watercolor nature marks art journal, and this is the first part. In this video, I share the techniques I use with both tube and dried watercolors. Feel free to leave your questions and thoughts in the comments!

Really beautiful results - thanks for sharing! Do you lightly press the foliage first to help it stick to the paper?

Thank you. Sometimes they stick but not harming the paper.

When winter is approaching, do you collect natural materials to use later?

Yes I do. Specially If I like the print I collect and save for later.

You have a spread at 8:55 showing a fern on each side. Were those two ferns you laid down, one with the point facing the centerfold and the other with the point facing the page's edge?

It's the same one. The right is darker as it has the liquid paint running underneath. On the left it's lighter from what paint has seeped out in the pressing. One fern, one pressing with closed book = 2 prints. 🙂
