To be honest it was the later part of the 90's that were great. There was a feeling that things were getting better. Music, mobile phones and yes, slow internet. All fun and hope changed after 9/11. The general world view and politics took a darker turn. This got worse after Iraq in 2003 and then with the 2008 banking crisis. Hopefully post Brexit we can draw a line under all that and start a new, brighter chapter. We need to be out from under the American thumb and free from the tentacles of Europe. I search on Internet and I have discovered that Pharrel written it for Michael Jackson. It was for his last disc "Invicible". And now while listening it, I know that it might be true, because it looks like the Michael Jackson style.
Michael would have been awesome on this! It's so his sound and infectious driving rhythm - even the beat boxing. But JT idolizes MJ so rather in his hands than anyone else's if not MJ's.
Everytime I hear this song I think of my friend Steven, back in 09-10 when this song played in the clubs, he would always do the full dance with no hesitation. He was actually really good at it, rest his soul!
A lot of people don’t know pharell wrote this for Michael jackson and Michael refuse the song that’s why it got given to justin timberlake and it’s his biggest hit to this day
That's interesting... I could see why Michael Jackson turned it down. For him it would have been like a retread and I don't know if because of that it would probably not be as popular. The singer who made it popular, in my opinion, is basically doing a Michael Jackson impression, a decent one but an impression nonetheless.
Abe Sammy yup lol I'm so sad these days. If I could do anything to go back to the old days, I would. My family just isn't the same as a long time ago.😔

Yeah I’m not a Timberlake fan, especially back in the early 2000s but I can’t deny the fact that this a great song.
He was the Bieber of the early 00s
Pharrell wrote this song. He could’ve given to any artist but he decided to give to Justin Timberlake.
@@an18yearoldmongolianguy don’t ever compare that little shit to Timberlake ever again
This and Britney's "Toxic" are my guilty pleasures as a life long metal fan born in the 70's.
@@an18yearoldmongolianguy better than Bieber
Pharrell was a genius with this beat and selecting the right artist! And of course JT is a beast himself!
This tune still sounds fresh as the day it was released
2:41 is still the best beatbox break in 2019, I don’t care
RIGHT!!!!!
too doo doo doo
That's not beat boxing just some white bloke trying
What would the 2000's be without Pharrell Williams?

There's a Michael Jackson soundalike named Marcus Williams on here, I'm constantly bugging him to sing this and Can't Feel My Face.
My favorite part of this song is at the 2:24 mark . So what did you come here for , vocals was so smooth on that part

Man this was a DAMN GOOD time for pop music!
Apparently this song was originally written for Michael Jackson. It does sort of have that feel to it.
apparently you came from some sort of list.
cliftonenrico
That and a little bit of research.
BifordusMaximus i love mj... but this is better in JT's hands.
The Beat sounds like something michael jackson would do......

Everytime I hear this song I think of my friend Steven, back in 09-10 when this song played in the clubs, he would always do the full dance with no hesitation. He was actually really good at it, rest his soul!
R.I.P the homie Steven he's dancing in heaven
My condolences bro
Choreography used to be such a prominent part of a music video in the early 2000's.
It still is, it's just more about the twerking.
2007 doesnt seem like in the early 2000s :))
fizz113 Not really. anchovy1503 Things started to change after 2006.
Sexualized songs have become the norm, sadly.

Music has always been sexualized, probably since Elvis.

It seems like everybody knows it because every other comment is somebody saying that like they’re the only one.
ehhhhhhhhhh my love is pretty good
It's too close to "I wanna rock with you" by MJ
Too bad for MJ….🎶
That's interesting... I could see why Michael Jackson turned it down. For him it would have been like a retread and I don't know if because of that it would probably not be as popular. The singer who made it popular, in my opinion, is basically doing a Michael Jackson impression, a decent one but an impression nonetheless.
One of the hardest Neptunes beats right here! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
The nostalgia of hearing this song in Macy's or Sears all the time just brings back memories lol at the mall
Abe Sammy yup lol I'm so sad these days. If I could do anything to go back to the old days, I would. My family just isn't the same as a long time ago.😔
