I've been experimenting with CNC carving spoons. I've been successful, but I think this method for creating the bowl would be quicker. Thanks! I would love to see your take on creating love spoons in FreeCAD. Thanks Again!!
Just make sure if you use this as a base feature to have the fusion inside the offset hidden and the offset collapsed. Inititally when I selected the Offset with the Fusion unhidden and the offset not collapsed, dragged it into a new body as a base feature, then tried to pad a screw post inside I received a getwiredirection error. I retried it but made sure the Fusion was hidden and the Offset collapsed in the tree and this time the pad worked perfectly, regardless whether offset inside or out. FreeCAD is powerful, but little details like this can make it frustrating, especially if your pressed for time. But, I still love this program and look forward to future developments.
Yes this would be one of the methods you can use.. The other methods would be to use a work flow similar to the fork and spoon video using a boolean common.
@@MangoJellySolutions Thanks, I've rewatched the fork and spoon video. I'm trying to 3D print a suitable frame for lenses I have from old broken glasses and fit the new frame into an auto-darkening welding mask.
This was a good one. Anyone know whether that model would actually print, or whether you need to go back to the base sketch and fully constrain everything?
Thank you glad you enjoyed. You don't have to have a fully constrained sketch to print, I do it all the time. It is best practice to but fir keeping the video shorter I tend not to
I tried this with a more complicated shape and had trouble getting the surface to follow the unbound edges, even with deviation settings reduced(not sure what all the curve settings do though). Gordon surface seems to follow the curves better, but there were some cusps at the corners when I tried to 3d offset. the extrude trick worked in some cases, but not others.
Thanks for the update. There is a setting on the surface called iteration. Increase this up to 2 and then increase the points on curve see if that helps.
No problems. Attachment is when you attach a sketch to a object. Placement is when you don't. Attachment x, y, z position will be relative to the object. Placement is relative to global position. I do have a video that explains this subject in my collection which should help to explain this in a more visual way. th-cam.com/video/87OVuYDrOIU/w-d-xo.html
Can you add surface to a solid - like bottle - to plug the entrance/opening and then erase one surface of the outside to make it break up, thus leaving the inside volume as a solid and then measure it's volume?

Thank you so much for this. ❤️❤️
oh... this just opened a load of possibilities!
Great to hear
Very helpful! Great content Thanks!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed :)
What a nicely made model ! I'm looking forward to your tutorials.
Thank you, hope you enjoy.
Had some trouble with the offset tool but went back and a few steps and managed to get it to work. I hd forget to make the extrude minus.
Hi, excellent to create landscapes ! 19:58 you can set the "reverse" option.
Great application 😀

Nice, just what I was in need. Thank you!

Thanks Darren. This is the method how we can bend the surface of spectacles lenses don't you agree?

@@MangoJellySolutions Thanks, I tried it and you're right, it does let you export a printable STL without fully constraining. Cool!

Wow! finally!
Could you please explain the differences between the sketch data attachment and placement? I'm still a bit confused.

Hi!
Do you have tutorial how to made shapes when have theoretical lines of hull rc boat from real existing planes) ?
Hi, I have a number of possible solutions in my curves workbench playlist that are boat building related
@@MangoJellySolutions I will check!
Hello. Can you teach how to make a part?
Where should I send the photo?
