Thank you Tilly for straight and direct prices.
I have no mansion money. So my humble abode will be enough to farm from for now, levels of modernity and renewable resources ideas for farming and livestock growth production; amongst other creative things.
    Thank you for sharing.
    Peace

I am currently building in Ghana too. The man in charge was initially good and helpful until he realised I live abroad. Since last week we have to put everything on hold. We realised he started not to be truthful to us anymore. We have currently completed the slab level. Hopefully we will find someone truthful to help us continue. Thank you fir sharing. The prices you said were right at the start of the project. I noticed cost of labour building in Ghana is low but materials are expensive.

Your house foundation and compound should be higher than the road so water does not flood your house but rather move out unto the gutters and streets. So you should slope your compound a bit towards the street.

I have been reap of many times in Ghana, the best way if you are living in abroad is to take your time and build yourself financially and go to Ghana to start everything from the scratch in this way you will be able to do everything in your own way and will be less cheated am abroad and all what this lady is saying is the truth you can't trust anyone

I’m building myself and i don’t write how much i spend at all. The secret is don’t write it down, trust me it helps. Because when you look back and see how much you have spent so far and your building is still the same, you will be surprised. Material prices changes all the time and there’s no accurate fix prices tag on materials.

Madame, thank you very much for this much information. i can bet you $12,000 (about GHS60,000) is still expensive. if what am seeing in your video is what you call foundation then still its $12k is expensive. Unless it includes the foundation concrete. you gave the cost of iron rods as GHS3,400 for both 16mm and 12mm which means they are 1ton each in quantity and if all was used in this work then am sorry i stand to be corrected. In all i will say you have the accurate market prizes but where you are not focusing is if the actual quantity of materials are being used. another instance from experience is that no one charges extra for transportation if you buy 3,000pcs of blocks or 2Ton iron rods or 170 bags of cement or 23 trucks of sand. if you were charged separately then.......

BUILDING PROBLEMS SEEM TO STEM FROM THE LACK OF UNIONS AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS. THE WORKERS ARE JUST DAY LABORERS THE "CONTRACTOR" OR SELF NAMED "BUILDER" HIRES AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE.
THE LACK OF BUILDING CODE STANDARDS IS RIDICULOUS. EACH BUILDER DOES IT THEIR OWN WAY WITH NO INSPECTORS ON SITE OR PERMITS AT EACH STEP AFTER INSPECTIONS. NO STANDARDS FORF MATERIALS EITHER. PEOPLE MAKE BLOCKS AT HOME OUT OF MYSTERY MATERIALS AND CUT CORNERS ON MORTAR.
GHANA IS NEAR THE EQUATOR AND THOSE STEEL RODS WILL CORRODE AND WEAKER THE WALLS FROM WITHIN.
IT IS ALL WAY TOO INDEPENDENT AND LACKING IN OVERSIGHT. ALL THOSE NEW LOOKING HOUSES WILL BE CRUMBLING WITHIN A DECADE.
