Imo, Dream seemed to have been silent and patient of Nicholas's behavior while babysitting him. Whilst I feel really bad for Dream, he does himself _zero_ favours. He responds to criticism and harassment in the exact way people want him to. He always bends over backwards to apologise for stuff he shouldn't. Something mild will happen, then he will Tweet about it, making something relatively unknown, very much viral. Whilst I don't blame him for the root cause, he does himself dirty. He needs to only respond to what is necessary to respond to, and only respond to necessary drama if it doesn't go away after 2-4 weeks. He's way too quick to get defensive. He is not professional, he acts too much like any other guy on the internet, which makes it easy for people, even fans, to disrespect him. When you are as big as him, you need to act in a way that that gives society the illusion that there's a wall between you and them. He is young, and got too much attention too quickly. I think he needs good therapy and PR.
Couldn't agree more. He desperately needs to hire a good PR manager who can help him better handle these situations and, most importantly, tell him when to keep his mouth shut. And also help him deflect attention from negative topics and refocus it on ones that paint him in a better light.

Dream is an example of a person that got popular too fast and it hit him too hard. Not knowing how much power he has due to his fans, cheating to keep up the persona he is playing and thinking nobody will suspect him and doing stuff that ends up being seen as a manipulation. The allegations made things even worse, cause the pressure went even higher. At this point, I don't think he can do anything to fix it.

I think Dream makes mistakes but is well intentioned at the end of the day and it’s fucking insane and exhausting being on Twitter right now. Anyone who actually looks into the facts would probably realize Dream isn’t the awful person they claim he is. Even with the new allegations that just dropped yesterday I’m hesitant to believe any of it because there’s a malicious hate campaign going on right now against this guy that’s ultimate goal is to get him to off himself. honestly, i sided with nicolas cantu at first because i had the obvious bias and didn’t look into it more and just went with what people said, but looking into it more, yesh, dream was very very very obviously getting fucked over here. the guy partied with a guy he didn’t know was like a year under legal drinking age, got insulted repeatedly throughout the time, got “slapboxed” and had to pay the uber driver 1k because he felt bad for the guy. this all happened and yet, he still gets the blame for every wrong that occurred there and nobody decides to look at it from a neutral perspective. even i refused to look at it from a neutral perspective for a while. goes to show how important presenting yourself is. situation sucks for dream, but i’m guessing it’ll brush off in just a couple days because everyone just loses their attention span.

As far as I know the Speedrunning scandal is the only confirmed controversy that dream actually was 100% wrongful about, everything else is still on the grey area. As you said nowadays peoples tend to judge not on merit but on those "brownie points" that are given to people for certain conditions or for belonging to a group to the point where peeps start to rely on those points and refuse to try to improve themselves by fear of losing them (and the advantages some give). I just wanted to invite reflexion and have talked a bit to harshly. I don't brag about it but I am autistic (with motor problems like dyspraxia. Autism is often linked with a dys) but I was educated to try to improve myself and not try to rely on it until it became an absolute necessity, by having my status recognised, (ie finding jobs when the signs i can't supress are pushing the employers away) and tend to be unhinged when someone use similar afflictions (apparently) for brownie points.
I think it's an important thing to mention that, whilst absolutely not in any way an excuse for his behaviour, a couple of Nick's close friends have come out and discussed that he's been heavily struggling with bipolar disorder and that he's gone through similar patterns of behaviour during episodes he's had that have affected his friends directly in the past as well, and that he really is trying to take steps to get better, but keeps falling back into situations like this. While it's blatantly evident that he's a deeply troubled person, I don't think he's actually a complete narcissistic asshole at his core like people have been claiming. I think he just needs to take a step back from the internet and get the help he needs.

Whilst I feel really bad for Dream, he does himself _zero_ favours. He responds to criticism and harassment in the exact way people want him to. He always bends over backwards to apologise for stuff he shouldn't. Something mild will happen, then he will Tweet about it, making something relatively unknown, very much viral.
Whilst I don't blame him for the root cause, he does himself dirty. He needs to only respond to what is necessary to respond to, and only respond to necessary drama if it doesn't go away after 2-4 weeks. He's way too quick to get defensive.
He is not professional, he acts too much like any other guy on the internet, which makes it easy for people, even fans, to disrespect him. When you are as big as him, you need to act in a way that that gives society the illusion that there's a wall between you and them. He is young, and got too much attention too quickly. I think he needs good therapy and PR.
Couldn't agree more. He desperately needs to hire a good PR manager who can help him better handle these situations and, most importantly, tell him when to keep his mouth shut. And also help him deflect attention from negative topics and refocus it on ones that paint him in a better light.

I think it’s just the difference eternal how the apps want you to use. Twitter wants to constantly feed you news from your favorite accounts to be around for any reason, causing you to have to just consume all the info at face value without a second thought. While TH-cam encourages you to sit down and enjoy things one at a time, giving you time to critically think. Not saying one app is better, but that’s just my theory.

As far as I know the Speedrunning scandal is the only confirmed controversy that dream actually was 100% wrongful about, everything else is still on the grey area. At this point it's not like he did anything wrong, people are just biased against him for no reason starting with making up the grooming allegations like they are objective facts when they are truly still on a middle ground position.

As you said nowadays peoples tend to judge not on merit but on those "brownie points" that are given to people for certain conditions or for belonging to a group to the point where peeps start to rely on those points and refuse to try to improve themselves by fear of losing them (and the advantages some give). I just wanted to invite reflexion and have talked a bit to harshly. I don't brag about it but I am autistic (with motor problems like dyspraxia. Autism is often linked with a dys) but I was educated to try to improve myself and not try to rely on it until it became an absolute necessity, by having my status recognised, (ie finding jobs when the signs i can't supress are pushing the employers away) and tend to be unhinged when someone use similar afflictions (apparently) for brownie points.
I think it's an important thing to mention that, whilst absolutely not in any way an excuse for his behaviour, a couple of Nick's close friends have come out and discussed that he's been heavily struggling with bipolar disorder and that he's gone through similar patterns of behaviour during episodes he's had that have affected his friends directly in the past as well, and that he really is trying to take steps to get better, but keeps falling back into situations like this. While it's blatantly evident that he's a deeply troubled person, I don't think he's actually a complete narcissistic asshole at his core like people have been claiming. I think he just needs to take a step back from the internet and get the help he needs.

Im in law school final year and just looking on purely statements and evidence seen from videos on this here channel.
There was only 1 person who claimed him being a pedophile but hasn't released any sort of legal claims or evidence. If dream was a pedo to said person where this whole drama started ... they could have easily filed a case against him because they clearly dont care about it being public... So why not settle this the proper way about something this dead serious. where im studying atm i got to sit in of cases , couple of this topic. and indefinite evidence would be needed as this statue of allegations can ruin both parties if their innocent or guilty. extremely sensitive
