Holy thank you, this helped so much! I started with 0xc0000098 and needed to reset my BCD for UEFI, which then brought me to 0xc0000001 and finally got me to a point where I could boot in safe mode

I on legacy mood and the problem the system partition not including volume list and when i try to shrink new one it tels me only efi only gpt , but when i open notepad from cmd and only explorer i find partition call X 500mb including boot system but not recognize on cmd volume or partitions

Guys don't use the clean Command ,I LOST ALL MY DRIVE DATA MY FILES AND SYSTEM BECAUSE OF THIS. My computer had problem again 5 days ago and i used the method i used last month ,but it didn't work so i tried the other two method in this video and after i clean the boot partition my C drive from gpt become mbr and what even worst my partition become RAW and that's end of my data files including my Os And apps. Didn't sleep for 3 days . I already saved all my important files one month ago and also long time ago but last month data i haven't save it yet. No way i can save my data every day, my OS gone and the problem i need to re-install my app. I was really exhausted i even skipped my breakfast and lunch to find the solution. This video is not really wrong but in some situation like mine it really made it worst delete bcd and rebuild is not really a good choice. I don't know what is in my head i should just use system recovery because the recovery option was available . But i thought last month i had almost the same problem and it solved i thought it will works this time too, i am such a stupid person.😢😢😢😢😢 it's because after my C drive partition become raw ,i followed other video said i need to format . But the video was made to deceive people and said without losing data .all because i delete bcd and rebuild . It will make your drive become mbr and raw.!!!
I hope you fixed your issue ! This BCD Boot error is so annoying my computer kept flashing it on and off after multiple fixes . (You and I have HAD the same issues , and I did the exact same thing , luckily I had this USB stick to repair the lost files ect . I purchased this 20$ USB BOOT MEDIA off of Amazon that came with all the windows installations and boot repair tools , literally everything you could need , and it has served me so wonderfully, fixing the error with out re installing windows ! I highly suggest using the same path I did .

Life saver! My windows 10 had same error. Tried all solutions from other websites. Mine was EFI boot and BCD folder had got deleted somehow (I was not on any dodgy website and also have latest AV installed, even then), so had to create one. 4th action in this video helped and My "All in one" came back ON as if it had never faced any issues

I have done all the steps shown in the video, but it does not appear to me that a volume size of 100 MB only appears to me as a volume called uefi ntfs, and it is of the Fat type only, and its size is 1 MB. What should I do?

I'm not quite sure if THIS did the trick, but this video did make me realized that I needed to switch back from USB boot mode back to OS boot mode, so I'll give it a thumbs up.

When I do “format ?: /fs:fat32” it says “The type of the file system is NTFS.” “The new file system is FAT32.” “Enter current volume label for drive ?:” What do I enter for volume ? I tried just putting 1 because that’s the corresponding volume label for the 100 mb FAT32 partition but it didn’t work. Any ideas????
additional note I tried the ren c:\boot commands and got system cannot find file specified. I can see windows when I go to notepad I see all the files and everything but none of these commands can work since I have no path..
I then tried to format the system reserve but the pc will not let me it asked for the label name which is system rese but says wrong label I try sprelling reserve and same error. so kind of stuck for now

In the last/penultimate step I cannot find a volume that is fat32, nor that weighs 100MB, the ones that appear are the following: -many NTFS. - 1 UDF. -1 FAT. I tried with FAT but since it only weighs 32 MB it tells me that it is too small for FAT32 and with the bcdboot command "c:\windows /s z: /f all" it tells me the following error: "Error trying to copy boot files."

I have ACER NITRO 5 (2021) i5 11th gen RTX 3050 While playing CS GO it was lagging a little bit so I thought my drivers are not updated. So I downloaded drivers for my GPU (RTX3050 ) it was from acer's website. It was a Display Driver and after the installation , it asked for a reboot. And then this problem occured , I tried everthing in this video but it didn't worked although I don't want to say this video is not helpful, my problem was different. Then I tried booting my laptop in safe mode and went to control panel and uninstalled the driver which I installed and fortunately it solved the problem. I hope this helps someone and also this video is very helpful.

Please help. My installation says it's in: J:\Windows. Volume 1 Letter D is my system rese Legacy BIOS. ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old gives me "The system cannot find the file specified." (Should I do j:\boot\bcd bcd.old) J drive instead? "bootrec /rebuildbcd" add installation = Y and fixboot gives "Element not found." I went to expert forums before this. They had me do these things below which I see are for EFI Based System that made changes to my system: bcdboot J:\Windows /s D: bcdboot j:\windows /s d: /f all bootsect /nt60 SYS bootsect /nt60 all bootsect /nt60 all /mbr

Friend Retry all the steps in this vide again. If not then do u have another PC laptop friends PC? Please create bootable USB of Hiren's BootCD PE. Boot from the above USB. You already have easybcd which can help creating your BCD store.

