Laughing at all these "bring the old snoop back" comments. Snoop aint a gangsta no more he ain't been on the street shit for over 2 decades now. He is 40+, he is rich, he is one of the most popular artist in the world, and he is a legend. I think this shit is funky and if the rest of the album is similar to this Imma buy it. Big Ups to Snoop for constantly reinventing himself and staying relevant.
Shawn Aponte Only rappers doing the same shit just recycled that dont last, snoop deliver different shit each albums since 92 like a story from the introduction of snoop with doggystyle, nolimit soldier, to eastsidaz being tha boSS dogghouse records too reggae and Funk
Snoop dogg has nothing left to prove in the rap us the guy had the golden age of rap, death row, 2pac, biggie, to unearth talented height, produced the best sounds west coast. This is normal if a little what he wants, he tries to other stuff. The cool thing is that in each of his music there is always a rap side When snoop die I think he will be missed by many people and it will become an icon sorry i'm french and this is google translate
If you wondering what happened to the Old Snoop the answer is he got older and is doing what the fuck he wants to. If you wanna hear some old shit TH-cam it. People kill me living in the past. If he was still talking about gin and juice, people would say he need to grow up. Damn, he is an artist. Let the man create and evolve. Snoop always had a funk side him and Dre helped mold the west coast funk sound, even though Pharrell is producing this, it still has funk influences. You can tell they having fun in the music. This aint the 90s no more damn.
Gotta love irony and hypocritical kiddies like +koremia johnson. You may as well address yourself with the latter part, boy, and this is coming from someone who prefers the oldies himself.
Don't fucking say shit. Music these days is total trash. All of it. Do you see the 10 million views on this compared to some Lil Wayne shit? Yea. So shut the fuck up and go listen to something else. We can live in the past if we want to cuz right now its all shit
Fabian Sauceda just because he appears in a lot of wescoast hooks you think that makes him the reincarnated Nate Dogg ? Ty doesn't even sound anything like nate dogg 😑 but don't get me wrong Ty dolla sign is good but he's nothing compared to nate dogg don't get it twisted.
I used to sleep with my headphones on. When I first heard this song I was pleasently awoken 4 in the morning with this song playing, and for whatever reason music sounds even better when your half asleep.
I listened to A Tribe Called Quest's first 3 albums while trying to sleep on the floor of the Las Vegas airport waiting for my 20-hour layover one time. It was like my brain was huper-focused on the music. I understood everything they said, every single play-on-words and deep reference to things I barely understood before, all the jokes and double-entendres, the lyrical and rhyming structures in ways i had never heard, and felt like I was there hanging out with Tip and Phife watching them record the songs. I'm not sure if that counts as sleep or not but after that I decided I had enough energy to go walk the strip all day while waiting for my plane. It was awesome!
Love it. This is so funky. Some of yall don't understand what he is doing but I do. He simply is making the music he grew up on and was a fan to. In that's funk 100
GregB gregb Exactly ..This is the music that a lot of us grew up Gen X grew up on on ..Consider Charlie Wilson of the Gap Band, who were the ISH in the early 80s (thinking ol' school block club parties, etc.)
GregB gregb But its too poppy and immature to the point of being pointless. It's neither real rap nor funk, more a parody. I don't think he knows what he wants to achieve artistically anymore, just seeing dollar signs everywhere and selling out for the sake of it as all he has to do is write some nursery rhyme lyrics in his sleep and that's another pointless million in the bank. He has almost totally lost his integrity as a credible artist.
maccagrabme Do you even, really, KNOW funk music, as you claim, talking about how this is too "poppy"? Snoop Dog, like me, KNOWS his funk, which is why the FUNK LEGENDS are, always, willing to work with him ..He understands funk from the late 60s raw funk, to the 80s electro-synth-funk, which he has been exploring more and more into, with his more recent albums, being that the late 60s/70s funk has been greatly recycled in much of 90s hip hop music ...He is, now, tapping more into that early-to-mid 80s funk, like, when you consider groups like Slave, and the Minneapolis funk of the 80s ...and who are you to say that a song, or form of music, is "pointless"? We could say that much of the lyrics that came from Parliament-Funkadelic was "pointless", but many of us TRUE FUNKSTARS "get it" ..Basically, this is TOO "groovy" for you ...Like in my series on hip hop, I speak on how Rick Rubin (Def Jam) was, partly, responsible for "reducing" the music of hip hop to just "beats" and guitar riffs - taking out much of the GROOVE and FUNK from hip hop (although I loved a lot of those songs, too) ..Now, I'm not saying that hip hop music was, really, based around a "band", but it is DEEPLY rooted in R&B FUNK, and much of the EARLY hip hop songs were many of those electo-funk, electronica songs, that did not, necessarily, have rapping in it ...What'chu know 'bout Hasim "Al-Naayfish"? ..or "Push the Button" by Newcleus?
Bruh theres only soo much to talk about in gangsta rap that now its cliche, been done enough now. Plus I agree He's old, matured succeeding, living life, to the point their no need to talk about the block. Soo yeah I don't mind this.
it actually shows 4:19 to me lol reminds me of a highway sign for the 420th mile, which got stolen very often. so they put up a new one 419.99th mile, lol

Round of applause for my favorite producer Pharrell, anytime he produces a song for someone it becomes a hit. And a couple of my all-time favorite songs: *Usher* - You don't have to call *Omarion* - Touch *Common* - Come close *Beenie Man* & *Janet Jackson* - Feel it boy *Beenie Man* & *Mya* - Girls dem sugar *LL Cool J* - Love you better.. jheez nothing but hits.
