Great message! 😊 It drives my former Army hubby nuts, when I do multiple projects a little bit at a time 😂❗️

I just found your vlogs etc. Felicia and I wanted to say thank you! I'm gonna definitely give weaving a go. Your love of all things fibre and weaving in particular is so infectious and you have such a lovely and soothing voice. Keep making many lovely videos! ❤😊

Excellent advice, both for the fibre arts and life in general. I’m going to try to keep your advice in mind with various craft projects and household and garden projects. One step at a time! I really enjoyed this vlog, Felicia.

Ah, finding time enough for....fill in the blank everything from making to housecleaning to work. It really does boil down to a simple one step at a time approach. It's the procrastination and unwarranted "fear" that is really the problem, not the task. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with this reality we all face, sometimes multiple times in the day.

Always enjoy your videos. I think you are very talented. It amazes me to see how much you accomplish. Working mom, business owner, wife and personal time with just 24 hours in the day. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Felicia! this certainly resonated with me and my own situation. By the way, the shawl/blanket looks so beautiful, and you wrapped it around you with such movie star flair!

It is funny what we like and don't like to do. I actually love winding the skein into balls. lol I found a few years ago how to make center pull balls by hand. It has become like part of the art process for me. I love that I can make this great center pull yarn ball and have it not only look great but work so well. I have also found that I need to do more than one project at a time. I use to struggle to make myself finish a project before starting a new one. And it finally hit me "WHY"???? I get tired of doing just one thing and then it doesn't get finished. But if I have three or even four going I can go to a different one and my interest is renewed. It also helps with the pain in my hands I have arthritis and Fibromyalgia so changing the size of yarn and needles changes how I hold them and the tension on certain parts of my hands and helps to not constantly be working the same area. I find get so many more things finished this way.

It's very true! We all like different parts of the process... like some weavers are loathe to thread heddles or wind warps, etc... when I was a kid, I would sit for hours and rewind all my precious little hand-me-down yarn stash into balls by hand... I loved that too! But now... I just want to get going :) haha But you make good suggestions about cycling through various different projects to keep the motivation high :)

That was encouraging and it's true....there is more time than we think! We just never really think out just what it is that's driving us nuts & then talk to ourselves about solutions. I always love vids that add tips, tricks, & hacks to help us viewers move fwd in our crafty endeavors.. Thanx for sharing :D

Felicia, do you use a warping board for your rigid heddle? I feel like it takes me extra long to warp mine because I only use the included warping peg, so I'd be interested to hear how much time it saves with a warping board.

I thoroughly enjoy all your videos. I actually take time to watch! Lol
Could have casted on 200 stitches but like you not feeling great so no knitting today. I've inherited a small loom , oh 10yrs ago! Don't know a thing of how to set up, so love your looming upcoming tutorials. Thank you you, for your time. P.s. did laugh last week at your blanket! But hey looks great as a cowl.

I used to to think the same way about housework, until I timed some chores and realised each one didn't take that long, but doing them all at once made it a big deal

I'm not a very quick knitter, and I have a few large, long term projects going that I've hidden away rather than work on because the idea of them taking years stresses me out. I've found the past week, it's actually been a lot easier to work on them if I focus on what I have managed to do on them, rather than what is left. Keeping track of week to week progress with a marker (opposed to letting it all get lost in a sea of stocking stitch) puts it in perspective better.

I found I stopped making things and was disappointed in myself. Then I started looking at my TH-cam time and worked out where the time went. I am still trying to talk myself into warping my 8 shaft table loom which would require I wind the warp which I loathe.. Glad I not the only one.

as always I enjoyed the conversation. Would you mind sharing your perspective on climate change and yarn dyeing. As you were mentioning how the price of wool doubled, I started wondering if climate change might impact the price...I know it is a big question but any input will be very interesting. For instance, as a gardener, I keep a meticulous garden journal. Over the years I notice weeks of drought with barely any rain. It has changed the way I garden, the plants I choose etc...survival of the fittest hahaha...thank you for creating such amazing content and yarn!!!

For sure! There are many reasons why the price of wool has increased. For one, many large apparel manufacturers has been starting to incorporate wool and Merino wool specifically into their garments as well as the fabric for athletic shoes. As well there is increased demand on wool from the market in some areas (I think the biggest ones right now are China and Italy). And finally I believe there has been a drought in Australia which has affected the wool stock and diminished the supply. It appears to be a good example of supply and demand affecting commodity pricing. No doubt climate change would affect wool supply in the future. 😳

I didn’t know that the cost of wool had increased so much... I wish I hadn’t found out! I regret not getting into the hobby when it was cheaper 😅

This is one of the most privileged vlogs i have seen. The reality is that for a lot of people, time isnt there. People who work two jobs and have to take the bus for an hour to get to them because they dont own a car? They have significantly less free time than you do. People without good access to food? they arent using their time to warp their looms. We cant all control how our time is spent: its not a choice that everyone has as much power over it as you do.