I'm stuck in step 1. I already followed the first instructions above to get access to cmd using a USB Flash Drive as i don't have a DVD drive but whenever the system tries to boot from the USB drive the screen only goes black with a cursor blinking on the top left corner of the screen. Sir mine is showing RAW 100 Mb and another one is NTFS 478 both are hidden, I couldn't find fat or fat 32, None of the method work for me can you please help..
In the "Add Installation" prompt key.. part, it replies 'The requested system device cannot be found.' Also the "ren c:..." has a 'The system cannot find the file specified' reply.
@@brainerstech in the third step, When i type the “bcdboot c:\windows /s z: /f bios” (all the assigned drives are correct, i double checked), what appears is the description of what a BCDBOOT File creation and repair tool is complete with examples on how to write them. And for the 4th step, i have an NTFS so i don’t know how the Format FS:FAT32 is supposed to work.

Use a pen drive 16gb to repair your device. It is very easy to repair but after 1 day of repairing if it shows again repair option then it was your ram which is doing the problem , either you need to go to the service centre or buy a ram and set things up buy yourself.

Thanks so much for the detailed guide! Unfortunately, I'm stuck in step 3a "/scanos". I know it tells you to wait and that it may take a while, and I do have multiple large (2TB) disks in my system, but I guess this should not take like 30 minutes? I also got a new command line ("X:\Sources>" before getting any result from /scanos. Should I keep waiting or retry? Thanks again!
Friend - Ideally scanos should not take this much time....however i suggest to wait as much as possible. Another idea, but little advanced - Using your friends PC or another PC, pls try to create live windows usb or another bootable windows hard disk and start your PC using it. I tried to delete and recreate the BIOS based system but when I enter in ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old, it states “a duplicate file name exist, or the file cannot be found.” I don’t know what to do next.

When I type The command ren c:/boot /bcd bcd.old,,,,It says a duplicate file name exists or the file can not be found . And when type bootrec /rebuild bcd , it says total identified windows installations are "0" 😮 I don't know what to do to fix this 😢
There may already be a bcd[dot]old file on your device. Remove that file first (if it exists) and then re-execute the command (ensuring that it is typed correctly).

Holy thank you, this helped so much! I started with 0xc0000098 and needed to reset my BCD for UEFI, which then brought me to 0xc0000001 and finally got me to a point where I could boot in safe mode

I on legacy mood and the problem the system partition not including volume list and when i try to shrink new one it tels me only efi only gpt , but when i open notepad from cmd and only explorer i find partition call X 500mb including boot system but not recognize on cmd volume or partitions

Guys don't use the clean Command ,I LOST ALL MY DRIVE DATA MY FILES AND SYSTEM BECAUSE OF THIS. My computer had problem again 5 days ago and i used the method i used last month ,but it didn't work so i tried the other two method in this video and after i clean the boot partition my C drive from gpt become mbr and what even worst my partition become RAW and that's end of my data files including my Os And apps. Didn't sleep for 3 days . I already saved all my important files one month ago and also long time ago but last month data i haven't save it yet. No way i can save my data every day, my OS gone and the problem i need to re-install my app. I was really exhausted i even skipped my breakfast and lunch to find the solution. This video is not really wrong but in some situation like mine it really made it worst delete bcd and rebuild is not really a good choice. I don't know what is in my head i should just use system recovery because the recovery option was available . But i thought last month i had almost the same problem and it solved i thought it will works this time too, i am such a stupid person.😢😢😢😢😢 it's because after my C drive partition become raw ,i followed other video said i need to format . But the video was made to deceive people and said without losing data .all because i delete bcd and rebuild . It will make your drive become mbr and raw.!!!
I hope you fixed your issue ! This BCD Boot error is so annoying my computer kept flashing it on and off after multiple fixes . (You and I have HAD the same issues , and I did the exact same thing , luckily I had this USB stick to repair the lost files ect .
I purchased this 20$ USB BOOT MEDIA off of Amazon that came with all the windows installations and boot repair tools , literally everything you could need , and it has served me so wonderfully, fixing the error with out re installing windows ! I highly suggest using the same path I did .
I recommend to you buy a microsd an use your phone to download a Windows os and then insert to ur PC turned off and reinstall Windows

Life saver! My windows 10 had same error. Tried all solutions from other websites. Mine was EFI boot and BCD folder had got deleted somehow (I was not on any dodgy website and also have latest AV installed, even then), so had to create one. 4th action in this video helped and My "All in one" came back ON as if it had never faced any issues

When I do “format ?: /fs:fat32” it says
“The type of the file system is NTFS.”
“The new file system is FAT32.”

