Thank you. I am about to replace the bearing on my Jointer and this was very useful. However I would think you replaced the bearings and that step would have been even more useful. I have heard from several Shopsmith owners asnd the bearing just do not last foever. I thought Shopsmith would have made a video replacing them, But if they did I could not find it. Thank again.
Tip: put a square of scotch rite on your palm sander, saves time and effort and does a fantastic job. When done use a puffing pad with buffing components to get a mirror finish.
Why didn’t you remove the bearings from the cutter shaft before soaking, don’t think that helped those bearings any, unless you planed on replacing them. Multi tasking is a great thing, you can talk and work at the same time. You put me to sleep a couple of times there. Nice to see old machinery brought back to life. I bought an old Shopsmith that had set out side with just a canvas tarp covering it for 20 years paid the guy $25.00 for it with all the original accoutrements and a joiner and bandsaw. All are in my shop today working like new. I did find a PowerPro head stock for $400 and upgraded it. Love it.
I found at a garage sale still in the original box still sealed, never opened. I asked how much and when they said $400 I about ripped the pocket off my jeans trying to get my wallet out. 🤣😂
Thanks for detailing your process. Very helpful.

Thanks for the comment. Maybe you could make the video!
@@robertlmiller6996 I did find one, but do intend to make one just about replacing the bearings. Thank you for your input. Ted

Did not think of removing the bearings. Remember I am winging it. Goods news, the bearings are still working fine.
Congratulations on finding a Powerpro for that price. Where on earth did you find a deal like that? 😅

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’d love to hear/see how the wax finish is holding up a year later.
It is holding up great. Trouble is you cannot find Johnson Wax anymore. Thankfully I still have some.
Has to be other paste wax out there I hope. I’ve been hearing Johnson is no longer available. I have half tub left and it works great.
Thank you for your Service, good informative video.
Thank you
Like your video and I especially like your work table. Did you buy or build it?
I found it at an estate sale. They had a box to place a silent bid if it did not sell by the end of the day. I bid $100. only offer they got. 😋😁😂
