Want to tell you that I have never seen anyone do a fall painting like this. I think you are brilliant!! I love this. I'm so scared to try painting again I've only been doing paintings I'm not happy with. I'm going to take my IPad down to the basement and follow you. I can't thank you enough 💜💜💜
Thank you soooo much Shelly, loving the sponges, absolutely valuable technic's. The glowing autumn leaves really pop this way. I have been following your Wednesday sessions etc now for the last 4 months. I really look forward to them. You have helped immensely. Deb from NZ
I like the sponging the most but would try both techniques...can't wait to see the beautiful colors in Michigan! Mini paintings are quick and fun additions to an art journal! TY Shelley!
Enjoyed this (and every) demo so much - I am rarely able to watch live, so thank you for caching the videos! Both styles are beautiful - thank you for showing options 🤩
Thank you Shelley. I missed the live show again -notification never seems to come thru' in time😢. I want to try this sponge technique for doing a field of bluebells with beech wood backdrop. Been wondering how it would be possible for ages. You are so kind and generous to share with us your wonderful skills.❤❤❤
absolutely gorgeous!! thank you so much for sharing your techniques and giving explanations on why you chose to do the painting a certain way. very very helpful!
We’re cruising to Canada tomorrow for 26nights to see the fall trees! I’ve brought my travel watercolour set along so this is a brilliant tutorial for my trip! Thanks 😊
Enjoyed this and much more it made me feel that for once I would like to try this particular scene and see what I could do. Usually, I don’t like to do this because it’s somebody else and somebody else’s painting, but I want to do some fall paintings and I can’t think of anything better than starting off trying to put my own interpretation on your painting. I won’t do as well long shot. I won’t do well at all probably because I’ve always had trouble painting trees Right now I have shingles miserable right now. I’m feeling a little bit better and saying that I want to paint by the time that time comes tomorrow I may not be in the mood to do anything but they’ll get better someday lol I hope it’s not too late in the fall because right now I feel like painting a fall scene.
I love this painting! What I might have done differently is to leave a few more whites on the red / orange tree around some of the edges to give the effect of being backlit. That’s not what the photo shows, but it would bring the tree forward even more.
I love you videos. I had to listen to this one because the screen that sshowed your working area was too small. Could not see anything. But listening was good, too.
I will definitely try the sponges!
You are so gracious in sharing your knowledge and beautiful paintings. Thank you

The sponging looks fun, I haven’t tried it. Now I’m inspired, thank you Shelley 😊

Thank you Shelly. This is absolutely lovely.

It would be neat to have a white frame around the painting and then paint a branch hanging over the frame.

Was the photo available to print? I really needed a clearer view of the right side of rocks and green trees.

Thanks, and after all its called a sponge! LOL
The background seems too busy and distracts attention from the lovely tree.
I definitely prefer the details. I’m not a fan of abstract