What do I enter for volume ?
I tried just putting 1 because that’s the corresponding volume label for the 100 mb FAT32 partition but it didn’t work.

additional note I tried the ren c:\boot commands and got system cannot find file specified. I can see windows when I go to notepad I see all the files and everything but none of these commands can work since I have no path..
I then tried to format the system reserve but the pc will not let me it asked for the label name which is system rese but says wrong label I try sprelling reserve and same error. so kind of stuck for now

In the last/penultimate step I cannot find a volume that is fat32, nor that weighs 100MB, the ones that appear are the following:
-many NTFS.
- 1 UDF.
-1 FAT.
I tried with FAT but since it only weighs 32 MB it tells me that it is too small for FAT32
and with the bcdboot command "c:\windows /s z: /f all" it tells me the following error:
"Error trying to copy boot files."
I tried both methods to fix the problem on a EFI system and both fixes were only temporary. As soon as I restart the PC there is a boot error again
if you can get temporary access to windows, Please follow Solution 4 in the below video (pls do not worry about video tittle, this solution can work for your case, if there are some malwares creating this problem)

While playing CS GO it was lagging a little bit so I thought my drivers are not updated.
So I downloaded drivers for my GPU (RTX3050 ) it was from acer's website. It was a Display Driver and after the installation , it asked for a reboot.
And then this problem occured , I tried everthing in this video but it didn't worked although I don't want to say this video is not helpful, my problem was different. Then I tried booting my laptop in safe mode and went to control panel and uninstalled the driver which I installed and fortunately it solved the problem. I hope this helps someone and also this video is very helpful.

I went to expert forums before this. They had me do these things below which I see are for EFI Based System that made changes to my system:

bootsect /nt60 all
bootsect /nt60 all /mbr

Sir mine is showing RAW 100 Mb and another one is NTFS 478 both are hidden, I couldn't find fat or fat 32, None of the method work for me can you please help..

@@brainerstech in the third step, When i type the “bcdboot c:\windows /s z: /f bios” (all the assigned drives are correct, i double checked), what appears is the description of what a BCDBOOT File creation and repair tool is complete with examples on how to write them. And for the 4th step, i have an NTFS so i don’t know how the Format FS:FAT32 is supposed to work.

"The requested system device cannot be found" it happends at the commad bootrec/rebuildbcd
Use a pen drive 16gb to repair your device. It is very easy to repair but after 1 day of repairing if it shows again repair option then it was your ram which is doing the problem , either you need to go to the service centre or buy a ram and set things up buy yourself.

Thanks so much for the detailed guide! Unfortunately, I'm stuck in step 3a "/scanos". I know it tells you to wait and that it may take a while, and I do have multiple large (2TB) disks in my system, but I guess this should not take like 30 minutes? I also got a new command line ("X:\Sources>" before getting any result from /scanos. Should I keep waiting or retry?

Friend - Ideally scanos should not take this much time....however i suggest to wait as much as possible.
Another idea, but little advanced - Using your friends PC or another PC, pls try to create live windows usb or another bootable windows hard disk and start your PC using it. Then run EasyBCD to scan and rebuild other OSs available in your PC.

Dude - pls ensure your usb was created properly as boot media and what was the mode it was written set the same mode in your bios as well (uefi vs legacy bios).

ok.. I just did your video on bcdboot c:\windows /l en-us /s d: /f bios next I tried this video with these commands tried first one bootrec /fixmbr and I get the system cannot find the path specified. do you have a video on this fix? I cannot seem to find one. Thanks
Hey when I get to the part where I reformat the fat32 drive it tells me my system is ntfs & always says I’m entering the wrong volume which never formats the drive’ that’s the only thing keeping me from accessing my files smh

when i try to boot from a usb it keep going back to the same error window?? there are never any video on when it does not work
Dude - this means your system is not actually booting from usb or your usb bootable is not properly created. pls check the below video and recreate the bootable usb and then retry this steps.

I tried to delete and recreate the BIOS based system but when I enter in ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old, it states “a duplicate file name exist, or the file cannot be found.” I don’t know what to do next.
It just tells some old version has been already backed up and no bcd file is available.

When I type The command ren c:/boot /bcd bcd.old,,,,It says a duplicate file name exists or the file can not be found . And when type bootrec /rebuild bcd , it says total identified windows installations are "0" 😮 I don't know what to do to fix this 😢
There may already be a bcd[dot]old file on your device. Remove that file first (if it exists) and then re-execute the command (ensuring that it is typed correctly).
